Chozi yawned as he moved through the sand slowly and carefully, a lazy smile on his face. He was slightly sleepy, but it was probably from the sun high above, beaming it's warm, protective rays on him. He hadn't wandered too far from his family; in any case his parents were a little more open to letting he and his siblings explore.
He wasn't aware that this place, these pridelands, were not actually his home. At least, his family were not official members yet. It didn't stop him though.
Black toes curled into the tickling grains of white sand, fur ruffling slightly as a salted breeze drifted past, steel blue eyes floating over the water. His smile turned to a grin and he giggled to himself, this place made him happy!

Wacheza was ankle deep in water, sitting and staring off, clearly somewhere completely different, as always. He had attracted about seven dragonflies on that particular day, which sat on his head as the waves lapped around him.
The tide hadn't been in when he had started sitting, but he hadn't really noticed quite yet. He probably wouldn't until it was nearly up to his neck. Wacheza tried not to be that careless like this normally, since more than once he had come close to be dragged out to sea by how distracted he was. On this particular day, he had woken up abruptly and still felt tired... so he had forgotten.

Chozi, so unlike his father in personality... probably more like his mother, though both parents were present in his being. Anyhow, once he spotted the rust colored 'blob' in the water he started curiously toward it. It took him a few moments to realize it was another cub, like himself! His tail flicked back and forth carefully and then he grinned. "Hi, hi!" He called out, clumsy-cub paws darting forward.
He had never met anyone outside of his family, and this looked fun! "Whatchya doin'?" He asked, now very close to the other. He had gotten right into the water and right next to Wacheza. But the cold, foreign water was a shock to the small, cheerful Chozi. Instead of looking at the other cub he was staring, wide eyed, down at his paws. Well, at the water covering them. His whole body gave a small shake, a nervous shiver. "Wow!" He exclaimed, his voice not unpleasant. He'd never actually felt the seawater before.

Wacheza blinked, as always a litle suprised when someone spoke to him and brought him out of his trance-like state. He looked over at the new cub, whom he was fairly certain that he might have seen wandering around somewhere before, and moved his head to the side, smiling.
"Oh, hello." He said calmly, watching Chozi get used to the water before noticing that he was also in it, "Oh... the water is a bit cool this morning I guess. Don't mind it, you get used to it eventually." He shook his head a little, making the dragonflies fly off... and then land back on him again.

"I've never been in the water before!" He said, matter of factly. It felt strange and good, a little dangerous though. He wasn't sure why it felt dangerous, but maybe it was that odd tug that came and went like a heart beat. Like his momma's heart beat! The motion was making him a little tired, to be honest. "M'names Chozi, do you live here too?" Unknown to Chozi was the fact that this little cub was pride born, unlike himself.
His tail flicked as he stared at the rusty colored cub, his eyes roaming freely over the other. White toes, opposites of his... very dark eyes... the only marking on him was a white diamond like shape on his face. He was plain to Chozi, who's family had markings and contained all of the colors on his pelt. Indeed he'd never seen this beautiful color before, it was almost red... but certainly very different. He glanced to his own paws, at his red 'arm warmer' like markings. Yes, Wacheza's red was much different.

"Oh... don't worry, the water won't hurt you." Wacheza said slowly, smiling, "I'm Wacheza. I was born here." He was used to other cubs not being used to the water. In his wanderings around the boarders of the pride, he had even met lions who hadn't even seen the sea before. He had become much most accustomed to lions not knowing much about it.
The cub before Wacheza was somewhat different than what he was used to though. Sure, one of his brother's was mostly white, but this cub was almost all white and black and a much brighter red than Wacheza was. It was his new companion's eyes that really caught his interest though. He had dark eyes, most of his family had green eyes... but these ones were an icey blue that Wacheza couldn't help but like. They certainly wern't the same color as the sea.

Chozi blinked and stared hard at the other and tilted his head. Oh had he heard his thoughts? He grinned and nodded. "Oh, it feels like it's pulling me though!" He exclaimed, looking out to the sea.
"Nice ta meetya Macheza."

"Wacheza... my name is Wacheza." Wacheza blinked, not understanding how the other cub could misunderstand his name. After all, it was his name. No one had ever had a probelm with it before...
"And don't worry about the pull. That's the tide." Wacheza kept explaining, "It isn't that strong right here, it won't pull you in Chozi."

Chozi glanced back, it didn't seem to phase him very much that he'd gotten the other's name wrong. 'mm' was a much funner sound to use then 'weh'. "Sorry, Wacheza." He repeated back the name, correctly this time.
Tide... the word sounded nice. He lifted a paw and splashed down, ears flicking. "Pull me into what?" He said slowly, frowning thoughtfully. He was already in the water, was there something else to be pulled into? "It doesn't change the fact that it's pulling though." He wasn't sure why the other offered an explanation as to the pulling feeling, he didn't fear being pulled anywhere.

"It's... well..." Wacheza looked out at the ocean and smiled, "It might pull you out there, into the sea, and never give you back." That didn't really seem to bother Wacheza though. In fact, the idea of dying in the ocean didn't seem so bad. Better than a lot of other options. No, Wacheza wasn't scared of the ocean he had been born next to. He liked it there.
"And I guess knowing why it pulls... doesn't change that it does it." He smiled, completely forgetting the mispoken name now, "But some people always ask why things are the way they are. Knowing doesn't make it change... it just makes it so you know."

Chozi blinked and his smile slipped just slightly. "But I didn't ask why. I just stated what it was doing..." He didn't really mind not knowing things, and liked it more when he figured things out for himself.
He fell quiet and shifted a little, slightly bored. "Wanna play a game?" He finally asked, grinning again.

Wacheza blinked and cocked his head to the side again, What kind of game?" He asked, not used to being asked. If his siblings wanted to play something, he was usually included whether he liked it or not.
He was usually fine with sitting around and doing nothing. Why was it that everyone else always wanted to do something? Oh well, sometimes games could be a lot of fun, and Chozi seemed nice.

Chozi beamed as he thought of what they could play. "Hide n' seek! Or leap frog... or tag! Maybe others can come play with us?" His head tilted slightly, tail flicking. Maybe, maybe.

"I...don't know." Wacheza said, blinking. He knew the territory almost inside out, which helped a lot when he played tag or hide-and-go-seek since he knew where vitually everything was... but he had never heard of leap frog before, "What's... leap frog?" He asked, also wondering if he could find his siblings and get them to play.

"Well.." He said slowly and thought of how to explain it. "Well it usually works better with more cubs because then there's an actual goal. But if it's just too... er.." Actually he didn't know why only two cubs ever would play it.
"Anyways we're all frogs and the goal is to see how many of the other cubs you can jump over in one go! Like.. a series of jumps." Explaining things was harder than he thought it would be!
