You know the rules!

Noc- Could you please post Cerek's pic?

Marahute had been grown for some time now, but she found herself not really engaging in many meetings between others as she was quite fond of the time she would spend with herself. She enjoyed the quiet, with only the birds to sing to her.

But she had to admit, sometimes she wished she wasnt so lonely. She was sick of the by herself thing. She wanted to dance with someone.. But she couldnt find her sister, and she was sure her brother wouldnt..

Cerek had recently come to the realization that he was all grown up. Yes, he still maintained a very close relationship with his brother and mother, but he'd also found himself wanting to...escape. He loved the feeling of galloping as a fast as his strong legs could carry him, to feel the wind tangling in his heavy braids. It was one of these 'escapes' that landed him where he was.

Cerek slowed his breakneck speed in a small clearing, his hooves raking up small piles of dirt as they dug into the earth to stop his large, sweat-drenched body. His nostrils flared widely, gasping huge lung-fulls of air into his chest. A delighted glimmer hovered in his azure eyes as he danced in place a moment. It was such a relief to get out finally. Now if only he had someone to look at besides his brother...

The Palomino golden mare had just settled into the new enviroment. It had crystal water that smelled of life and snow.. Yes, the water smelled of snow, and it relaxed her. She hadn't yet seen snow, but she was sure, that was how it smelled.

She dipped her head, taking a drink and then lifted it, licking her tongue along her muzzle as to keep herself from 'drooling.'

When she raised her head, she saw a dark stallion.. He had a creme brown underbelly, and braids in his hair, like her teepee mate Micah.
He had lovely eyes, and she was sure, that he was the prettiest thing she'd ever seen.

"'Lo?"

Water. That was what the young male needed more than anything right now. Ears swivelling, he stretched out his muscular neck so he could smell, hear, and see just a bit better. It wasn't long before he discovered the faint sound of running water. How perfect. Easing forward at a slow walk, he followed the sound. So intent was he on the crisp, clear water that he didn't even noticed the golden female until a faint word fluttered to his ear.

Sadly, Cerek had had no interaction with another female before, besides his mother. And while he was loud and boisterous around his close family members, the young dark stallion was absolutely lost for words. His bright eyes blinked once...twice...thrice...He cleared his throat, shifting on his heavy hooves. Glancing about a bit to make sure the mare was addressing him, his voice came out a bit shakier than normal. "Um...Hello..."

How very suave of him...Cerek winced internally, boxing his own ears. He could surely do better than that.

She looked at him oddly, cocking her head as if analyzing him in a criminal fashion. Really, she was trying to figure out if she'd scared him, or if he was shy.

She was fighting herself with whether to speak, or excuse herself as to not cause him to be more frightened.
She offered him a kind smile, and even though she was usually very flat out and uncaring, she didnt want him to be frightened of her.

"Dont be scared of me."
She said, losing to herself, but winning as well. She had finally decided just to speak.

"I dont bite on Mondays." She said smiling.

What was with him? This wasn't how he normally acted at all. True, his socializing with others outside of his family was minimum...but that didn't mean he had to be shy and unsure of himself. His mother and brother tolerated his full-of-himself attitude (most of the time), and seemed fond of him...So why not others?

This was much easier said than done, however. His returning smile was slow to come, and somewhat shaky, but it soon found a stable place on his soft muzzle. It was an awfully handsome smile as well, with his damp locks of black and silver falling in every direction. Tail swishing at the blades of grass beneath his feet, the stallion moved forward a few steps. "Rest assured that I'm not scared," his voice warm in lieu of the quivering notes beforehand. It was a rather pleasing voice, deep, but not too deep.

Mane falling over a single blue eye, he tilted his head to the side. An airy chuckle escaped him as his confidence grew. "Then I guess it's fortunate for me that today is Monday." His quest for water forgotten, the stallion stepped forward another few scant steps. His head bowing slightly, he posed a question. "And what, if I may ask, is your name, fair maiden?"

Much better.

