S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl
History of the Game:

First Date: September 2003.
The first video was out in 2002. The graphics were blowing for that time.
The concept was a little diffrent. Stalker was planned to be a game like Fallout. Maps and single parts of the game were done, the homebrewn Physics engine was stunning.

Second Date: September 2004
In Mai 2003 GSC finally found a Publisher: THQ. Other publishers like Infogrames(Atari) don't want the game. It is said to be unplayable.
A great confusion goes around in the Community: At the 23rd May 2003 THQ announces the Game for September 2004, GSC says this is a mistake. A few days later, GSC says the Game should be aout in the middle of 2004.
2 contests were organized: 1 for fanfiction, 1 for monsterdesign.

Winner for monsterdesign:

The blowout:
On December 21st 2003 an Alpha of the game finds the way into the internet. It is from 12th May 2002, old. No official statement from GSC and THQ?
Who said Half Life 2, eh?
GSC releases "Firestarter", a shitty game.

Third Date:March 2005:
On May 8th 2004, GSC claims to be in the Beta stage and THQ sets the Releasedate to March 2005 to "Not collide with Doom 3 and Half Life 2".

When it's done
A few months later THQ says:
The Koop is gone, the Multiplayer-Beta is canceled.
We will be ready when it is ready.

Kicking some asses
In July 2005 a second Alpha is leaked.
GSC fires a lot of their programers and even more graphic artists.
GSC claims the game is Gold, THQ sends his own Top-Manager to Kiew:
Dean "The Knife" Sharpe.
He kicks GSC in the nuts and the vehicles and the foodsystem get cut out of the game.

RELEASE
Everyone was thinking it will come out March 23rd, but hell no! After the realease of the last Trailer, the game is out at March 20st 2007.

Games from GSC:Cossacks: European Wars, Codename Outbreak, Cossacks: The Art of War,American Conquest, Cossacks: Back to War, American Conquest : Fight Back, Firestarter, Cossacks 2, Stalker

So I know its mostly some compiled information from alot of sites. But This game is another grounding breaking game for the ever-evolving first person shooter. So its not Crysis graphics, but as any good (non-stuck up 13 year old brat gamer) would know graphics aren't everything. Its an open-ended FPS, like GTA and a few others. Think Oblivion only as FPS, because thats pretty much what it is like. The graphics on are par with Half Life 2. The game effects are awesome if you have the video card to handle it. I've been playing this game since i got it Thursday and have yet to put it down. It may say its only a 10 hour story line but i've played more than 10 hours and i'm only scratching the surface of the game.

So game play, you have an inventory that is restricted by wight 50.0 Kg (kilograms) once you hit 60.0 you can't move. So you can only carry so much.

(( I'll add more tomorrow I'm wiped))

A friend of mine has it and told me it's tough, but brilliant. I so want to play that game but unfortunately, my computer will never be able to run it. I'm desperately hoping it'll come out for Xbox 360 though.

Oh, It runs awesome on my computer <3 its not hard just more realistic, and its not scary at some parts. The areas are created to freak you out and then the music, back ground noises, and then something invisible chunks s**t at you and your unloading a clip from you AK-7M, your reloading, then Boom some zombified stalker pops out and your gun jams, thats when its gets scary.

Some screen shots of mine.

Some other screen shots i've taken

This is near the end of the game mostly after the brain scorcher and towards Priypot (I think I spelled it right, probably not)

My friend just bought that game and he said it's pretty good. Unfortunately my computer isn't the best for running games at the moment and so i will probably wait until I get a laptop this fall when I attend college.

I'm way more interested in exploring the zone than in the ending, Pity my computer is eight years old. stare
If they don't port it to Xbox 360, heads are going to roll. xd

Ok after playing it again I beat it on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. difficulty. Got the money ending lol. But I doubt there going to port it. You have to remember this company is a Ukrainian Game developer. I doubt that its going to port to the 360, just like if they do port Crysis to the 360, the 360 will get the watered down version due to the 360 having an already out dated graphics. Hence if you didn't know 360 uses Direct X 9, I use DX10 <3 8800 GTX 760mbs =o but who knows they might port it, more screen shots later, possibly some spoiler ones

Lots of technical details, I don't care about Crysis, I want S.T.A.L.K.E.R. which runs on an already outdated engine, maybe they'll have to scale down the draw distance a bit but that's fine with me.
Besides, the game may be made by a Ukranian developer, it was released by THQ and they may decide to want to reach a bigger market by having the game ported to consoles, whether the port would be done by GSC or not. Wouldn't be the first time a port was done by a third party dev.
