DDB The shop was quiet except for a small scatching sound, pencil on paper. It was Sidney, sitting on the couch, his tail curled around to balance him and a collection of rocks and stones in the middle. The scratching was from his pencil, as he marked in his notebooks little sketches of the objects and an indication on the rough map of where he'd found them.
He'd been exploring the woods out behind the fields at Dee's home and trying his hand at a bit of archeology. He'd found a few intersting rocks that didn't look exacty natural, although he had no idea what they were for. A piece of old bone (most likely from a rabbit or other animal). But his prized find had been an old flinthead, worn dull from the river where he'd found it.
He'd been hoping to find someone here to show them to. Hopefully Nar, or maybe even Toby! He'd rather wished to see his doggy friend again. But the place was quiet and empty and so he decided to update his notes on his 'discoveries'.

Donna the Vixen "It's a medicine ball" She'd told him. "It's heavy and good for building lean mass." Not that he needed to. The greyish sphere rolled onwards though, pushed by an invisible (at least behind the ball) bird who pushed it dilligently towards his destination and favorite hangout location.
There was a bit of work involved in getting the ball through the door, or opening it for that matter, but Carl was a persistant little eglet and strived and pushed and shoved on the object until it pushed its way into the shop, followed shortly by its owner. Beyond it, he couldn't see Sidney - perhaps for the best - so he obliviously assumed the shop to be empty or just very well hidden, and made no move to announce his comming. Rather, he'd come for some other purpose than to show off, so thus the expected emptiness was embraced as he moved along the bottom of the orb and shoved it towards the couch. The idea was to get it propped up there so he could climb up ontop of it and roll it around with his feet, but he HADN'T expected there to be a snake laying just where he'd pushed the heavy 'toy'.

DDB If Sidney hadn't been so involved in his work, the sight of a self-propelled ball would have caught his interest quite a bit. But as it was he was busy studying the bone closely and wondering where it might have come from. He was no biology or anatomy student though, so it was rather impossible. Still, it might be evidence of a burial ground in the area? He marked that in on the map.
The rolling ball moved quietly and he only half paid attention to the faint sounds the bird made. If it hadn't been for the shadow looming over his paper he wouldn't have looked up in time. Eye's widening, his reflexes flashed and he rolled out of the way. The 'boulder' only narrowly missed his tail, and he snatched it up close to him. Unfortunatly his 'discoveries' weren't so lucky and most were now under the large ball.
"What the hell?!" He yelled. Something he'd picked up from Dee's flatmate (much to Dee's distaste). Instantly he tried pushing the ball back, off his precious archeological finds.

Donna the Vixen Oh crap...He was in SO much trouble now. Don't look at him. Don't look at him. Don't...The words ran through his mind over and over as he remembered the last time they'd met.
Ah yes, Sidney. He remembered that voice, that style, that bad attitude. He also remembered that the snake did NOT like him any more than he liked the snake.
The ball rolled off of the findings, but its progress was almost lethargic. It really WAS heavy, so it didn't surprise the bird that Sid only managed to push it by a few inches.
Carl moved quickly once it was a safe distance away from the snake. He grabbed the side of the ball with his talons and forcefully directed it elsewhere. However, as it moved asside , the mess it had caused as noticed. Great...now he had to feign sincere sorriness. His tones were less than enthusiastic as he adressed his peer. "You ok over there, Sid?"

DDB (( Do we have that saved somewhere? Or is it lost in the depths of the thread? sweatdrop ))This thing was heavy! As he pushed it, not getting very far very fast, he grimiced at the thought of what it could have done had he not moved so quickly. However his expression was quickly made worse by the discovery of what it HAD done to his things. The rocks were ok but his pencil and bone had been snapped and a good portion of the spearhead's thin tip had been chipped off.
"On no!" He cried, looking at the distruction. Only when he heard the voice of Carl did his gaze snap up again to see the bird standing next the great ball of doom. He should have known... every time he sitting quietly this other velvet pounced!
"Yesss, your attempt failed in that regard... again." He replied icily, dusting himself off and then picking up the two sorry pieces of his flinthead. It had taken ages to find it.

