It had been the first time Topher had been out from the chip, he really didn't even know what happened. Just that he felt a tingle after his fight with the labs secretary and was knocked out. He had awaken to find his duplex all covered in dust and a clock that claimed it was August 29, "What tha' hail... Sophie!" Topher excaimed to himself running around putting his hat and boots on before running out. If the clock were right, and Topher was gullible enough to believe it especially after all that he had been told, he had let the poor girl down. He was going to try his hardest to explain to her it wasn't over yet.
The problem was Topher had no clue where she lived. Weird animal things were also running around frantically, but he did his best to avoid them, putting his head down low whenever one came by, his eyes hidden by his hat. Where would he find her? He didn't even know where to start.

Bobby woke up, and not feeling all that great. She hated those chips.... it was something she had absolutely no control over; and Roberta Reynolds hated the that feeling this Island gave in abundance. For awhile, the pig just stared at the ceiling and assessed the 'damage'. Her mouth was horribly dry and her obese body demanded nutrients.
With a disgruntled snort, Bobby rolled out of bed and grabbed food from her ever-present pile. Dancer started to wake up about that time. Immediately, the dog went to the door and sat expectantly. When Bobby didn't move fast enough, she yelped and barked, demanding to go outside.
Finally, she relented. Evidentally the dog was just as neglected as she was? Bobby didn't keep a clock or any kind of time-telling device, so for the moment the biggest part of the prank missed her.
Dancer stayed close as they walked. She ran a few strides and then came right back, just like always. She may chase a bird and tree it, but returned like the loyal pooch she was - head high and bum-tail wagging happily.
Then, Bobby noticed the dog go on a different route. Over time she had gotten used to Dancer's greetings... and as the dog ran off this time, her voice announcing her shrill barking Bobby realized the dog smelled someone and was going to say 'hi'.
Given some of the dangerous Islanders, she didn't think that was too good an idea. "Dancer! Come back!" and then... Bobby was off running for the dog in her lumbering kind of run.
The dog ignored her owner, and went straight for the hidden human. Dancer jumped up on him, barking and demanding some loving.
Bobby still ran, quite a bit farther behind now. Her face was puffed up, trying to get breath and cool down her large body. She was anything but graceful, and her face was contorted with effort. "Dah-" she choked out between gasps. Why did running have to be so much trouble now?

Topher was surprised to find a dog jumping up on him. He looked at the thing in horror. "Hello?" He asked hopeing it was indeed just a dog and not an ex human. "Can ya talk littl'... " He peeked under, no equipment. "Lady?"
He was even more surprised to do a sow lady come slowly jogging towards him, "Dancer huh?" He asked looking at the dog. "Why I sure as hell hope yer just a mutt and not some one. Is... she?" He asked the pig girl his eyes widening on her. Was that his fate? To become a farm animal? This all seemed too much, something HAD to be done.

Dancer squeaked slightly when Topher peeked, but as she didn't understand the dog quickly recovered and jumped back on the man's hip, whining for some more petting.
Bobby finally caught up, and almost fell on the corner of the building nearby. She could hardly breath, and all eight breasts heaved with her attempts to clear her lungs. The pig nodded her head, trying to comfort the man that as far as she knew, Dancer was a normal dog. "Danc-... er" she gasped, the dog turned back at the sound of her mistress's voice, "... is... dog.... I.. think."
Dancer enjoyed the attention from the human - her 'parents' were nice but sometimes opposable thumbs were nice and could reach places hooves and paws could not. Meanwhile, Bobby rested and didn't speak again until her breath returned.
"Sorry... my endurance is not what it once was." Bobby finally stood and took one last, deep breath. "But, yes... as far as myself and Pyroth know... Dancer's always been a dog. We were afraid at first that she was... turned... like others... but doubt it. Pyroth turned to a coyote and he is definately much larger than the normal animal. Dancer is the size of a dog." When Bobby had talked about her Pyroth, he voice took on a wistful quality, it had been awhile since she saw him, and she missed her bundle of coyote love.

"Jus' a dog huh? How can ya be sure this aint gonna happen to us over time?" He asked her inqusitively. "I aint gonna let that happen to me. And I'll be damned if this is what happens to Sophie..." Topher shook his head sadly. "I'm geussin' ya use to be human too?" He asked the pig lady. How sad was that, a woman turning into a pig with multiple breast? Topher did like breast but he had to admit that was pretty hideous. Human women were suppose to have TWO not eight. He tried not to stare in horror too hard.
"So ya know one that looks like a cai-yote?" He asked her. "Hail when does this..." He pointed to Bobby, "Stop?" He hoped not everyone was going to end up looking completely like their animals. He didn't want to look anything like an animal at all, let alone turn completely into one. This was a new aspect of the horror to him.

