"A Noble Sight"

Ah yes, a noble sight indeed <3

User Image

Full Name: Prince Diarmad Eideard
Meaning: Diarmad, 'without envy'; Eideard, 'a rich guardian'.
Age: 20
Weight: Not telling!
Height: 5'9

Play: 'Ill Begotten Task: A Princes' Tale'

Diarmad comes from a play set a fantasy world with a medieval theme. It's not a very old play, and not at all well known. The writer was an unassuming man who only ever had a few fans. This play is one of a series, all set within the same world.

The setting is as follows:

The kingdom is an old one, always with a kind upon its throne, their line going back to the great wars where they rode in the frontlines to give their troops hope. Those days have long past. Aside from minor border skirmishes and the usual political play, everything is peaceful. Still there is trouble with an important alliance and the current king is bedridden with an unknown illness. His son, next in line for the throne, will have to do his best to keep things in order.

From early on that son was a wilful child; enjoying the simple pleasures of riding horses and watching the clouds drift past. But he must come to understand the deadly game of court intrigue if he and his family, the ailing king and the meek queen, are to survive. As the play commences he sighs his woes but speaks no more words than are necessary as he watches his outspoken chancellors scurry back and forth.

There may be deep trouble ahead for this kingdom if its young prince cannot get it together in order to deal with the trials of battle, marriage, assassination attempts and the deadly backstabbing of his own nobles.

The end pages are fairly torn and thus unknown, whether more terrible trouble occurs for our prince or all goes well we can only assume.

There are many references to dragons within the play.

Personality:

A proud young man Diarmad speaks from the heart, which can be a mixed blessing. He won't hesitate to flippantly tell the rich fat merchant that he's a 'greedy fool who should be run out of town' and then walk away with his head held high. He tends to dream too much, preferring to sneak away from his duties as a prince and spend time in the quiet shade of a tree.

But when he has to deal with being a royal, he will, and splendidly. Diarmad is a shrewd character, though he certainly doesn't look it, and he does tend to notice everything going on around him. It's just that half the time he's simply too lazy or too relaxed to care.

Even if his life is boring sometimes he's happy to settle down on a cushion and be pampered over while listening to the musicians play his favourite songs. It's not so bad a life if you can get over the constant harping of councillors who think he should learn this or his father telling him to do that. Plus there are the dances. Diarmad loves to dance, with anyone, at anytime.

He keeps his secrets and his silence well. Now and then you'll see an enigmatic smile rise upon his lips, because he knows something that no one else does.

Every so often he's prone to noble gestures, hating to see any injustice to his people. He can also have quite the temper, especially when people get in the wrong way of his pride. Headstrong and impetuous, when he gets an idea it's impossible to get out.

Interesting Props [from act one] : A dragon's wing.

Known as the Dragon King, Diarmad's ancestor had the ability to change into a dragon and used that power to create the kingdom that Diarmad now rules. The line has continued down the ages unbroken. The plays writer would often include props on his characters that would allow people to identify them if the Dragon King, a character in one of his earlier writings.

The prop on his back was put there simply for the audience, a connection to the other plays the writer had written, so everyone knows that he is of that line. While he doesn't have the power to turn into a dragon. It does give a certain feeling to him; fierce and proud like the dragon.

Likes: Dancing, interesting people, chess, daydreaming, Selior, Lady Mure.

Dislikes: Loud people, rude people, Rinter. xD

Further Info On Diarmad

Diarmad's Room

Diarmad's room is on the third floor. It's a large space with a glass door leading to a balcony. At the moment it's fairly dusty and plain but once it's fixed up it will have a very warm and homey feel. Diarmad will insist on some very heavy rugs and a mountain of pillows. The main colour scheme is blue, white and purple. Royal colours of course. The bed is huge, complete with canopy.

Relationships

Friends

Selior: He's abrasive, arrogant, callous – and Diar's best friend. From the beginning Diar clicked with Selior in some odd way. And since Seli is his first friend, Diar is secretly possessive of that friendship, though he hasn't found any reason to beat anyone up yet. Often he'll show he cares with teasing words or by initiating a quick tussle.

Muse: Diar is fond of Muse in his own way. He treats her like the fine lady he believes her to be, though a lot of the time he is indifferent to whether she is there or not.

Enemies

Rinter: Whenever they're in the same room Diar wants to pick Rinter up and throw him off the tallest tower and then burn the bloody scraps into ash... and then step on the ashes. Otherwise, Diar couldn't give a damn about the ignorant, stupid servant boy. Out of sight, out of mind: that's how Diar works. Though at least Rin-Rin is good for teasing.

A Natural Riddle

A Druid's Trial

User Image

Full Name: Gwydion ab Gwyn ab Nudd
Meaning: Gwydion, son of Gwyn, son of Nudd. :3
Age: Unknown
Weight: Unknown
Height: Unknown

Appearance:

Act 1: While his appearance does change from version to version, in this one Gwydion appears old except his skin on his face is remarkably smooth. Obviously his actor is fairly young. His hair is a wild mane of white, spiking backwards. At his temples you can see a few strands of brown, the actors own hair not quite hidden by the wig.

