=Blessed Is He Who Walks In Darkness: Heavenly Is She Who Speaks With Light=

Quote:
[Clockwork owners are welcomed to join in. Sweet Thing owners please PM before entering...]

The bells... always calming to the soul. A source of which he listens for on the daily. Today was no different as Ennui the strange man who had found the place of which he felt most welcomed in a commissary of all places. A church filled with God fearing men and women, even children made their way to the doorsteps of the cathedral where they raised their hands in prayer.

Such was the way of "man", Ennui was no ordinary man, in fact he was not human by any standard of the word. Perhaps the life breathed into him made him as close to human as he could be, perhaps being created by one so mortal could give him reason to be called human but none of this actually made him human. And thusly, he sits in darkness wondering and waiting for his creator to resurface some day, any day with answers to the questions that boiled within his soul.

As the last chime of the bell sounded, Ennui rose from his knees allowing the last peaceful wave of meditation wash over him. Despite the setting he had no desire to worship a diety of which he had no direct contact nor did it seem feisable to him to follow in the foot steps of so many. Rather than do that he meditated, devoted much of his time relaxing in a plane far from the waking world around him. While the choir boys and preist assumed him faithful to their god, he was only faithful to his daily routine and nothing more.

Slipping from his small boxed room he made his way into the halls, a platoon of young children screaming down the halls in their choir robes. A few of them stopped in mid-run to greet the tall man. "Good morning Brother Ennui."

"Good morning child..." Ennui replied in quick manner. It was mechanical by now but always a welcomed event to be greeted. The serenity he found in the cathedral was always surprisingly refreshing. "...do refrain from running in the halls. I'm sure the janitor would not be happy in cleaning up the scuff marks after you hethens."

The children smiled some laughing as they waved their goodbyes and hurried down the hall; none of them heeding such warnings. "I dispised insolent children..." he muttered turning away from the gleeful cherubs to head to his next destination. Today was open mass and according to the Father, many new faces were promised. Ennui supposed it was a good thing. Why anyone would devote their time or waking moments to an unforseen diety was beyond him?

"Brother Ennui." the voice of the Father was easily recognizable as he turned to face him. "Ah, it is a blessed morning is it not?" the Father asked placing a warm hand on the other's arm.

Ennui instinctively shyed away removing his arm and stepping back. "Perhaps." He stated, not sure what was so blessed about the morning.

"Ah.. forgive me, I forgot how touche you can be Brother."

"You are forgiven just do not let it happen again..."

"Very well." pausing slightly the Father began to walk away but stopped short. "You know Brother, there is nothing wrong in allowing others to get closer to you. We are all friendly people here and only wish to help you."

"Perhaps. I prefer not to grow attatched, there are possibilities that my time in this world is short." Ennui stood there a moment but then took the initiative and glided past the other. "I bid you a good morning Father." With that said he made his leave heading down the cooridor where the front doors led him out into the fresh air. The sun was bright as was the wind brisk... a rather galeful wind for such a bright morning. A walk in the local park seemed like just the start to a fine day.

The crisp wind slithered through the boughs of the trees above, shaking each green leaf into some sort of submission before passing on. Rays of sunlight, that dappled the old trunk, with its gray-green mosses and rust spots, quivered and danced their ways onto the ground, and the female figure, below.

Swathed in periwinkle, whites, golds, and an array of wraps and veils, the silver-haird Sorrow sat in rare relaxation with her back against the tree trunk. The distance between the woman's resting spot, and that of the areas where the vast majority of the civilians stopped, was quiet large, and thus offered the woman some much needed seclusion and shelter from their wandering eyes. So much so, in fact, that she allowed herself to remove the porcelain mask that almost always adorned itself over her face.

Said item was now laid in her lap with its inside facing upwards. A few long cracks and small miscolorations showed themselves in scattered locations, but despite the flaws, the item as a whole still gave the deceiving look of being rather new.

Another breeze fluttered by and the woman looked out through the surrounding trees. Her mind drifted back to random thoughts of Azoth and her race, and it was while she was thinking these thoughts that something in the air started to feel a little different. It was a miniscule change...but a change none-the-less...

(( o_O; Shitty post. Sorry))

How does one see when their eyes are hindered from sight? These were questions many people would ask but for one who experienced perpetual darkness on the daily it was the way of life. One need not see to notice the presence so similar to his own...azoth.

Spending most of his time in the small foliage that used to be a full grown flower garden, Ennui perked up his head in the direction the strange aura was pulling him.

Another? Like himself... just how many were there? He could only wonder as he remained calm. A squirel content to sit on the Clockwork's shoulder began to feel his apprehension and quickly skittered off in alarm. Sighing, Ennui dusted off his robes to present a more pleasant appearance before turning his full attention in that particular direction.

The winds continued to dance about him lifting his robes in an array of playful allure. A decidely marginal smirk etched across the Clockwork's lips before it disappeared completely and his attention rested souly on another like him. He could not see her but her presence was no more unnoticed then anyone he'd met before.

"You are a child of azoth." He spoke smoothly, marginally, "...are you not?"

The woman looked up at the other who had spoke, the mask covering her face once more. She had felt his presence grow in a steady pace long before he even came into sight, and so she merely gave enough attention towards his sudden words to simply be courteous.