"We cannot be too sure..." Bobby whistled softly and Dancer came to her. The pig pet the dog lovingly, more than just how a woman would to a pet. "But we are pretty sure. If you meet Pyroth, I think you'll know what I mean. And he was human, but I never saw him as such." Her eyes sparkled. "He was always at least part coyote to me." Bobby ignored the roaming eyes, by now she had gotten used to them... and no amount of self-pity was going to make it stop.
"Stop? I cannot be too sure... but I think my own is done. Up to now, everything didn't seem to work right... the bones and functions. Usually, I had to spend weeks to get used to my legs changing but this last time..." Bobby shook her head witha sad smile, "I could finally move somewhat expenctantly." That made no sense in words, even to herself....
"Yes, Pyroth is a coyote, and looks almost exactly like one just very large and...." Bobby snorted on her words, he probably didn't want the details of their encounters.

"Y'all ever try to 'scape?" Topher asked gulping. Was he doomed to live his life as a animal person? "I'm frightfully sorry for yer... friend Py-ron?" He asked not quite remembering the odd name. "Names Topher by the way, I jus' woke up to it bein' four months later. I was spose ta be back home by now..." His voice trailed off thinking of what his friends thought of his disapearance. They knew he would be gone for a couple of weeks, perhaps a month but FOUR? No one had expected him to fall off the face of the planet.
"I promised Sophie I would tell the labs what for, but just got the brush off. They aint got no respect for a man like me I reckon. Then I felt this buzz and was knocked out for four months. Luckily I aint changed yet." At least he had THAT going for him. "Ya think that means I aint changin' I sure as hail don' want to." But he would feel bad for the other islanders he met that HAD changed if he didn't. "What was tha' jolting tingalay feelin' I got back then anyhow?" He was obviously full of questions.

Bobby snorted, "Escape?" She looked up at him. A spark of anger went through her eyes but it quickly went away once the laziness of the pig took control. "What would be the point? I cannot go back to my husband... my children... not like this. There is no 'cure' for our condition.... and I highly doubt the good doctor will let his little guinea pigs roam the world freely. You're not going home, Topher..." the pig sighed sadly and shook her head, "None of us are... not even when we die." Bobby thought back to the graveyard.
She listened carefully, and then cocked her head to the side. "They have no respect for any of us here. Why should they? To them, we are worse than criminals... we're beasts." Bobby eyed the Topher, "Four months? Have four more months really gone by so fast? How long did they keep us asleep the time?" Those comments were more under her breath.
"The jolt," Bobby said, coming back to the conversation, "is the result of a chip they put on our spines. It's to keep us under 'control'. As far as I know, all of the non-lab members -and even some of them too- turn into something. If you got you Island shot, you're going to turn." She watched Topher very carefully for a response. If he attacked, Bobby had no trouble to try and defend Dancer -who didn't know better to not trust someone.

"If there's a will there's a way!" Topher replied. If the scientist could turn then into animals, Topher believe he could be turned back, "I'm sorry miss but it's rightfully sad ya just gave up like that. I may be outta place thar but if I had a misses and some hatchlins' to look afta I would be swimmin' off of this here island whether I done looked like an animal or not." He shook his head, it was sad she had given up so easily. "But I aint, so I'm gonna do my darn best to help y'all out! Ya can laugh at me all ya like, but when I've done taken down all those scientist and am wavin' bye on the boat y'all can see if ya laugh at me then. Course, yer welcome to tag along." His words were sincere at this, he really thought he COULD escape and he was full of himself enough to think he was the one. Sophie's words reassured him.
"Ale let em know I aint no beast, I'm a man jus' as much as yer a lady an 'spite all that there changin' you know you aint no pig!" He wasn't going to attack, he was no where near attacking. Mostly he felt sorry for this woman that had given up on all hope. "They may have me on a 'lectric collar but I'll chew threw my own neck if I hafta'. I done up and promised Sophie I'd get her off the island and make them there docs turn her back and I aint one to break a promise." He smiled and shook his head. Maybe he would change, maybe she was right about that but he would get them to make it all better. He could do anything he put his mind to, or at least that is what he convinced himself.