His figure is slightly stooped over, skinny beneath the clothing and the skin is very pale. He looks sickly but is far from it.

It's the eyes that catch the most attention. The right eye is light blue, alert and seemingly seeing everything that goes on. The left eye is white and blind. Blind to the real world at least. Some say that with that eye, the character Gwydion can see the spirits that lead him into the underworld.

For clothing he wears a simply brown cloth tunic and pants. He also carries a brown satchel to hold various healing items and rocks. No shoes, he walks with his feet bare. His clothes are come what tattered at the edges and have various bits and pieces stuck to them, leaves, twigs, flowers.

He has an oaken staff that reaches to about ear level. He is never without it, presumably to hit people across the head with.

Play: 'The Broken Stone'
It is an old play, based around Celtic myth though with its own unique twists. Its author was a talented individual with a great love for his characters and a love of mystery and the unknown.

The story begins with young boy with his destiny ahead. It is up to him to save his people from a near unconquerable evil that will destroy his world. Gwydion only ever only makes two appearances in the play.

The first scene is halfway through the play. The main character is injured, his friends either dead or captured by the enemy. Gwydion appears and spirits him away to a shack deep within an old forest. The main boy stays with Gwydion until he is healed. He thinks of the man as just a strange old hermit, until Gwydion sends him off to continue his journey, imparting a riddle and a mysterious object in the process.

The second and last time he appears is in the last scene. The hero of the story has saved his people but had breathed his last breath. Gwydion is seen carrying him away into a misty netherworld, face covered by a mysterious mask.

A strange being, Gwydion is seen as a sort of druid. He is shrouded in mystery, the two times he appears giving nothing away of his character. Though from the last scene we can assume that he has power over the otherworld, able to move from this world to the next easily. His age is always undetermined; sometimes he's shown middle aged and other times terribly old.

There is also his name, which gives a genealogy of his forefathers and suggests that is father is Gynn, God of the Dead and Lord of the Underworld.

Most of the time is also shown with powers over nature, almost apart of the natural world himself.

Personality:
His personality is fairly interesting. Gwydion seems to know everything. Nothing ever comes to him as a surprise to him. He's a trickster and a storyteller, a man filled with riddles that can only be deciphered at the right time. Perhaps he knows the future? The trees, the sky, the earth. He loves the world and all in it, though humankind often doesn't live up to his expectations.

A mysterious man, no one ever knows what he's thinking.

Likes: Riddles, the natural world, confusing people, whasking people with his staff

Dislikes: Who knows? XD

Oh, man, Quatre loves to blame himself for everything if you let him. Sooner or later, he'll start saying that there's no air in space because he didn't work on it hard enough. -- Duo

Laaady Poison! <3333

Full Name: Everild Alodie
Meaning: Everild, 'The slayer of the boar'; Alodie, 'Wealthy, prosperous'.
Age: 21
Weight: Er.. get her some scales.
Height: 4'3

Appearance:
Act 1 - When casting for the character of Everild, the person in charge decided that he wanted to primp her up a bit. Where the character was supposed to have long straight dark brown hair and purple eyes, the girl chosen to play her has curly blonde hair and light blue eyes.

The clothes in the first stage will be a simple purple dress, in olden day style. In her curly blonde hair (peroxide!) is a blue bow. Her skin is on the tanned side, a bit of latino blood! (Aharhar! -shot-) Definitely unlike the girl she is meant to be. She looks sweet and innocent.

She definitely leaves a lot out of whom Everild really is. The play writer would be rolling in his grave.

Play: 'The Failings Of Love'

This is a story of forbidden love. A minor character in the play, Everild is the daughter of the main antagonist. She is a meek girl who has very few lines, most of which consist of apologizing to her mother for anything she does. At times she is used for a scapegoat by her tyrannical mother, or used to pull off certain dirty acts such as poisoning.

Extremely nervous, she is always in her mothers shadow and is never thought much of. It's at the end that things take a turn.

Where and when the play is set is uncertain, it's an old and rather battered play with various versions. But one thing remains the same. At the end Everild kills her mother. Obviously having had enough, and rather fond of the two main lovers, Everild poisons her.

At that point it's quite obvious that Everild has snapped, looking on coldly as her mother squirms on the floor in agony. You don't see her again after that, but the main characters vaguely mention her once or twice, as the new Lady Alodie and that she is moving to France.

Personality: Everild is a very nervous young woman, who finds it difficult to relate to people. She tries, and she truly wants to have friends, but her stumbling over words and shyness often annoys everyone enough that they simply walk away. She feels the need to apologize for everything, even if it’s something she has no control over, as she feels it was her fault in some way.

Ever can't actually remember anything from her play or her actor's life. It’s all blank. All she receives are vague feelings of anger, shame and something darker she can't quite explain.

Likes: Silence, reading, roses.

Dislikes: "N..nnothing." >.> -rolls eyes-
