Coconut Pie
Okay, if you were about to be dropped into an ocean with no land for miles and miles, would you hope that the water was scaldingly hot, or freezing cold?
I'd go for cold, because hopefully I'd go numb before it gets painfully chilly.
Well, first, one must take into consideration the many possible outcomes of said drop... like... first and foremost, who and/or what would be dropping me, and why? Those things would definitely weigh heavily upon my decisions, mainly per say, should they wish me to be dropped into hot boiling water, I would opt for cold, simply because it would be the opposite of their wishes. Secondly, I think the depth of the water is probably a key element, as if it's too shallow, one would probably die before water temperature would make a noticeable difference, to be sure. Also, distance from land is something to take into consideration while the drop is pending. If one is far away from land, then I suppose it wouldn't matter... however, if one would land closer to the beach, perhaps, then one would be smart to opt for cold water, as cold water offers a more veritable chance to survive while heading toward said land.
Of course, seeing as cold water has a higher rate of survivability, that is probably the one I would choose. That, and I find it hard to believe that anybody dropping anyone into water would have made the decision beforehand, and thus wouldn't have a chance to find a place where the water is boiling hot... and with that, I suppose that the default water temperature for the majority of people dropped into large bodies of water is probably cold anyway.
...but that's just what I think.
Of course, I might just choose hot... because if I'm being dropped by anyone into hot water, it means they totally put alot of effort and time into planning the drop, and I probably deserve it as such. Also, it means they tricked me into coming with them into plane/boat/car/whatever from whence they planned to drop me, and for that, I commend them.
