(I'm new here btw)
Most bands have at least 1 pair of kids who are in a relationship, in our band we call it a "Band-lationship". Now, we had one band-lationship in our highschool band last year, now, at retreat girls can't go into guys cabins and guys can't go into girls cabins (god only knows what happend to cause that). While I wasn't in highschool when this happend I was in jazz band with these 2 kids and they really did go at it (silly altos). Since then these 2 have gone diffrent ways (the chick quit band) and up till now there hasnt been a "Band-lationship". Now I am going out with the bass trombone and we are the "Band-lationship". He sits right next to me in band, both Jazz and stage (I play bass clarinet in stage and trombone in jazz) so we are the butts of many jokes.
Now, onto my actual topic, do you have a "band-lationship" in your band? If so has anything funny or annoying happend from it at retreat, camp, tour, or concerts?
Damn that was long....

We have quite a few people that are in the band and going out, but no one really said anything about them being in the band...though the whole cross-country team was dating each other at one point (except the kid with the unibrow...nobody wanted to date him).

there was a kid in our band that used to keep track of our 'band family tree'. he graduated *tear*, but he had about 4-5 years worth of relationships within the band plotted out on a huge piece of paper. you know we got problems when you start mapping squares and octagons.

Hm... band-lationships... I THINK one of the trombone players is dating one of the clarinet players, but I don't know. They went out most of my freshman year, but broke up at the end of the year. I think they're back together now though... not sure. The clarinet player is sort of a drama queen and kinda flirty, too, so it could just be that.
Some past band-lationships... hm... well, my freshman year the lead trumpet player was dating the bassoon/alto sax player. Apparently they were suspended for a day because, on one of the trips, the girl was in the guy's room, and that's a big no-no (district policy and whatnot). Lesse... one of the flute players dated one of the trumpet players my freshman year, but they broke up, and later (sophomore year) the trumpet player dated my friend, who's a clarinet player. Two of the percussionists (one of whom is my best friend) dated my freshman year, too. I don't really know about any others than that.
I've never had a band-lationship... but I do have a major crush on one of the tenor sax players, who's a pretty good friend of mine. xp I've liked him since freshman year, and I'm a junior now. ^^;;

I was in a band-lation myself last year with a clarinet player.

I was in a band-lation myself last year with a clarinet player. there aren't children and cousins and such (though we are in alabama) so it's not really incest, just weird. like, he dated her who dated him who dated her who dated the first guy who also dated another girl who dated the last guy etc tis a very complex web we weave

Well, I am in a band-lationship with a tuba player. Very interesting, that has been. And, almost ALL my past relationships have been bandlationships. I dated the 1st Chair Trombone, a clarinet, a flute, and some others. So, I have trouble getting out of the band circle of females.

Our band girls are bitchy, but the ones from other towns love me. I guess it is something about our girls. They are rude to everyone, it seems.

I did it again...I clicked "Edit" on Ami's post instead of "Quote." xp Einstein Ami Elly Bee Considering I go to an all girl's school... XD That would be disturbing. Err... not to insult anyone's sexual prefrence. Actually, I go to an all-girls college. It's just like any other school, except it's smaller, and there's no guys in class. (The lack of such distractions is either good or bad, depending on the situation.) Fortunately, the orchestra I play with is based in a co-ed public college, so there's hope for me yet. I used to want to be in a band-lationship with a piano player, and then a horn player, but then things turned out so I'd rather punch him than make out with him, and then I started college. (He may be going to Oberlin next year. I really don't know because it's not like the two of us have communicated since the last concert in July.)
