I have lived in Washington for 14 years, I am 16 now, unfortunatly me, my sister and my mother all had to move to GA two years ago ( sister having moved back to WA when she turned 18 ) .. This state is extreamly sad and it's school system is .. well.. just .. sad~
Now I'm not Racist or anything but OMG so many African Americans are extreamly ignorant..
A prime example of such is,
One day I was in the school's library doing some research ( ~cough cough GAIA cough cough ~) and this guy asked me if I knew what a spanish word meant, now I know spanish pretty well and knew what this word was but earlier that day he had disrespected one of my good friends so I said yes.. When he asked me if I could tell him the what the word meant I said no .. of course he started to call me a racist cracker.. where I kindly pointed out that I hadn't said the 'n' word in one of my sentences and he had repeatitivly used cracker instead of my name , which he knew. He said how I shouldn't be talking back to him since it was black history month, how I should be respecting him and he pecked at how spainards were the most ignorant people in history, where I asked him ever so kindly that if I respected him this month owuld he respect me when hispanic month came around, that is where he scoffed and wakled out. NOw the thing isthough, if he would have agreed to respecting me , a 'cracker' during said month I would have given him the answer.
Another example is~
During class kids will ask me , Sixel, Kat, Blake, and Brandon to 'shut the f*** up' so they can hear the teacher, well quiet down and start doing something else to keep us distracted. The next minute or so they will start talking .. ( there is this one girl that, when she laughs, sounds like Chuckie {from the movie} ) We decided to give them a taste of their own medicene so we started to work on our work and asked them to be quiet. They couldn't handle such an 'insult' ( had our teacher laughing xD ) so they said such things such as " What di dyou just say ?" " I know your cracker a** did not say that s***" and so on.. really sad.
School System Sucks~
Our school system is so behind WA's that if I were to go back I would be a freshmen all over again .. We are just getting into psyical science this year, ( When I took it in 8th grade in WA ) and geometry ( Again, I took it in 8th ). We have to go by this set caplin ( sp? ) schedule. I know in Spokane we had to go off caplin but not as strict as they do. Now I have to admit that some teachers do go off the schedule and teach in their own way, usually those teachers, though are the honors and IB program teachers. Usually our whole school year consists of - books, essays, character analysis and story synopsis and worksheets. Leaving more then 70% of the students behind.
I'm in this 'special' program, as GA so kindly states where I have to learn on an alternative learning program. Now, I don't mind that I get one on one learning time with the teacher to ask him/her questions I might not be able to ask in 'no ed classes' but I still think that it's obnoxious that they put me in such classes. OUr classes are combined 'regular ed ' ( which is what they call the students who are't in special ed ) then 'special ed' students.
There have been many instances when the regular ed students have asked what a Ven Diagram was, how to write such words as morality, and what it means and us 'special ed' kids in the class can answer their question, which doesn't settle well for them, since they are all 'smarter' then we are.
School Clubs are very sad~
I am in the Beta club and was once in another club ( it's name escapes my mind at the moment , so sorry ). The Beta club religiously ( sp ) has been going to the national tornaments but the new teacher didn't know what and how to make use study for nationals so thusly the old students ( They are the senior members, us the junior NEXT YEAR GOING ON SENIOR MEMBERRRRR!!!) had to tutor the junior members, sadly we didn't win any trophies, like we had ever since the club had been organized in that school.
Most of the clubs have been forced to raise their own money and organize their own trips usually at the students in the club's expensises ( sp ).
School is so poor ~
This year our heating has been turned off for the 'winter' and our air conditioning is on a thin line as to " should we turn it off or not ". Our power has been shut off more then once this school year and our food keeps getting reduced to " how much food can we not give them before they start stricking " Constant security issues, poor staff and awful text books. The schools are just... pathetic ( sp )
Driving~
Oh dear, I wont' get started on this , the only thing I am going to say is that they have a special law between drivers.
I so do quote about 12 of my friends
" You can go 80-90 as long as there are other drivers on the road going faster then you or at the same speed, but if everyone is slowing down then you better slow down also becuase there is a 20% chance they'll get you if you just follow the crowd.."
No wonder there are so many accidents here u.u;;
So that is all I have to say about Sucky GA
Any comments or anything like that would be fun to read~
More to come if I have the time.