She smiled, and looked at the ground.

"Fair is a word Im called little and far in between." She said, brown choclate eyes shinging.

Her curled tail flicking against her body in an attempt to shake away any fly that dare trespass.
She smiled, her own voice uplifting, and bright.. As a young mare, she was very lovely, and she so resembled her mother. The likeness was eerie.

"My name tis Marahute, Mara for those who dont like to say it all at once."
She smiled.
"And yours?"

Cerek was loosening up, easing into his normal, flirtacious personality. His head was held high and alert, a suave grin on his tan muzzle. "I don't see how that's even possible. What lowly pig couldn't see your beauty?" he chuckled, eyes closing in a moment of amusement. This was going much better than earlier.

Cerek himself resembled his grandfather, or so his mother had told him. As for his father...Cerek had never known him, not was he eager to. He strongly believed that the stallion had up and left, without a care for his mother. As a young colt, he'd naively thought his father didn't exist and that his mum was just special.

"While Marahute is a very lovely name, I believe I'll stick with Mara myself. That is...if you don't mind," he said. The whole while he was talking, his large hooves carried him forward until he was just a few scant feet from the golden mare. "Cerek. Sadly, that's the only variation of it." His tail flicked at his back legs, the beads clinking noisily together. "So, Madame Mara, what brings you out to such a lonely spot this wonderful afternoon?"

She blushed a bit, but eyed him with chocolate orbs under dark, black eyelashes.

"You say such kind words. But you really know me not, and therefore, would have a very hard time deciding if I was fair at heart or not."

She offered, giving him a smile, and a bit of a laugh.
She loved his braids, she wanted to play with them like she played with uncle Micah's. They just hung there, and it was almost like it screamed: PULL ME!. She gave a giggle at the thought and looked back up at him, eyes coming from the grass to meet his marvelous blue oceanic orbs.

"And I would love for you to call me Mara.. Like I said earlier, very few people call me friend, so the term is used hardly ever.: She huffed, smiling with golden lips.

"Cerek eh? Why that is absolutely darling! I daresay, thats one of the best I've heard yet." She nodded, and responded.
Stomping a darkened hoof, she pawed at the ground.

"Lonely times bring me out here, but I must ask you the same. WHy is such a handsome boy out here all alone?"
PostPosted: Tue Apr 03, 2007 5:34 pm

Cerek squirmed happily on the inside at the golden mare's blush. At least one of his goals was now accomplished. "One does not have to know the deepest secrets of another's heart to decide if they are fair or not. The eyes are the windows to the soul, they say (though I believe it's horribly cliche), and you, Mara, do have fair eyes." God, he was such a flirt.

The dark stallion twitched the muscles along his neck, shooing flies. The simple spasm sent his tempting braids in every direction, the blue beads glinting brightly in the sunlight. He was the only one in his small family to have the thick, long mane, and he was dreadfully proud of it. "You? With not many friends?" His bright eyes widened in shock. "If there was not such honesty in your voice, I would think it an absolute lie. How is it not possible that you don't have dozens of eager suitors following you?"

Now it was his turn to blush. The stallion turned his gaze to the ground, pawing at the grass with one dark hoof. "Why, thank you. I've always found it dreadfully simple," he said softly, glancing up shyly amidst a mass of black and silver. "I'm out here...to have a moment of peace," he laughed, leaving it at that. Any moment away from his brother was peaceful...for the other stallion, at least. Ears swiveling forward, a concerned look took over his features. "Lonely? How could one so lovely ever be lonely?"

She smiled, and stepped closer to him, knowing now, he was no threat, and she didnt see him becoming one. The only threatening thing he was doing, was making her blush like crazy.

"If eyes are windows to the soul, your soul must be like the oceans waves, crashing on shore and washing away the dirty sand, to replace it with the white lovely sand you get every now and then. And nothing sounds more cliche' than that." She mused.

