Timeline: 6 years before the Final Fantasy 7 Game. (Crisis Core)

THE STORY SO FAR!

This story takes place instead of the events of CRISIS CORE. Starting A little before the game, Roughly six years before the start of the Final Fantasy 7 game.

The Wutai war is almost over, having devolved into more of a "cold" war. Shinra's infamous SOLDIER army is replenishing their ranks in preparation for a final push to capture the Emperor of Wutai. However, unlike in the original Final Fantasy 7 storyline, Certain Key events are changed. Proffesor Ghast, having been rescued from death by Freyr and Ragger, is now re-infiltrating the Shinra Corporation, trying to halt the corruption before it can threaten the world. His own ranks of loyals is also expanding. and a new conflict is arising.

WHERE ARE WE NOW?

Freyr with Proffesor Ghast in tow, has just met up with Ghast's old assitant and comrade Pharalla, as well as with Freyr's old Protoge, General Sephiroth. They are currently plotting events in the General's Field Office, in the training grounds outside of Midgar. Near where some of the Newer Recruits are being Drilled.

Proffesor Hojo, unaware of his rival's return is deep within his Midgar labs, experimenting as usual.

Hojo's assitant Sujuka, is currently in the process of escorting the young Orphan Kitrina, outdoors, away from Hojo's labs, while in the process of fetching something for Hojo himself.

Meanwhile in Nibel, Morhi and Jean are heading towards Nibelheim on a mission from Hojo himself.

And this is where the story stands now!

Please enjoy and continue from this point regardless of previous posts and engagements. ... If I have neglected anyone please let me know.

What if things could be different? What if Hojo didn't succeed and Sephiroth Didn't go insane? What would happen to the world then?

This RP will start out SEEMING like the exact same story as FF7, with a few minor differences, some people aren't as dead as they were thought to be. Some small things didn't happen as they were supposed to, and those small almost over-looked discrepancies will snow-ball until it's changed Final Fantasy 7 as we know it!

- Ghast isn't dead, although Freyr is the only one who knows this at first.

(( This Role Play will take place 6 Years before the game. so ROUGHLY a year before the Nebelhiem incident. Try to keep in mind where and at what age your characters would be during this point. I will choose who plays Sephiroth and Zack for this one. ))

Sephiroth found himself once again chastizing Zack, ordering the 2nd Class SOLDIER back in line, with the threat of further delaying his already elusive promotion. He then took himself a little further away, watching to make sure that Zack fell back into place under the instruction of the First Class SOLDIER he was training under. Seeing the impulsive youth respond to his satisfaction he turned his attention back to other things. Looking out over the training feilds, and the walls of Midgar in the distance. He positioned himself underneath an awning of the feild barracks to keep the light drizzle from frizzing his hair. The last time that had happened Zack had kept on about it for a month. This brought his mind back to the new recruits, it seemed they'd had alot of 'wonder-eyed' boys wanting to join SOLDIER simply over his reputation. He thought to himself that Zack might have been dismissed with the rest of them if he hadn't proved so talented. Already he'd risen to Second Class, and he hadn't even been in SOLDIER a year yet. Sephiroth remembered how long it had taken him, as gifted as he was, even at the young age of 16 his instructers hadn't shown even an ounce of leniancy with the war looming ahead. But times had changed if someone like Zack could rise to Second Class so easily. He wondered then if the promising Gongogan youth might eventually become the fourth S-Class General. Though in Sephiroth's heart, it would be the Fifth. His own mentor may have left SOLDIER before S-Class was invented, for his own sake. But he felt, even after all this time, He'd not surpassed that brilliantly optimistic blade-master. The only member of SOLDIER who had never needed Mako infusion. With a sigh he brought himself back to the present, returning his gaze to his surroundings, and for a moment thought he hadn't quite shaken off his nostalgia as he perceived, what appeared to be a quadrapedal silhouette heading towards him through the rain, as if thoughts of the Chimera had summoned him. He shook his head and looked again, but the phantom did not disapear, and then headless of the humidity he strode purposefully to meet him. To his mind, this was either a very tasteless prank, or some unfortunate new experiment. Either way he intended to put a stop to it.

