They are near the mountain gap next to the river in the forest.

User Image The gentle sounds of spring were in the air. Birds were chirping, bees could be seen floating from flower to flower. The sunlight was set sparkling by the pollen that was drifting in the air, causing a sudden sneeze from the copper red mare that was seen pacing by the water's edge.

Her bright blue eyes scanned the area as she flicked her tail casually, the red and tan feathers shifting with the movement.
"It will be nice to see them again," she said outloud before dropping her head to nibble at the spring grass. It was sweet with youth and made her mouth water at the taste. They'd be here soon. The sun was just about at the right position.

Tawali was drifting in and out of conscious thought, standing quietly for once beneath a large willow that hung its branches out over the river's meanders, his ears laid back as he listened absently to the rumble of the river and the soft calls of the birds above him, the hum of bees, the scamper of small feet on the branch above him in the willow. He looked serene, eyes lazily closed, ears back, tail swishing slowly now and then to rid him of the first bugs of the season. He opened one eye, watching Ever a little way ahead of him, wondering who she was talking of.

"Eh?" He muttered, yawning hugely before stretching and shaking out his mane. He stepped out from the drooping limbs and peered around. "'Oo ye wanna see again, galunadi'dikata?" He stepped up beside her and joined her meal for a moment before his ear flicked back and he looked up at the bright sky.

Ever brought her head up and smiled brightly, tugging at a bit of his mane playfully before she answered him. "A dear friend of mine, he's almost like family. He and his son are to be meeting us." She still wasn't sure how to tell Tawali all that had taken place or how to explain her care over the foal. But it wouldn't hurt to start at the beginning.

"Jazz had an "accident" with one of his friends and they had foals. He explained to me how his son, Rhapsody, never really knew his mother." Her voice sounded filled with a distant heartbreak, but was quickly covered with defense. "I couldn't just let the little guy grow up with just his grandmother as a mother figure. It wasn't fair to either of them... So I offered to be his aunt."

She blushed and looked down at the ground. "I've been helping teach Rhaps to grown up into a decent Soquili this season turn." She scuffed a hoof over the ground idly and casting a side glance to see her mate's reaction.

User ImageJazz trotted up along the river with a spring in his step. It was a beautiful day out and he was on his way to meet with his good friend Ever and her mate. The big red stallion certainly couldn't wait to see her again and did he have news for her. It had been a while since they last met and since then his son, Rhapsody, had grown into a rather handsome young stallion.

User ImageRhapsody trotted sullenly beside his father and just couldn't understand why the older stallion was so cheery. It was beginning to get really hot outside again and humid and he didn't like have to walk farther than he had to. "Why are we going all the way out here again?" he asked in a whiny tone.

Jazz sighed a bit as this was almost the millionth time his son had asked this question. "I already told you and your just asking to be annoying. We are going to see your aunt and show her what a handsome stallion you've become. Now you better get into a better mood or you'll have her to deal with." he said still in a good mood, not letting his son's whining get in the way of that.

Tawali digested this information and nodded amicably, turning from her for a moment to clamp his teeth around a magnolia bloom near by and he tucked it behind her ear, the innocent white of the flower complimenting her mane and blue eyes perfectly. He smiled lovingly at her and planted a soft horse-kiss to her muzzle before wandering a little way away, head down to graze.

"Ahhh, so t'is a fam'ly thingur then?" He chuckled at her shyness about the whole topic and gave her a chiding look that said 'I don't mind'. Grazing for a moment longer, her smiled at her, taking in her story. "Well, some fam'ly's be'er'n no fam'ly. Ah can' remem'er me fam'ly comin' to think of it." Snorting, he chuckled a bit and returned to her side, nuzzling her affectionately before moving to stand in the sun, wings spread, a coy look to his face as he watched Ever, awaiting her 'family'.

Jazz continued on with Rhapsody still grumping along behind him. The were almost there, it was just through the trees and he could sort of make out the shape of two other Soquili. He was not sure if it was them or not but he hoped that it was. "Alright, I think I see them so straighten up and put a smile on that face." he told his son looking back at him.

Rhapsody gave his father a rather mean look before mockingly putting on the fakest smile he could. "How is this?" he said through gritted teeth.

Jazz rolled his eyes and just ignored the young stallion. He was not going to deal with this now nor did he want to deal with it ever.

She blushed when he planted a kiss on her and swore she felt her hooves curl. She tried to catch a glimpse of the blossom near her ear in thought. Did he truly know the extend of the emotions he made her feel? "Neither can I. Jazz and Rhaps is the only family I know." She paused, still unsteady over the whole thing. "Uh.. That is... until we have our own." She leaned into his nuzzle, being completely selfish over the attention.

Her ears flicked at the sound of twigs and leaves crunching underfoot. Her smile grew wide and she slowly made her way to stand, facing where they might be coming from. She could hear Jazz talking to someone who seemed very grumpy. The voice was deeper than the colt's had been. So he had finally grown up.

She couldn't see them just yet, but she made sure to call out.
"Faking a smile doesn't work with me, Rhapsody," she said in a chiding tone that her smile shattered. She wanted to run out and greet them, but introductions were the proper thing to do.

Rhapsody just rolled his eyes at his aunts chiding knowing she couldn't see him do it. "Yeah yeah, I hear ya, Aunt Eve." he called back to her before picing up his pace. He really had missed his Aunt and couldn't wait to show her how big he had grown since they last met.

Jazz laughed as he heard his dear friend call to his son. "Yes, listen to your aunt." he said still laughing and followed right after his son.

Ever met her nephew with a gentle nuzzle and a warm smile before tugging at his mane. She stepped back to take a good look at him. "My how you've grown. And quite the handsome stud I might add," she said with a playful wink.

But here she was getting ahead of herself. Introductions, where were her manners?
"Jazz, Rhapsody... This is Tawali," she said softly, moving to stand next to her mate, her life. "Tawali, this is my family, Rhapsody and Jazz." She didn't know exactly how this would go over, but it was time to tie the families together and not be faceless strangers.

Jazz nodded to the other stallion, noticing he was a wind Soquili at that. He had never met one before but only heard stories of them. It was kinda nice to finally meet one. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you Tawali. Ever here has told me so many things about you. It is nice to see she has finally found herself a family." he said with a broad smile. He was happy to see his dear friend so happy.

Rhapsody also nodded to the stallion in acknowledement. Though he did not speak. He had never ben around another stallion before other than his own father and so was a bit intimidated by the others presence.
