Finally, a topic for the great Kira debate. If Kira were real, would you support him for what he's doing or not?
Personally, I'm kind of undecided, but leaning towards 'yes'. Kira's methods, harsh as they might have been, really had an effective change on the world. I'd only support the Raito-Kira, though. He's the only one with (mostly) selfless ideals.

Well, I may have voted "hell Yeah" in the votes, but the only reason I would say yes is that Kiras Ideals are perfect, that justice is obtained by killing the wicked. The unfortunate thing is that the kiras we've seen are all human. Human beings in general are baised, no matter what way you look at it. In order for kira to have been an Ideal god, it would have to be an all knowing all seeing god, with no judgements on how the world works, just what is right and wrong, no past expeiances or human needs, just the true Idea of unbaised judgement on all. Also, Kira is the form of justice built on fear, and as it was said in Death Note {Possible spoilers}"Peace created on fear is not true peace."
Bonus points on who said that and what volume it was said.

I don't think I'd support him......at least not really. While his ideals are great, his means are just wrong. I'm more likely to support a guy like L, or a kid like Near.

Yes I would support Kira (Kira #1 that is... Light-Kira)... if he kept at killing ONLY the guilty and bad people. Then the only people who would be fearful are those doing wrong things anyway. To the innocent, he'd be a hero.

Just that... he started killing innocent people. Killing bad people is one thing, since they deserve it, but killing the innocent (no matter how annoying they get), is wrong. Even if they were trying to stop him, if his heart was truly bent on eradicating only the wicked, then he wouldnt have hurt some of the people he killed *sniff*, since they too are part of the innocent. Him killing some innocent people made it so that he can kill anyone who displeases him, and that's just bull.
So yes, I support his ideals, but Light-Kira didnt truly stick by them. >.<

As much as I dislike Kira in the actual series, if Kira was real, I know I'd support him.
As long as the people are guilty for crimes.

.L really didn't deserve to die. He was just doing his job. I didn't like how L would change his morals to try and solve a case though.
You remember when he wanted to test out the notebook himself? yeah. I really didn't like that when he thought he was the most innocent and justice fill..
You don't kill people who are innocent and such. I mean the world can't be controlled, it can only adjust.
And very SLOWly at that (Well the permanent adjustments.)
I fully support Kira in the first few books, but not when he sets aim on the people of the justice system.

No. I don't believe there are good or bad peope in this world. People are people, they either make good desisions or bad desisions. So I don't believe in Kira's theory.

The world would be better if there was a Kira killing off criminals...but then most of the people where I live would be gone, and I wouldn't mind it since I don't like them. Seriously, I turn on the news and there are atleast 5-10 murder stories a week. gonk

I support Raito's ideals. But the thing is that altho it's really quite amazing in theory it doesn't work too well in reality. & Raito kinda... deviated? from his orig. idealism later on...?

If it were the Kira in the first few volumes, I would support him.. somewhat. Even if convicted criminals were being "judged", I'd still be living in fear. Though, I would be glad that those who committed horrific crimes were getting what they deserved.
However, if it were the Kira that set his sights on those who are to protect the lives of others (i.e. Police), then I wouldn't support him at all.
The odd thing in this situation is that Kira's ideals shifted from bettering the world (as a whole) to ridding the world of those that opposed him. Also, his viewpoint as to what was right and wrong was as thin as a sheet of paper, IMO. 3nodding