For Freyr it had been an impossibly long journey. Not that his body and stamina were in any way unequall to the inter-continenal travel he'd just endured, but the constant rests and pauses to help and comfort his charge were more exausting. Worry flooded his mind for the millionth time as he twisted around to ensure that all the blankets and the tarps were still in place protecting his passenger. He couldn't risk the frail man getting sick now. It was entirely Freyr's responsibilty at this point, he'd deliberately gone off-course, spending extra days and hours on the road when he needn't have. Luckily his charge had long since learned to sleep through just about anything, tucked safely in his little cucoon of warmth. The rain didn't bother Freyr in the slightest, the constant motion of travel kept his body tempurature up and although the dampness clung uncomfortably to the fur on his legs it was a minor thing. Even now he could see the familiar training feilds. Although it had been fourteen years since he's stepped hoof or paw onto these grounds, he remembered it as crisply as though it were yesterday. Even the sight of a young man with silver hair walking towards him purposefully, the expression of annoyance marring his delicate face...... Freyr blinked twice, Sephiroth hadn't worn a trenchcoat when he was training with Freyr. The chimera grinned broadly, what impossible luck! To have found the very kid... no MAN he wished to speak with, and relatively isolated to boot, of course Freyr had specifically been heading for Sephy's old favorite 'mope point' the little spot under the under-contruction ... well they were finished now, but the little awnings on the far side of the barracks. He ran through all the possible conversations in his mind, he had so much to talk about... so much to explain, but when it came right down to it the only thing he could really settle on was, "Hi.... Long time no see eh?" What else could he say after fourteen years? He felt a twinge of regret, He'd almost always known what Sephiroth had been up to, but the silver-haired young man probably hadn't heard a word about him.

((Posting as Sujuka for this one!))

Sujuka wandered in the lonely corridors of Professor Hojo's work building. He was reluctant to attempt the next phase of Hojo's plan. Mainly for the singular fact that it would involve possible mutations and then following up with covering more evidence. Sujuka hated when experiments went wrong. And often times he made sure that they didn't, if only to please Hojo. This time the experiment was a little different. A little more wild in terms of idea. No one would be able to imagine this one. No one whose mind was not as brilliant as his beloved mentor and idol. The only problem that persisted was a certain few doctors agains this plan and some SOLDIER boys who'd gotten their minds too close to figuring out what the basic idea was. Worsely concluded he'd felt it was too risky to bring an outsider into such an experiment and so offered himself as the man's private work board for whatever he needed to test. He'd done it many times before, and now was no different, but he couldn't help feel a little queasy about this one. 'I trust Hojo. And he shall succeed if it is meant to be.' He thought to himself finding his way out of the building, in order to catch a quick fresh breath of air to rid himself of the normally stagnant air of the laboratory.

Down in that "stagnant" labratory, Hojo was going about his work. Well, not his usual work, today was for cleaning up-- he had nothing to cut open and examine today so he elected to get his rooms under control.

At present he was thumbing snidely though his files on the last Ancient, cross-organized with Dr.Gast's file.
"Ah...Faramisu...you poor b*****d..." Hojo laughed to himself, looking at pride at the "Terminated" scrawled beside the man's status as he slid the files into their proper place.

"Organized. Everything...organized and neat. In control. IN control of EVERYTHING." Hojo whispered to himself as he worked, a mantra betrayed by his rapidly fraying, graying ponytail.

He stacked his books and settled them on thier respective shelves, pausing to rub his aching fingers.
"I hate getting old." He croaked to the silence. "Ha! Time...you ought to be the NEXT thing I overcome, eh?"

Sujuka sauntered back into the lab. He was feeling lightheaded upon reentry. Apparently fresh air had become nearly a toxin to one who never ventured outside save for necessary errands. "So much for the fresh air idea." He poked his head inside Hojo's office. His dark, blackish hair spilled over his shoulder and down the front of his button lab coat. He pushed his glassed up with his ring finger and grinned a little.

"Master Hojo~!" Sujuka grinned. "Your faithful accomplice has returned once again to your aid!" His cheery disposition only proove to contrast to the Professors obsessive one. Hojo never seemed to mind his unusual behavoir, and actually let him get away with more mishaps and outlashes than most. And the only price he ever paid was being loyal to Hojo to the highest degree.

Hojo blinked at Sujuka for a moment, silent and glaring, before returning to his organization.

Hojo was not at all fond of Sujuka's hyper dispostion but the boy was studious and intelligent and that alone saved him from his superior's temper.

