Arianna leaned against a tree that rested in the common area of the front of the compound, letting out a comfortable sigh. It was nice to get some fresh air and relax a little. She had brought lunch for herself and her young charge, along with a bucket out outdoor toys for Ina and a book for herself. And it seemed Ina was entertaining herself quite well. Ari opened her book and soothed herself with its pages, keeping an eye on the wolf-girl as best as she could.

Ina was having a grand old time. She had snuck some of her other toys in with the outside ones and was now putting them to use! She swung her leg over the stick pony she had, which was a long pole with a horsie head at the end, and picked up a basket of fake food. "Imma going to deliever lunch!" she chirped cheerfully and began to run through the grass, holding the stick-pony with one hand and the basket with another.

Walking hand in hand, Evie and Elisa thought it was best to get out of their apartment at the moment. If they stayed, there might have been a missing person ad to come out of it, and Ivan would be the missing person. Evie's twin always knew how to get under her skin, and boy, he did a wonderful job of it. Today wasn't any different.

Nope. Today was just the icing on the cake, so to speak.

What did he do today? Well Ivan thought it was funny to use her favorite blouse as a towel when dying his hair. Why did he have to dye it anyway? He just buzz it, but that was because Elisa thought it was funny to stick sticky things in his hair. Regardless, why? Just...why?

Evie just stormed out of the apartment with Elisa to avoid murder.

It was a nice day though, so walking with Elisa was nice. Coming to the common area, the two stumbled upon another guardian and soul. Hmm...Wonder who they were? Evie didn't normally get out much. She's been busy with school lately, so her knowledge of the other guardians was minimal. It was just unfortunate for Elisa.

Walking over to the pair, Evie gave a cordial smile. "Hello. Are you a guardian as well?" The guardian started only to stop herself and think. What a stupid question, she kept telling herself. This woman was obviously a guardian seeing as there was a soul there...

"I'm Evie."

By this point, Elisa wandered over to the other girl and cocked her head. What was this girl doing? She looked to be having fun, and she was very fuzzy. Why were everyone she's met so far either really fluffy or colorful.

"Hello," the toddler started before pointing at herself. "Elisa."

Ari let her book down, folding the page she was at and looked up at the sound of someone's voice. She smiled. Ah! Another gaurdian! It was good to meet another one, since she felt so out of touch with the other gaurdian's lately. Mainly because most of the ones she had known before had left. "Ah, yes! I'm Arianna. Though please call me Ari," she said, sitting up and offering Evie her hand.

Ina's ears turned to face Elisa before she did. She then walked in a circle to face the other girl, still on her stick-pony. "Hi! Imma Ina!" she smiled widely, showing white teeth and wagging her brightly colored tail. Oh! Maybe she could deliver the food to this girl. "I deliver food to you!" she chirped, holding out the basket to Elisa.

Ari, eh? That was pretty name. It was good to see another female guardian; Evie had only met another fellow new guardian, but the guardian was male. Perhaps, Ari knew Elisa and her previous guardian?

"Nice to meet you, Ari," Evie began as she took Ari's extended hand. How nice. It was really nice and welcoming. Perhaps Evie should fight and storm out on Ivan more often or at least get out. "I'm Elisa's new guardian. I'm not sure if you knew Elisa and her other guardian previously..." There was a hint of hope in her voice.

Ina was purple and fluffy. Elisa was still trying to decide if she deemed her a fellow Pretty. The fluffiness was quite tantalizing though...

Fluffy and purple...

What the girl said next confused Elisa to no end. Deliver food to her? What was this Fluffy talking about? A lady didn’t ask questions though. No. A lady did what she was told, and Elisa was most definitely a lady.

"Yes?" Elisa replied, almost questionably. Sure. This Fluffy could deliver food to her. Elisa was a lady, and people serving her was always a plus. She actually liked it that way. What delivering food truly entailed was still an enigma to her.

Ari shook her head sadly, "I'm afraid not...I don't live on the compound, and I was close to a few guardian's but...most of them are gone now. I don't believe either was Elisa's but...I have a poor memory for names so I could be mistaken." She offered an apollogetic smile. So many new guardians...It almost made HER feel the freak, for having been Ina's original gaurdian from her "birth". "But it's a pleasure to meet you," she added warmly, "I'm sure you take wonderful care of Elisa."