Bobby watched Topher with a rather pathetic look in her eyes. She knew what he said was true, but she had spent so much time in despair and false hope.... it was just getting to be too painful. No, it was better that her family believe her dead than feel that they owe her anything. That way, they could move on... she could move on. No matter what this cowboy said, Bobby knew she would not fit in out there anymore. She couldn't go back to her life -she just proved that with her little job here.
"Your words and hopes are admirable, Mr. Topher," Bobby nodded her head respectfully. "I have been here for well over a year now if your time-jump is correct. Hope just makes this place less tolerable." And, did she want to go back? Did she want to leave Pyroth, Dancer, the friends she had made here?
Bobby looked out West, near Home. Her eyes glazed as she thought about her lifestyle, the one that she could not go back to. Dancer whined, for the petting stopped, and brought the pig out of her reverie. She turned and looked back at Topher, "I am a woman, with the appearance of a pig... and the extra baggage that entails" she murmured, "and I may not help you directly..." Bobby remembered some of the announcements of attacks and punishment -did escape attempts count?- "..but I will help in other ways if you'd like." So much for her vow to help the weaker, bring about justice, and aid a true cause. Yes, Bobby Reynolds had changed in more ways than one.

Topher nodded, "I can see how you could give up ma'am but ta hell if I aint gonna ever give up." He replied. "Thanks for the offer but I can see ya seem to like it here. Ya got friends and a new life. I don't plan on gettin' that comfy." He tipped his hat. "Ya happen to know where Sophie's place is? I didn't think to ask and I figure she's probably hatin me right now for not keeping my promise." He seemed way too worried about that, "But I do plan on keepin that!" Topher scruffed his boots into the ground shuffling about.

Bobby sighed and fought an angry retort. He was young, and subject to naive notions -not to mention denial. She was tempted to slap his cowboy-hat off his head and make him realize that he was not leaving... teach him to tip his hat at her! For a moment, she remembered why she hadn't cared for cowboys... they were too... proper! Dancer caught on to Bobby's emotions and leaned in closer to Bobby's leg. The dog tried to disract her mistress.
"Sophie?" Bobby said, forcing her teeth to unclench. "No, I have not met anyone named Sophie. If she's a new arrival, she'd be on the end... I can try and show you."

Topher remained oblivious to the fact he was annoying Bobby. He was used to annoying 'yanks' whenever interacting so had kind of blocked off the fact that it was easy to do. Was no use in worrying about it because he was who he was, a southern hick and he loved it. Nothing was going to stop him from being a cowboy because to him it was real, not just an image. "That would be awefully kind of you ma'am." He said smiling. "I sure would 'preciate that!" Despite the fact he was going to turn into a hideous monster he remained chipper because in his head he won over the labs before any of that happened. He was the cowboy in any western film, arriving just in time to save the damsel in distress and beating the evil villian to save all around. It was really REAL to him... yet

Bobby chose to ignore the gentlemen attitude.... she still wasn't used to it and it ranked on her nerves just the wrong way. Inside, she knew he was just being nice... and that was probably the only thing keeping her from wiping away his smile. Well, he should enjoy his time being human.... she guessed.
"This way, sir" Bobby grunted piggishly and turned right to lead the way to the high-number duplexes. "Did Sophie say what duplex number she was in? And how did you come to this Island? A cowboy is a very different kind of person than the others..." She tried to change the topic, stop concentrating on the fact Topher was not taking the facts of the Island to heart.

"Why ya can jus' call me Topher." He corrected her as he followed the pig girl, "Nah I done up an forgot to ask her. Geuss'n that wasn't the brightest thing now was it?" He put on a sheepish smile.
Then Bobby had asked how he got on the island, he wanted to lie so bad but figured that would get God off his side right now. Normally Topher wasn't a religious person but he figured he needed all the help he could get to get his butt of the island. Best to keep things straight and narrow right now.
He frowned at the thought, "Well I was out with my buddies one night drinkin'" No need to mention it was at a strip club.... " an' found myself with no cash for a cab, an' my buddies already had split. So I figure I would drive home, not the brightest thing. I would of been fine had that tail light fixed. Y'all would think a mechanic would keep on such a thing." He smiled at himself and shook his head, "Nah, well I didn' and done got pulled over by a cop. At the trial I done thought I got off easy, being sent to rehab at a tropical island." He waved his hands about still keeping that s**t eating grin on his face. "But this is it I take it. Not so easy now that I look at it." He kept the grin to hide his embarrassment over the fact he was out drinking and driving. It was one of the dumbest things he had done in his life, but he didn't think he needed to pay that hard for it.