"Good. You can start by cleaning all the instruments." Hojo snapped.

"As you wish Master Hojo!" Sujuka replied starting to gather the items carefully for sterilization. He often tested the patience of his superior, but he was not stupid enough to maintain that peppy attitude beyond mere moments. In truth. He was as serious as the next doctor when the moment called for it. He spent hours behind Hojo's back making sure that every little thing was running as smoothly as possible. Lest something disrupt his idol when he is most busy.

"Professor," He started, knowing fully that Hojo disapproved of being called Master Hojo, "Might I inquire, respectfully asking of course, what you're intending in your next procession? Seeing as I am planned your test specimin, I'm just a little curious to know. but if you decline me, I'll say nothing more."

The warrior blinked, hardly believing his eyes, then finally, without missing a beat he smoothly drew his sword, the blade sliding through the air at an impossible speed, reversing somewhere along the way to connect solidly against the side of Freyr's head, as the chimera flinched, just a shade to slow (in his eyes at least). "That's for all the times I missed." He said calmly, though his face held a fond grin, "I heard you were dead."

Freyr smiled slowly, his face inevitably returning to the grin that only reluctantly left his face. He'd expected perhaps a little more surprise from his Protoge, but then the boy had always been quick to adapt, and even quicker to try and maintain his self-impossed stoicism. Nevertheless Freyr felt the stregth in the silver-haired man's arms, the blade had connected mostly with Freyr's rifle, which he had quickly adjusted slightly across his human shoulders when he'd percieved Sephiroth's intent. But even that hadn't been quit enough to save him from a little jarring. Time seemed to slip away, how often had they done this during the months before the Wutai war? "Now whoever told you that?" He inquired with a broad wink.

The little, well, not exactly little, she was taller than most girls her age, 8 1/2 year old Kitrina was used to wandering around the ShinRa buildings. She'd been doing that since she was brought there about four years ago by the nice man who found her wandering the streets of Midgar. She hadn't seen that man since he told her to stay either within the main building or in the other ShinRa buildings.

This day brought the blonde, blue-eyed child to the very building Professor Hojo worked in. Kit had found a door that wasn't always locked because of its location, and used that to slip inside.

Once inside, Kit began wandering around once more.

He scowled, withdrawing his sword, he tried to work out in his mind what he shold say, but couldn't come up with anything, "Haven't lost your edge, what're you doing here? Aren't you basically a deserter?" He regarded him, perhaps just a hint of malice in his expression, though more hurt than anything else. Freyr was just about the only man alive who could detect that under his calm stoic mask.

Freyr's smile became a little more sheepish. "Well.... about that...." He began, rubbing the back of his head with one hand. "See... I was kinda... undercover..." The chimera hesitantly tried to explain, now resorting to poking the ends of his index fingers together, "I had some stuff to take care of... and... well... it was complicated..." He lifted his gaze back to Sephiroth's own, unable to resist smiling again, "I can't write!" He suddenly spouted displaying his own broad hands, "the pens are too small...."

Pharallah stalked in on the situation and kindly punched Zack in the back of the head. "That's for lighting my bow case on fire!"

Zack whined pitiously. He was by no means actually hurt. Pharallah was his equal but Zack had a much higher tolerance for pain than the skinny archer. "Oh Pharah-chu don't be so mean to me, it's not MY fault you just entice me to do such things!"

"Entice! Entice he says! Dare I ask thee, do you KNOW what that word even means!"

"Of course I know! I mean...it means...Well I. DO. KNOW!"

"Oh PLEASE. Oh...I'm sorry Krad...i hadn't meant to thrust myself in." He snorted. "But you know I'm likely to do that from time to time! You forgive me don't you?" He pleaded innocently, veering his sight away from it's supposes subject. He could see Sephiroth and another figure. A longer figure. He paused, not hearing the man he was talking to. "Oh my...can that..." He suddenly perked. "Sorry Master Krad!" He quickly added before running off in Sephiroth's direction to confirm a suspicion.

Hojo gave Sujuka a less than assuring smile.
"I'll tell you, boy, once I've worked out all the kinks and snags to make sure it's absolutely perfect." He said, obsessively straightening a pile of papers. "But you will know, I won't let you go onto my table without informing you." Hojo adjusted his glasses. "I respect you too much, I think, to treat you like my common labrats."
