Arianna looked at the flight of stairs leading to one of the compound apartments. She then turned her violet gaze to the little wolf child beside her. They were finally here and...a bit late. Ina had insisted that she button her coat herself, since the newly aquired skill seemed to give the young girl a good sense of pride. And then of course Ina had wanted a bring a bunch of toys along and it had taken quite a bit of work to persued her not to do so, because Ari really didn't want to put the burden of keeping track of Ina's things onto another guardian. But after much hassal they were finally here. "Come on Ina, lets go...you know which door it is, right? It's right above Haki's," Ari told her with a small smile, starting up the stairs.
"YES! With the smelly man!" Ina twirled before hurrying up the stairs rather quickly and nosily. She past her momma with a giggle and a wag of her tail, turning round the corner of the stairs and going up again. She paused at Haki's door with a curious twitch of her ears, but she was quickly distracted and raced up the stairs again to the next floor. There was the all too familiar door that she and Haki had gone through on their little adventure. She stood proudly on her tip-toes and rang the doorbell four times, laughing.

Along with the sound of the doorbell came the tinking of broken class and a high pitched screech. Stephan cringed, not sure which to attend to first. He had forgotten about the playdate, and now wasn't really the best time. Apparently, Vega didn't like cheerios. Or bananas, or blueberries, or just about anything else. At least, nothing he was being given. Deciding that turning his back on the high-chaired Vega for a moment wouldn't be too horrible, he headed to answer the door, opening it just as the toddler let out another ear shattering scream. "Hey," he yelled, trying to be heard over Vega, "I um." Another crash, "Come on in."
Vega banged his now empty bowl on the plastic table of the highchair, screeching whenever he hit it hard enough to get a little recoil. He wanted crepes. How daft was this guy? God! Cold cereal and old fruit? And he actually expected him to eat that. And worse, orange juice with pulp in it. Ugh.

"Hello stinky man!" Ina chimed with a smile before running past him with a giggle. Her canine ears twitched at the noise and she quickly went to it's source. She stood on her tiptoes, resting her fingers on the edge of Vega's tray, and peered at him with gold eyes. "Ooooh, hello!" Her tail and ears quivered and she looked at the cheerios and blueberries, both objects discarded. She picked one of each, stuck the blueberry into the cheerio hole and then popped it in her mouth. "Mmm!" Her tail wagged in approval.
Ari had reached the step just as Stephan opened the door. A frown smoothed across her face and genuine concern shone in her eyes. "Is everything alright...?" she asked, pausing at the door as she stood before her fellow guardian. "Do you need some help...?" It sounded like something was going on in there...though it could be a number of things by the screaming.

Stephan blinked. Stinky man? Oh... "Huh?" he asked, turning to Ari, "No, well, no, yeah, she- he's always like that. At least, so far. I think." He was rambling, but after three days with no sleep it was sort of expected. He started to walk back toward the highchair, dragging his feet. Vega was a tiring child, even when he was quiet. Deciding that Ina would be able to amuse him enough to not demand more attention, he dropped onto the couch, looking up to Ari with bloodshot eyes, "Are they all like this?"
Vega's mouth closed into a tiny o when Ina came near, but quickly turned to an offended scowl when she took his things. Sure, he didn't want them, but they were still his. No one had told her she could have them. He reached a tiny hand out and grabbed hold of a lock of her hair, giving it a hard tug, "No!"

Ari came in, shutting the door gently behind her. It looked like poor Stephan could use a hand. "Well no...they all act differently I suppose. But it is rather normal for a toddler to be loud and energetic..." She murmured. She let her eyes dift over the kitchen until she saw some papertowls. She took one absently and then went over and began to pick the spilled food off the floor. Throwing food...another common place event in child rearing.
Ina wondered what it'd be like to put a banana in a cheerio when she felt a tug on her head. Yank! She squeaked in pain and quickly shot her sharp gaze over to the horrible offender of hair pulling. And before anything could be done she jumped up and bit him right on the arm, her tail puffed out quite like a feather duster. "MEANIE!"

Steps forced a smile, "So they'll grow out of it. Some at least." That was encouraging. But so far nothing Vega did had proved to have a simple solution. Even bath time was hell. The boy insisted on having his hair washed one certain way, and if Steps did it just one tiny bit off he'd stick his head in the toilet as soon as he got out. Which was, of course, lovely. "Thanks," he managed, though he wished he had enough energy to help with this round of cleanup.
When the girl bit down on his arm Vega went silent and stared at her for a moment, then his eyes got wide and tears welled up in them. She'd hurt him. She actually hurt him. The nerve. He made a sort of humming noise, then burst in a wailing cry, kicking and pounding his fists on the table. Despite the fact that he had started it, his face showed the most pitiful innocent expression. She wasn't going to get away with that.