Ina swung the basket impatiently. Didn't this girl know how to play pretend? Goodness! "Take basket!" she commanded, as though it were obvious. She had other stuff to deliver! Well...she was getting a little tired of delivering...she wanted to ride her stick-pony though! Mmm...maybe race! Yeah! Her stick-pony was the fastest, so she knew she'd win.

Oh well. It didn't hurt to try. She didn't even fully understand why she wanted to know. Maybe to understand Elisa more? Regardless, it was sad to hear that a lot of the original guardians had left. She knew child care was a big responsibility, and she just hoped she didn't end up leaving Elisa as well. It's tough for the child. They get attached to one person and are suddenly thrust to another.

How sad...

"Thank you," Evie replied in response to her care for Elisa. She tried, and she just hoped that she was doing an okay job. Life with Ivan made things difficult though...

"I'm sorry to hear about you loss of friends though...It must be hard to be one of the only originals left."

Was this Fluffy getting snotty with her? Oh no. This simply won't do!

Disgruntled, Elisa picked up the basket and tapped her foot. This Fluffy bossing her around seriously made her mad. "You deliver now?"

"Yes...but it's more awkward then anything. But it's not an entirely bad thing...it means I get to meet new people, after all!" Ari said, trying to pick out the silver lining. Besides, it'd be much harder on the children then it would be on her. Getting a completely new parental figure was never an easy task. But hopefully things would work out for the best, and that was for everyone.

"No, no, I just did deliver," Ina explained with a twitch of her tail. This girl was no fun. She just stood there and didn't get anything! "I'm racing my pony now," she said with a sagely nod, turning and running with two hands on the pole of the her stick-pony.

"That's true," Evie began trying to look on the brighter side of things. Meeting new people was always a plus, but the reason for the meeting was still disheartening. Though, if it weren't for new guardians, Evie wouldn't be here talking to Ari, nor would she be the caregiver of Elisa. In some aspects, at least for her, she was glad for it. Most aspects were just upsetting.

"Oh well...Do you live on the compound?" Evie asked trying to be friendly.

Oh. So that was why she thrust the basket at her. Whoops. Elisa got an attitude for nothing. She could understand why the Fluffy was short with her. Perhaps they could get off on the right foot now?

"Elisa race too?" Hopefully there was another pony, but if not, Elisa could race this Ina with just herself.

Ari shook her head, "No...I live in my own home off of it. I'm the only one who doesn't live, so all the changes are all that much more surprising to me." It was a little hard to keep up at times, but she couldn't move. She had other charges in her care and she couldn't force them all to move into the apartments here. She just managed the best she could with visits. "You live here though?" she asked, more out of politeness then anything, because she assumed that Evie did.

Ina stopped her pony from racing for a moment, swishing her tail thoughtfully. Well...racing with another real pony was a lot more fun then just racing. She smiled and stuck out a purple finger to point to a box not far away. "Stick-pony in there," she informed helpfully. There had always been two as far as Ina could remember...a brown one and a white one. Ina always loved the white one because it was prettier.

So the guardians didn't have to live on the compound? You learn something new every day. Evie just assumed you had to. Regardless, it was nice for Ary to come visit. It must mean something special to many here.

Evie gave a simple nod to Ary's question. She did live on the compound. It took awhile to finalize everything and finally get settled, but now she was living here. Ivan too...but that was different story... "I recently just got settled here," Evie started as she played with a loose curl that fell from her updo. "I live in the first building with my brother."

Both were assigned to her...

Elisa clapped her hands gleefully. Good. Good. So there was another pony. Now she could race with this Ina.

Toddling over to the box, Elisa scowled. The brown one? The white one was much prettier. No wonder Ina took that one. That Fluffy had taste. Yes. Yes. This brown would have to do though...even if it wasn't as pretty...

Walking back, Elisa mounted the pony and nodded her head. "Ready?"