She thought of his friend question, and she knew the answer.
"Well.. No one really likes the attitude I have.. See, they like to think IM like my mother, meek and gentle.. But as it is, I am not.. And then when they meet me, they are completely thrown off. And they dont like that. Suitors are rare, when you are so ready to run.."

She flicked her golden chocolate tipped tail against her rump, brushing away any offending fly, dare it land on her.

" Like I said before.. Im not like my family. My dad is like my mom, kind and naive.. Believing the world is good and happy.. when we all know its a lie. My brother is the ladies man, who could have any girl he likes, and he flaunts it.. My sister, shes more like me, but she is happy alone. I am not.
Oh Bother! I am so rude. What of your family?"

She offered him a smile.

If that was Cerek's only threat, then he'd have to be as threatening as possible. But as the golden mare's words reached his ears, a genuine flush stained the skin beneath his thick coat. No one had ever really complimented him before...Besides his mother, and those never counted, as mothers are required to compliment their strapping young sons. "That's awfully sweet of you to say, Mara," he said, his voice low and with the tiniest hint of quiver within it.

His head raised again at the mention of personalities. He was mildly confused. What should it matter if a daughter was different from her mother? "Personally, I think meek and gentle is lovely...but rather boring. Mares that are young and beautiful shouldn't have to act prim and proper - they should be allowed to get dirty, and run, and fly like the beautiful birds they are," he said, grinning at her. His hooves carried him forward again, circling around her. He paused as he head neared her flanks, craning his neck backwards to look at her. "But what if the suitors are just as ready to run?" he said coyly, winking one cerulean eye at Mara.

He came back around the other side of the mare, lowering his head a moment to drink. "My family? It's...rather small. It's just my mother, brother, and me. My brother and I are exact opposites, which only ends with me messing with him constantly," he chuckled. "My mother is rather similar to me, however, though not quite as rambunctious as I tend to be. Or so she tells me."

"If the stallion is just as ready to run as the mare, then I'd say we have something. Do you think you're up for the challenge?" She asked, smiling, and circling him as well.

"Meek is boring.. My mother is dreadfully dull, bless her heart. I love her, but Im not like her. I'm more like my mothers sister she left behind years ago.. Or so she tells me.. Which I dont think is quite the compliment, but I'll never let on that I know that."

She smiled athim, winking at him with dark orbs.

"It's good you are close to your family. God knows I am not.. My sister and I are best friends, but I dont see her much.. My brother, well Ive only seen him 3 times.. And My mom and dad are usually together. Everyone else is close. But me.. I guess Im looking for someone to fix that."

She said, smiling at him.

Cerek stopped his circling of Mara. "My father...well. I've never known my father...I've never met him once, and my mother doesn't seem to want to talk about him too terribly much. I supposedly have a sister as well, but I've never seen her either," he said, only the mildest hint of forlornness in his voice. Shrugging his muscular shoulders, he let a grin slip onto his muzzle yet again. His head tossed, scattering his braids away from his bright eyes.

"Well, then we'll just see what kind of repairs have to be done, no?" Laughing lightly, he turned and pranced away a few steps before coyly looking over his shoulder. "But I think the question here, my dear Mara, is whether you can keep up?" And with that, he reared just slightly, allowing his strong back legs to propel him forward. It was a challenge of speed, though Cerek was one of those gentlemanly types that would allow a mare to win just a scant few times before claiming victory for himself.

((sorry that took so long to reply - was busy all day. ; ; ))

Marahute felt ashamed for bringing up a family whom he apparently didnt know, but she could see he would like to know. She gave him a small grin, to mask the sorry look on her face, and twitched her tail.

Her chocolate eyes smiled as he smiled.
She hoped he wasnt too upset about the topic. She shook her head, shaking her golden mane down her shoulders.

"Ah, well. I can keep up farely well. Well enough that the chivilarous stallion, would not have to give up his own victory for me."

She winked, and pushed off the ground with her hind legs. Her front legs hit the ground, and she was off, grass and dirt flying from her hooves.

She might as well have been flying. Her mane and tail billowing like golden wings.