Ari jumped at the sudden wailing, whirling around to focus her attention on the two children. She set the papertowl full of lovely food off the floor on the counter and rushed over to her charge. "Ina! What did I tell you about biting? You know better!" she scolded, sounding cross. It had only been two minutes and she was already causing trouble!
Ina pouted as she was pulled away from the other toddler, her lower lip jutting out and her ears folding back. "But momma! He pulled my hair!" she complained. She had every right to bite the meany! Why was it momma never understood such things?
"He's little, you know better then him," Ari said firmly. "Go sit over there by the door, time out for five minutes," she decided, leading the wolf-girl over. She was going to have to get over this biting thing! Ohh, this whole thing was so embaressing! "Stay there," she told her, before going back into the kitchen and going over to Vega. "Can I see your arm, honey?" she cooed gently to the toddler. She hoped Ina hadn't broken the skin or anything.

Steps got to his feet and over to the chair, standing beside Ari as she asked about any injuries. He didn't really seem concerned. It didn't look like Ina had bitten him very hard, and the fact that he made this big of a show about everything made it hard for him to care. "He'll be fine," he told her, despite the look he got from Vega, "He just wants some attention."
Vega grinned as the girl was taken away for time out, returning to his pitiful look when her mother came back to look at him. With his lip quivering he held his arm up to her, turning to stick his tongue out at Ina only once he thought the woman was distracted by daddy. But then, daddy said something about him. No! He wasn't going to be fine. She'd bitten him, that wasn't fine.

Well, Stephan was right about Vega being fine. The bite wasn't anything to be worried about, by the look of it. Ari gently took his arm and looked it over carefully anyway. "Mm...perhaps. Children do need a lot of attention," she agreed. But even if injuries weren't serious, children could often find them upsetting anyway. "Want me to kiss it and make it better?" she asked Vega warmly. It worked for most children.
Ina glowered at Vega from across the room. She looked in such a mood that she might have started growling or some such thing. Instead she pulled her fingers against the side of her lips and opened her mouth, making a horrible face at the toddler while rolling her eyes. Stupid meanie! She'd get him, she would! Once she got out of her time out, anyway.

Stephan stood back with his arms crossed over his chest, shaking his head. Oh well, no pain in giving him some attention. Meanwhile, Ina seemed upset. He slid over to where she was sitting and crouched down beside her, whispering, "You know, I can see him doing that too, it's not just you." Hopefully she wouldn't hold too much of a grudge against Vega, that's just the way he was.
Meanwhile, Vega had a smile spread ear to ear, and a lock of silver hair fallen over in front of his face. He tossed it back with a flick of his head, then nodded fiercely to Ari. "Kiss!" he parroted, holding both arms up to her, "Up, up!" After all, he couldn't do much fun stuff from up here.

Ina's ears perked and she looked at the strange man with her gold eyes. "Stinky man see it too?" She asked, cocking her head. Well! At least someone did! "Momma doesn't!" she sulked with a bristle of her tail, "She too nice." Momma was always nicer to the younger ones! It wasn't fair! At least...it wasn't fair when SHE happened to be older.
Ary brushed her two braids behind each ear and bent down and gave Vega's bite a gentle kiss. She then reached in, putting her hands under his arms and lifting him out of the seat. "Not hungry, are you?" she murmured sweetly, holding him up against her side and shoulder.

"Well, you see, Vega's got a way of making people think he's sweeter than he is," he told her, ignoring the name stinky man, "And right now your momma just hasn't seen him throw a real fit." He knew Vega was spoiled, somehow, without him having spoiled him.
Hungry? Yes thank god! Vega nodded, snuggling himself up in her shirt. He liked this woman, she was nice and she did thinks the fair way. The way that got him what he wanted. Maybe she'd be smart enough to know what he wanted to eat. Or at least try to ask him.

Well, it didn't matter. Ina would get back at him. Once she was free that is. She looked at the stinky man and had a sort of idea. "Can you get me out of time out?" she whined, giving him very round puppy eyes and wagging her tail hopefully. Stinky man understood why she did it! So couldn't she go free now?
Ari put a gentle hand on his head. He was quite the sweetheart, wasn't he? "You want some fruit?" She cooed, looking at the few fresh banana slices and blueberries that were left. She didn't exactly feel comfortable digging around Stephan's kitchen for other things. It's not like it was her home or anything...she'd be rather rude in doing so, wouldn't she?

Steps frowned, "Well, no. I can't get you out, but I can get you something to play with if you want." And besides she hadn't been sent there for that long, it'd be over before she knew it. "Or a snack," he added, nodding to the kitchen.
Vega shook his head at the mention of more god awful fruit, "Yick!" He lifted one tiny hand from her side, pointing it toward the bottle of syrup sitting out on the corner of the counter. That! He wanted that! Crepes or pancakes or waffles, something warm and sticky.

Ina folded her arms, pouting. Obviously she couldn't rely on stinky man for much. Oh well. "Snack is good...and toy," she grumbled unhappily, her ears looking rather droopy. Stupid time outs! They always lasted forever. But at least some food and a toy would make it fun. Maybe.
Ari turned her head and followed to where Vega was pointing. Syrup...? "You can't have syrup all by itself, honey," she told him gently. Though...she supposed she could make him some pancakes or something, if Stephan had some easy ones. "Stephan...do you have any microwave pancakes...?" she asked, looking around for the other Guardian. She'd have to cut the pieces really small so they'd be safe for Vega, but one pancake should be alright. As long as he ate something, right?