"I see. Settling in can be a bit daunting, can't it, especially if there's three of you," Ari said with empathy. She offered a smile, "If you still need help with anything let me know. I certainly wouldn't mind lending a hand." As long as she wasn't working she certainly didn't mind. After all, it was good to make some bonds with other guardian's around the compound. After loosing a few friends the only possible thing to do was to make a few more. In a non-replacement way, of course.

Ina nodded, her tail swishing back and forth in anticipation. She had quite a serious face on. "To the tree and back," she said seriously, her ears perking forward and quivering attentively. "Ready..." She bent down a little, preparing to dart forward. "...set..." Her gold eyes fixed gamely on the tree, her destination. "GO!" She jumped forward, starting off at a run.
PostPosted: Mon Apr 09, 2007 4:52 pm

Evie gave a gracious smile. How nice. Everything here was so polite and giving. It was almost...odd, at least for her. Not to say she wasn't used to it...well...maybe. Her mother was just crazy, and Ivan was always taking. It was just nice for someone to offer something to her and not expect anything like her mother or simply just take like Ivan. This was new. This was...nice.

"Thank you." Evie replied with a smile plastered on her face as she spoke. "I really appreciate it. If you need anything either, just ask. I'm sure either my brother or I will help. That is if my brother isn't being lazy or something. He likes to mooch off of me and then leave. He's done it since we’ve been children.”

Preparing herself, Elisa watched Ina and crouched down low just as the other Soul had done. She was going to win this race. She had to. Just as Ina had done, Elisa fixed her eyes on the tree. Didn't see that far. Yea. This should be easy.

Before Elisa could even realize it, Ina had announced go and began to run forward. No! The race had begun! This would not do! Running as fast as she could, Elisa darted after Ina; the whole time trying to catch up.

"Aww, really? Well, that's siblings for you, isn't it?" Ari laughed a little. She had a younger brother. He wasn't exactly a moocher but...she knew how siblings could be. They could drive you nuts sometimes. And then other times you were more then happy to have them. "But thank you! It's nice to have people to count on again, you know? Not that I can't normally call on my friend Nicki but...I do give him quite a bit of trouble. Might as well give him a break, right?"

Ina laughed. She was winning! She ran faster, racing through the grass in her bear feet with the stick-pony held expertly between her legs. Her tail was held high as she did so, an instictive reaction. Finally she was in range of the tree and she reached out with a purple fist, tagging it. She then turned around and started back.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 11, 2007 2:03 pm

If that's what siblings were for, mooching, Evie didn't want them. Ivan could go back to the spaceship that dropped him off, since he truly wasn't from this planet or at least Evie thought so. He can go back to his own planet and not mooch and live with her. That would be nice...Just to clear the air, Evie didn't hate Ivan. It's the opposite really. Evie cared for Ivan, and they did share a freaky twin bond. He just pushed a little too far sometimes. That and he was constantly looming around. That can get quite...irritating.

Shaking her thoughts aside, Evie turned her attention back on the other guardian. "Of course!" She replied with a grin in response to Nicki getting a break. Breaks are nice and usually rare. "Anyway, how long have you been a guardian?"

Gritting her teeth, Elisa pushed harder and faster as her small frame tried to catch up with Ina. She could feel the pony stick fall a little, so she quickly hoisted it up. She could lose, and this horsie couldn't be a distraction! It was unfair and not right, at least she felt so. She couldn't lose.

Tagging the tree shortly after Ina, Elisa could feel the wind that Ina was producing. She was right on her heels now.

"Mm...I'm not sure of the exact time frame, really. I'm one of the first guardians, so it's been a while. I took charge of Ina when she was first formed...and now look at her! If she were a normal human child I'd say she was around 6 or 7. They grow faster but...it's still been a while," Ari smiled, turning her violet gaze to look out at her charge not far in the distance. Her expression held warm affection. Raising a child might be hard at times, but it was always worth it, wasn't it?

Faster, faster! Ina felt her ears quiver as they pinned forward in determination. She was running flat out, holding the stick-pony expertly between her legs. She could see the finish line up ahead! She was almost there! She grinned and leapt forward. Ahah!
