You know the rules, guys ;D  Kindle tromped around the grass, trying to come up with something to do. It was early evening, and the sun had a good hour or so left before it went to bed, and Kindle was still full of energy and ready to rough house.
All the other foals she had met, however, were all home with their families eating their dinner and preparing for bed. She should be home as well, but she wasn't ready to go, and she wanted to have some fun before her parents forced her to close her eyes and try to get some sleep. She was growing up fast, and she wanted to act more like an adult as each day went on. She knew she was still a foal in the eyes of her parents and her parents' friends, but she liked to pretend like she was an adult at least. One day, she'd be like her strong Nightmare Momma, but for now, she was still just Kindle.
She paused, wondering how a foal 'grew up'. Maybe if she thought hard enough, she could do it right here and now?
Closing her eyes, she willed her legs to grow, her tail to grow, everything about her to grow big and pretty like her Momma looked. Maybe she could be an adult after all!

Grinning to himself for a job well done of once again sneaking away from his parents, Shizuka trotted around on his small legs trying to figure out how he could tease his siblings and play tricks on any other Soquili when he spotted something unusual. He had a few hours left before the sun set and his father came looking for him, but this thing he saw was a curious thing indeed.
He saw random, faint flashes of light across where he was, and, like the curious little colt he was, he ventured towards the lights. As he came closer, he saw a slight shadow of a figure... and as he closed in, he saw a filly. She was dark, like him, but with these strange markings, and there were... flames... on her hooves. What the... didn't that hurt? He watched her for a moment, not willing to say anything until he felt it was right to speak.

Her eyes still closed, she let off a groan, thinking and wishing as hard as she could that she might grow a few more inches here, a few more inches there... why, if her wish came true, she could go home looking just like Momma! Wouldn't that be a surprise to her parents!
"C'mon..." she muttered to herself, tensing every muscle she could control, "C'mon... grow already!!"

He blinked as he watched the filly in front of him. She was younger than him, but not by much, and he watched curiously as she muttered something to herself, making a face of determination.
Did she want to be the best or something? But that was his goal! It was his goal to be the best at everything. Finally, he smirked to himself. Maybe a little bit of a... sneak attack... would get her attention?
"Hey!" he called loudly, springing up out of the surrounding grass right in front of the filly, a wide smirk decorating his face. He flicked his tail as he watched her to see what her reaction would be.

Kindle nearly shrieked herself, when the loud voice came out of nowhere, scaring her. Her eyes shot open, and the filly spotted a dark colored colt grinning at her, directly in front of where she stood.
"What was that for!?" she nearly screamed at him, her back legs still shaking from the scare. "Don't you know you're not s'posed to scare adults?!"

He cocked his head at her, somewhat amused to find that she thought herself to be an adult. "You're an adult? But you're as small as me; smaller, even. But you're pretty enough, so I guess you are an adult," he said, observing her.
"Doesn't that hurt?" he asked, referring to her burning hooves, which, somehow, did not inflame the grass around them. He felt extremely intrigued with this filly; he also found he didn't want to manipulate her or play around with her like the foolish Tierce, or tease her, like he did with his sister Ketsu. He ignored how, in the end, the filly might be a bit irritated with him.
"I'm Shizuka Tsuyoi, by the way," finally remembering his courtesy lesson. "And whom, may I ask, are you?"

"Of 'course I'm an adult." she said, preening as she lifted her head high in the air. "Didn't ya see me growing myself up?"
She looked over at the brownish black colt, and frowned. True, she hadn't grown any taller than this other foal... perhaps she hadn't really grown herself up at all, like she thought she had?
She noticed him nodding down towards her hooves, and she grinned.
"Sure doesn't." She answered, waving one hoof in the air in his direction. "The fire's a part of me, 'cause I'm part Nightmare like my Momma is. You should see my sister... her HAIR is lit up with fire!"
Giggling, she pranced around in a circle around the foal, giddy and full of energy. "I'm Kindle. Nice ta meet ya, Shiz-Shiz-Shiz-ooo-ka!"
She tried her best to pronounce the name, but it was hard to say. She hoped he hadn't been offended, and glanced over to see his expression, just in case.
