The adolescent 'danced' about a little, her blue eyes glittering. She was ever so happy but then again when was she never happy. She was so calm by nature and always so good hearted, nothing about her would ever believe anyone to be unpleasent, then maybe her naiviety wouldn't always be such a good thing.
She wanted to go swimming, she seemed to have inherited her mothers love for water. She would swim for hours and then attempt to fish, which she nearly always failed at but she had fun trying.
Reaching the water she took a leap, jumping in and sending water droplets all over the place. Beautiful cool water with a young natured adolescent happily swimming about.

Wahabu was out for a walk, as was no uncommon lately. He had a purpose for his walk today, partly trying to keep himself somewhat cheerful and partly hoping to find Kubwa. That white lion seemed near impossible to find all of a sudden, and Habu could not understand why. So, the route he was following was one he thought he might find his friend upon.
With his expectations rather low, he was surprised to see a white figure in the distance- and for a fleeting moment he thought it might be Kubwa, but it only took a second longer to realize that it couldn't be. Mainly, it appeared that it was a lioness. Curious, he jogged closer- and was startled when she suddenly leapt into the water.
"Hello," he called once he was close enough, looking out over the water's edge.

The white female looked up and saw the male. With a large smile on her face she swam to the side of the water and looked at the yellow and blue lion. He was of most interesting colours and had scars on him, must have been scratched by some twigs or something. She couldn't believe that another lion would do such a thing.
"Hello! I am Mchengo, who are you?" She spoke while clamberin$

Wahabu watched her as she swam closer, admiring the markings on her face. It was interesting how her eyes looked like they were connected. He also thought it was funny how she was swimming, it seemed half of the lions he'd met lately were either in water or looking for it.
"I'm Wahabu," he introduced himself, "You like to swim?" If she'd jumped in, as he thought he'd seen, that would only make sense. He was just making conversation.

She nodded and smiled. "I love to swim, my mother did as well from what I have been told by others." She smiled widely and sat down on the firm dry ground.
"Do you like to swim? I find that it is good fun!" She laughed a little, "Its all wet aswell!" She smiled widely, happy as always but then what reason did she have to be unhappy?

Wahabu smiled back at her a bit, for it seemed hard not to when she was being so cheerful. He wondered a bit at her comment about her mother and having been told by others. Her mother hadn't told her? Had her mother run away as well, or something else?
"I've never really gone swimming much," he admitted, "But I don't mind water, I guess I just never had a chance to swim." Habu shrugged, he'd always found other games to play. He didn't mind water too much, though.

"Haven't had much of a chance? Well you have one now!" She stood looking a little playful, she would love to have a swimming race it was always so much fun.
"We can have a swimming race, though I will give you a headstart as you haven't swam much!" She was eager to get back in the water, she loved it so much, it was wet and cool. Great place to do exercise and keep cool at the same time. It was perfect for her.

Wahabu looked around nervously at the idea of a swimming race. He couldn't very well say no, he'd been in a similar situation before- only with Kubwa. They'd raced up some trees, and he'd been given a headstart, and Kubw told him he won. Habu suspected his friend had let him win, though.
"Ok, but you can't let me win," he agreed, nodding firmly.

She let out something similar to a squeak and jumped back into the water. "It isn't about the winning, its about the race!" She chuckled yet again, she was always so happy.
"Have you a family?" She was curious and lacked some patience so decided to start a conversation with him while waiting for him to get into the water and ready to swim to the other side.

Habu, not so eager to get into the water, started simply by sticking a toe in the water to test the temperature and how it felt. It wasn't really necessary, for he'd waded into water before even if he had not gone swimming. It wasn't going to be vastly different than that if he just stuck his foot in. He didn't have time to psyche himself enough to jump in before she asked about his family.
"I have my father," he answered, looking from the water to Mchengo, "And I guess my grandmother and her cubs, but they don't live in the same den as us. What about you?" Unfortunately, the conversation delayed Habu getting right into the water- though he dipped a paw in and swirled it around.

Mchengo splashed him with the water. How slow could he be? She didn't think bad of it though, she just wished to race though she was interested in what he was saying as well.
"Me? Well I live with my father and eight of my siblings because my older sister helped dad look after us. Mchele is about too then I have Kiburi who I met briefly when mother died... then I think there are three others I haven't met. Oh and I have cousins and neices and nephews! Some are even older then I am!" She laughed a little and splashed up at him again. She had come to terms with watching her mother die a horrific death along time ago and though some of her siblings weren't over it, she was perfectly happy and had lived life believing everyone was good. She was a strange girl.
"Come on, the water isn't that bad!"

Habu jumped when he was splashed with water, not so much because it was bad but because it surprised him. He stopped and stared as she listed off a rather large list of family members, and mentioned her mother dying. That was a lot of people, and sad about her mother. He supposed he was lucky that he'd never have to go through that himself, though her leaving was as good as her dying, he figured.
"Wow, I have some aunts that are older than me and an aunt and some uncles that are younger than me," he commented, nodding when she said some of her neices and nephews were older than her. When she called for him to come into the water, he stuck his tongue out at her before backing up.
If he was going to do this, he was going to do it now. With that, he took a deep breath, a running start and jumped in.

"Big families are odd." She decided. "They can get so confusing!"
She didn't say anymore as she watched the male take a run up and jump into the water. She laughed happily and swam over to where he was. "That wasn't so hard now was it?" She laughed a little more and swam in circles around him, laughing constantly though occassionally she would stop to lap up some water instead.

Once he hit the water, he immediately starting kicking his legs to keep his head above the water. With little practice, he couldn't help but have a short-lived panic reaction. Fortunately, when Mchengo reached him he was calmly treading the water, though he seemed a bit short of breath from the excitement.
"N-no!" he gasped, and then swam in a small circle as he got used to the feeling of water through all of his fur and got ready for the race that his new friend had proposed. "Ok, I'm ready."

She smiled and swam to his side.
"We swim to the other side and back, first to get back here wins. You sure you don't want to get your breath back first though?" She was playful and eager to race but she wasn't going to put someone through pain to do so. That would have bad intentions and as it was clear to most she believed no one to be truely bad. Odd girl.
She looked over at him and decided it must be harder to swim for males because of all that mane. It could so easily get in the way. She was glad she was female.
