(Jasmine: 50% Chilean Flamingo)
For most Islanders on the cooler-than-usual day, it was a paradise for only the day while they were stuck; Jasmine was no exception. The girl had made herself a cozy spot near a small rock-bedded creek in the open areas of the forest with all of her drawing equipment. The picture she was making was of two celestial characters on white horses welcoming a fallen warrior to Valhalla. Jasmine really hadn't paid much attention while she took two years of mythology, but she understood what a lot of it was. The girl soon put down her pencil and sketchbook, making sure they didn't fall in the water as she stood and stretched. The stance was still an odd one, as she had only experienced the new positions in her bones for about a week.

((Cecil: 50% Northern Mockingbird))
Cecil sighed, he's been doing that a lot lately. It felt like the rest of his life was unfolding like a Mastercard commercial.
Feathers- $0
Shoulder Wings- $0
Beak- $0
Funky bird feet- $0
Fact that you're stuck on an island for the rest of your life- Priceless.
That didn't mean he wasn't getting used to things. Like all human- Well, partial humans, he got used to it. It was human... It was just nature. What he really wanted to was see if this transformation did anything with his vocal chords at all, if he could make any audible sound that was loud enough, maybe this whole thing wouldn't be completely worthless after all. Balancing on his grown talons, he walked over to the creek, still not quite used to this whole bird feet business.
He must've tripped over something, because he suddenly fell, and let out a loud SQUAWK!

Jasmine's blue eyes fell to the water as she found a school of small fish. She opened her beak a little, her mind only thinking of a quick snack.
SQUAWK!
Her long neck pulled her head to an almost 360 degree turn to where she heard the voice, her akward feet now rushing her towards it.

What. Was. That.
Cecil got up, that was him, wasn't it? He didn't know whether to jump for joy, or twitch in slight disgust that such a inhuman note came out of his mouth... Beak. Oh screw it, he's at the halfway point, there wasn't any turning back at any rate.
That's when he felt the vibration on the ground with his bird-feet, his wings twitched, wanting to get out of the way, but he knew better then to try. Ah well, if there was anything to get out of this whole serum business, it was to know what another species felt like, which was admittedly pretty cool. Cecil tilted his head, and found the source of the vibration, feathers... Pink feathers. Another bird?
Cecil gave a small wave, and took out a notebook from his jean pockets, ready to talk when it was time.

The bird-boy had definatly startled Jasmine when she arrived to him, but she held her hand to him, offering to help him up.When she watched his movements, however, she aknowledged him bringing out the book. "I think I remember this guy..." She thought, going over the meetings with ohters in her mind. "But what's his name again?"

It's so hard to recognize people when they change! Literately and figuratively. Cecil knew he saw her somewhere before, but that must've been a pretty long time ago. They were both growing feathers, and wings, and legs. God, this was awkward. He knew having things in common with someone you knew was a good thing, but geez... He grabbed a pen in his pocket with a feathered hand and wrote,
I swear we've met before somewhere. He showed it to her.

Jasmine looked at the handwriting, then at the boy again- oh, now she knows. Ce..... C-Ceceil, right?" She asked meekly, trying to force a smile from her long beak. She remembered the boy, he was the silent one with some throat cancer.

Cecil nodded. Yep, they've definitely met.
Still... It was so.... awkward.
So she was turning into a bird too? She made Cecil feel better, he wasn't the only one falling down. Nothing like someone to relate to.
Yeah, it's me, been through some growing pains, you too, huh? Cecil wasn't about to ask what her name was again, he didn't want to seem impolite.

Jasmine nodded slowly. "Yeah..." She pointed to one of her legs bending it it's new way. "That's the worst, though. " She heaved a sigh in her mind, glad that it was someone the girl was more comfortable with than some stranger.

I hate walking with these things. Cecil wrote, lifting one of his legs while giving her the notebook to read. They felt heavier, like a huge unbreakable cast was put on them.
Worse part is... He began to write with the notebook still in Jasmine's hands, I'm still talking with this thing. :~) The little face at the end trying to say that he was okay with it, but in reality, he wasn't.
There was a pause, his pen still on the paper.
I hate having wings. He wrote, changing subject, Especially with everything in my brain telling me to fly... -.-;;

"Yeah... I'm glad mine aren't that heavy... I mean- I can deal with the different bone placements, but I'm too frail to carry those around..." The girl gave a small laugh. Reading his comment on his voice, she seemed to bow her head. "I'm sure the labtechs are working on it..." Jasmine then blinked at the meek sound of her voice, knowing that she didn't sound very confident.

You know, all of this talk about wings is giving me the crazy idea to jump off a cliff and try... Seriously. Wanna come along?
Cecil pointed to the water fall in the distance, it looked like one of those waterfalls where you saw people jump off for kicks, the water below seemed deep enough to cushion a fall as steep as that.
What was he thinking? He wasn't really. It's just that instinct pestering him over and over again to try.

Cecil's question startled the girl. "Wha?" Uh... Isn't that... Dangerous?" Jasmine looked at the waterfall, becoming even more unsettled.

Cecil smiled, and wrote down, And injecting people with animal serums and growing wings isn't?
He began to walk over to the waterfall, he pointed that way to show where he was going.

"Well I'm pretty sure, after so many people on the island-" Jasmine stopped as the boy began walking. Still unsure, she slowly began to follow him.