Donna the Vixen The nerve! Carl huffed and averted his gaze. "I no more failed in my goal than you failed to be worth noticing." Not that he HAD noticed and chosen to ignore, but rather the snake had been so much more quiet than the sound of the ball on the floor that Carl hadn't any idea he were there.
Still - he wasn't letting Sid find out about his lack of observation. "Maybe you should try taking better care of you appearance so I won't be forced to overlook your drabness."
Couch or not...Carl grabbed his ball and pushed it to a shelf, keeping it there before scaling up and stepping hessitantly on - hoping to find his balance. NOW he was purposefully ignoring the snake, and made a great show of pushing the ball forwards with his feet, slowly getting it to manuver just infront of the scene of the accident.

DDB (( Horray! Actually I just looked in there and spotted it. Oh it makes me twitter with amusement. ))Ooo... that was a hit below the belt. Even if Sidney didn't spend hours preening (like he was sure this bird did), he was rather fond of his scaley patterns. Weren't carpet pythons known for it? He subconciously gave his lovely long tail a look. What was wrong with his appearance? And he was certainly worth noticing! So long as he wasn't meant to be hiding.
"Hmph! Can't help it if you're blind. Guessss you don't have that 'eagle eye' your sspeciesss were famed for." He muttered, protectively curling around the fragments of his studies. He began to put them away in his bag, thinking how he could at least show Dee and his friends the pieces and still describe what they were. It wasn't nearly as cool as having a whole piece though.
He risked a glance in Carl's direction, spotting him rolling the ball by walking on top of it. He decided to ignore him after that too, until he rolled close again. Sidney looked up, making a point of not flinching a muscle or moving an inch. "What? You planning on joining the circisss? You'd make a good clown."

Donna the Vixen Ouch. That was cold. Stone cold. Carl had to focus hard to keep his calm appearanc,e but he was seething on the inside. So he wanted to play like THAT eh? The boy grinned and ran a few talons through his luxurious feathers, forcing a chuckle to come as he adressed Sidney.
"I'd rather be blind than be forced to look at your SSSSSilly mug, are you jealoussss because you have no feet to ssssspeak of?"
Imitating the accent. Not his first choice, but it was the first thing he thought of. He'd once suffered one as well, but Sidney probably didn't know about his prior grievances with the letter 's', and he certainly wasn't saying anything.
He rolled the ball over and twitched his tail feathers, brushing them over Sidneys stuff, or whatever was in reach. Rocks...how...uniteresting. "They suit you.....you're about as thick and boring as any rock."
(( I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Sid slugged him. xd ))

DDB (( Oh ho! If they get in a full-scale fight we might need Willow to jump in and break it up! ))I knew he was a preening addict! It'd be just his type. Sidney sniggered inwardly to himself as the bird made a show of combing his feathers with his claws. But it didn't last long when Carl replied in an imitation of his lisp. So one made fun of that! Or his wonderful tail!
"Jealouss? Why? Because I can't wasste my time rolling around on balls? I've got better thingss to do." He replied as cooly as he could, but his eyes narrowed warningly.
When the bird even had the nerve to come and dust him off with his feathers, Sidney moved to shove him away. He didn't need him breaking anything else. But what he said made him fumble and miss while he recoiled. "What.. did you sssay?" He whispered in a low hiss, his tail coiling behind him and his tongue flickering in and out in anger. That had crossed the line!(( brb after I shower! ))

Donna the Vixen Carl backed the ball away a bit but tossed his head in a triumphant manner. "You're as thick as a rock, and I can cut through those like a hot knife through butter."
As though to emphasize his point, he showed his talons that he'd practised long and hard to hone even further than the last time they'd met. He could cut into metal now, and with practise...he was sure he could cut other, more irksome things. "Didn't a bird try that on you once before? Amazing he even got your heavy set self off the ground."
Now, Carl knew better than to actually attack him, but that didn't mean he couldn't mess with the snakes head a bit - even if his mom would be pissed if ever she discovered this. She wouldn't though, not if he could help it, so that thought was pushed asside as he focussed his attenions on a precise point away from the Sidney and his hypnotic movements.
(( We just might! xd Donna would be SO mad at Carl if she heard this, cause Sidney = <3 ))