"I am; as are you, I presume," she replied, her voice soft, even, and sounding of silver bells chiming away. Folding her hands in her lap, she only continued to watch the other through the single eyehole in her porcelain mask. The main thing she noticed was the blindfold, and the curious question of whether the Other could actually see her, or not, crossed her mind in a quick, almost hopefully, manner… though any trace of emotion that might’ve shown itself on her facial features was unseen behind the dried and painted plaster on her face.

That voice was like music to his ears, the moment she spoke he could easily see that he'd be fine conversing with this one. In fact he hoped to get her to speak more if nothing else. He had a thing for women (or even men) with soft melodic voices such as hers.

At her assumption he smiled marginally. "I am." Studying her through means of which only a blind man can he allowed himself to move closer hoping to catch her voice once more. "May I ask, what designation were you given by the creator?" He smiled fully. "Ennui is my name."

Lashes blinked over her eyes before she slightly canted her head. Towards the man's smile she gave a small, quick, one of her own, even though the other couldn't see it, before speaking again in reply. "Sionek...He didn't give me one. You may call me Relíque, though, Ennui," like before, her voice was even and soft, and still a little muffled from the mask.

Continuing to watch him, the thought of asking the question, that had been almost plagueing her mind for a few minutes now, started to hit her brain until finally, and uncharacteristically, she gave in. "Excuse me?" she asked. The least she could do was be well...polite-ish about it? Patiently she waited for him to acknowledge her small beginning of a soon-to-come question.

(( xD; That sucked. Sorry. ))

Quirking his head to the side, he could hear the question in her voice. Over something... for a moment he wondered then a light came on. A marginal smile came to his lips as he slowly inched forward.

"Yes?" he questioned as if to toy with her. Such a pretty voice he wouldn't let her off easily without hearing it once more. "Is there something you wanted to ask me?" He made it obvious that he had an idea of what she wanted of him. Even so he couldn't be positive...

Relíque blinked and then looked at her lap for a second. "Pardon me if my following question sounds intruding, or rude, for it isn't ment to be, but," she looked back up at him with the same canting of her head before she continued, "...can you see... me...?" She tilted her chin down and looked up at him with the one visible eye.

It would be so easy to simply say no and leave it at that but the mechanics of his sight wasn't a simple yes/no answer. In fact, it required plenty of explaination of which he wouldn't bore the poor Clockwork with at least not unless she wished to be bored senseless.

He allowed a small smile to creep across his face as he answered. "Yes I can see you but not as you would expect." Deciding not to go into details he left the topic open for her to persue though he was completely sure of how to explain it. Suddenly he went silent.

She put her fingertips together in her lap and nodded, a dismayed "ah" coming from her mouth. Looks like the mask would stay on then. No matter though...it wasn't like it was off often anyways.

Shifting her position, she looked back at the tall figure, his silence not going unnoticed. "You can sit down...if you want," she offered, touching some random spot on the grass off to her side.

It was sort of pleasant to have company that didn't always ask questions.

Slightly taken by her offer he bit his lip thinking there might be more to her request ... but what more could there be? Deciding to take her up on the offer he nodded. "As the lady wishes..." he spoke softly and took his seat a good distance away so as not to impose on her or have his personal space invaded.

Upon sitting he worked his robes around him much like a dress keeping them crisp and presentable to the eye. Questions were not his strong suit so silence would be their friend this day as he allowed nature's music to play a soft tune for them both.

Fingers still steepled sideways in her lap, the ivory-haired Sorrow watched lightly as the other took a seat. She noted how he displayed his robes; making sure they were neat and precise...It made her think about her own appearance for a moment, but then the thought was gently pushed aside when she decided she didn't care. Anyone else who saw her would still think she was some weirdo collage drop-out going through an indentity crisis, and rumpled skirts and scarves wouldn't change that view.

Flicking her inner mind off the subject, Relíque let herself become aware of her surroundings once more. In the tree above, the twittering of some sort of song bird trickled down around the pair as it mixed with the rustling of leaves. The breeze whistled through the grasses and caught itself in her scarves, which suddenly billowed out and then fluttered back down a moment later.

A deep sigh was released, though it was short lived and barely audible from behind the mask.

"Do you come here often?"
The question came out of the blue, and even the crimson-eyed Sorrow wasn't sure what made her ask it.

"I do." he spoke softely. "I actually live in this area as it were. The chapel over yonder way." He pointed in the general direction possibly off due to his state but it didn't matter one could not miss the chapel.

"I come to this park to relax and meditate. Nothing special there just enjoying what nature has to offer..." He turned his head toward her voice to catch her next words if she so choose to speak. "What about you? Do you come here often?"
PostPosted: Mon Apr 09, 2007 12:08 pm

She followed his hand and there enough, just to the side somewhere where he pointed, she saw the tall belltower of the chapel sticking up over the trees.

Ah, that chapel. Relíque had ducked inside there only once, but never really went back due to the fact that it was always so populated.

Nodding, attention was drawn back to Ennui has he spoke further.

"It depends, really...One week I'll be here everyday, then the next couple weeks I won't come at all." She shrugged, then added,"I always stay in this area though. Not as many people here." She became silent for a moment, looking up to see the top of the belltower again.

"What do you do at the chapel?"
She asked, her tinkling voice holding some sort of curiosity in it.

"Nothing special really, help the Father with funeral and wedding ceremonies. Tend to the orphaned children that find refuge." He paused letting the wind play in his short tossled hair. "I'm not big on company but I'll lend support where I am needed I suppose. Though the Father tends to continually preach to me about his diety." He sighed deeply tired of the usual.

"What about you? Where do you dwell... I mean what do you call home?"