DDB (( Sid: "Cool! My hypnotism extends to telekinesis!" Only it wouldn't work like how he'd want it to and would attack him with flying plushes too! xd
Btw, if either LP or Iris wants to jump in, I'm more than happy. I don't think this is going to end pleasantly. twisted ))"You ignorant, arrogant, bird-brain!" Sidney yelled back. Not the best comeback ever, but then no one had made him loose his cool like this before. He was more flustered and furious than he'd felt before in his life, and all because of this stupid bird who was so full of himself and always trying to squash him flat!
He might be cold-blooded but he felt like it was boiling now. "Yeah, and I sshowed him! Jusst like I'll show you!"
With a lightning fast movement, Sidney grabbed the whip that always hung from the belt at his side. A flick of the wrist uncurled it, ready for action, and a shoosh sent the end shooting at Carl's feet where Sidney flicked it back sharply with a loud crack. If he had wanted to hit Carl he could have, his body not being able to reach him this far away but his long whip being able to. However with this first strike he aimed it more at the ball's surface, hoping to scare and unbalance the bird, making him fall off.

Donna the Vixen HOLY! Carl jumped back momentarily, still on the ball but now further on the edge of it. That did it, oh that did it! Carl glared, his feathers puffing up to full size - the rarely seen crown of rage comming forth in all its eagley glory. "You stupid snake! Let me show you how REAL birds get rid of slimey pests like you!"
He backed on the ball again, this time allowing himself to fall behind it. Fluid, his talons nearly dug into the wood of the floor as he seized the bottom of the medicine ball. Toned sinew stood out, the bird doing what he did best in bodily lifting it up from the floor and over his head, pausing but for a moment before hurling it at Sidney.
Normally he would have been surprised to see just how strong he was to have actually lifted the thing, but at the moment - he honestly didn't give a flying rats behind about it.
(( 1-5 miss and 6-10 hit, D? I dunno how this would work. xd Carl got another point in strength, so now he's at 5/10. ))

LP [[Ahah Okay xD]] Willow was standing outside the shop's door listening to the comotion, having a ghost friend with her. The only one that wasn't bothering her that day. She pointed to the bell, making a montion to tell the ghost to keep it from ringing.
One the bell was made not to ring when she entered the door opened slowly and Willow walked in. Her hands moved to her hips, looking at them. She eyed the flying ball -edit- as it hit Sid, "And what are we doing?" She asked eyes narrowed.

DDB Sidney's face dropped as he saw Carl lift the ball he'd only managed to roll slightly before. Right above his head too! He'd severely underestimated the bird's strength, it had increased immensely since he'd last seen him.
And then, Carl actually threw it at him. For a second Sidney could only stop and stare at the hurtling medicine that would easily break his bones if it landed on him. ....landed.. on him.... That thought snapped him out of it and at the last second he dived out the way. It only just missed him and felt the whoosh of air as it sailed past and then the vibration of the floor as it hit. This was going to be like David and Goliath!
Whipping back round to his target he was pleased to see he had nothing else to throw, but that certainly didn't mean he was defenseless. Sid just had to be careful and keep his distance.
So focused was he, that he didn't see the tiger walk in, nor did he hear her since she had silenced the bell on the door. It was only when he'd lashed out his whip again, aiming for Carl's arm this time, that he'd heard her speak. Too late...(( Same roll for you Donna? 1-5 miss and 6-10 hit ))

Donna the Vixen Carl noticed her sooner, but the distraction of twisting to look at the tiger caused him to lose sight of his objective. He didn't see the whip in the time he'd need to fully avoid it, but the stinging sensation of its leathery tip cutting just the surface of his forearm brought him back to the fight at hand. Willow would have to wait.
Now, he had nothing else to throw and he did require some form of contact to actually exert his power, but foolishly so - Sidney had provided that to him. Carl went not after the ball or snake, but instead reached around and grabbed hold of the whip as it made to return to its master.
The projectile was wrapped once, than twice around his hand, before he tugged HARD on it - hoping to pull it to him so that Sidney would be unarmed as well.
(( Your roll to see if he gets the whip. 1-5 Sidney keeps it, 6-10 Carl pulls it out of his grasp. ))
