Things just weren't going as planned.
It had sounded so easy, planning it out in the Ragnarok. Mix belief, love, friendship, and you'd be back where you were supposed to be. But that hadn't been what happened, not at all. Perhaps for some of the group, but not for everyone. Not for him. Not Seifer, either...the time compression must have put their own time in disarray as well. Squall was still trying to figure out how his rival had gotten here.
And if there were humans here, why the hell had he become this creature? At least he somehow knew how to move and walk properly...even if eating a vegan diet took getting used to.

Lovey moved easily through the woods towards a clearing. It had been a couple of days since she had run into anybody.. be it two-legged or four.. and she was in a light mood. Adults made her angry, it was probably because of a second childhood her mind was taking and a light personality that topped it off.
She grinned and tossed her mane back - purple and blue chunks of almost outrageous hair - the stupid stuff fell into her eyes all the time. Life was okay right now, she hadn't been hurt by anyone or thing. Her two-legger, a crazy little thing, was less clingy than usual..
Yes.. the world was going on just fine...
Lovey paused and cocked her head, a most unusual looking Soquili was up ahead.. He had a.. lion's tail? Cool! She picked up a light trot and stopped a few feet behind the stallion, "Hello."

A leonine tail twitched with irritation, but if there was one thing about Squall that you could say, it was that he was well trained. He might not be civil, or social, but he wasn't about to just walk past someone.
Walk away after they started talking, maybe. But like it or not, he was going to have to ask around if he wanted to find Rinoa in this place. "...Hello."

Lovey canted her head to the left a bit. This was going to either be one of the most interesting converstations of her life... or .. the shortest. She smiled encouragingly up at the stallion. She was a smart mare but did that mean she had to be unfriendly too?
Winking an eye at him, not flirting just hoping to put him more at ease and less.. gruff? "I'd say hello again.. but I think that would be redundant.. I'm Lovey Dovey.. and If I may ask your name?"

((Oh dear god.)) Muscles tensed all over Squall's body as the mare winked at him. If this mare started hitting on him, he was going to run and training be damned. Seifer would have a field day with that, of course...if he ever heard about it. Unless his rival had some woods-creature following him around, that didn't seem likely.
At least she wasn't to that point yet...maybe he'd get a chance to ask about Rinoa. Unless she was a predatory type, that would probably put any thought of flirting out of her mind.
"It would be," he finally agreed. "...And it's Squall."

Lovey chuckled lightly and smiled up at him. Memo to self.. keep flirting down in the negatives. She figured she could probably get away with being friendly, but he certainly did take to being flirty. Although, Lovey wasn't much of a flirt.. she had watched other mares and they did it okay.. maybe she was just.. cheesy?
He seemed to be pondering whether run for it or if she was going to behave herself. Lovey had always been good at reading people.. or she was just apprehensive of winking at a complete stranger, "Don't worry.. I'm not going to ask you to bare my children for at least another hour..."

"I'd hope not," slipped out. There was the definite air of surprise after ward...Squall had been intending to keep that a private thought. ((Damnit...I need to watch that. I don't want a hoof upside the head...)) He shifted his weight slightly. "...Sorry about that. I've been looking for someone."
Might as well ask about Rinoa before he peeved the mare too much.

Lovey just shook out her mane and grinned up at a this Squall character. He was most definately overly touchy about some things but at least he had the manners to say he was sorry when he was borderline rude. If he had smiled after the I hope now. then Lovey would probably have just laughed and grinned but for now all she really could do was blunder through as if none of their greeting had occurred. Frowning lightly she questioned, "Who are you looking for?"

Well. Perhaps this was getting somewhere. "Rinoa," Squall replied, mind working. Would she look the same here? He did, and Seifer did, but what if she wasn't four-legged but two? What if she wasn't here at all? "I don't know what...what form she's in here, but she has black hair and wears a blue dress."

Lovey blinked lightly, cocking her head to once side and completely caught off-guard. She was yet to find a stallion that was actually LOOKING for a mare and one that wore a dress at that. She smiled as nicely as she could at him and shook her head, "no.. I'm afraid I've only really been around here for not quite two months and I've never met a Rinoa"

"...Well, was worth a shot." Squall shrugged, the ruff of his jacket rustling slightly. Nothing since becoming a SeeD had really come easily, he shouldn't have expected this to be easy either.
((Then again...there's no Garden here. Am I really a SeeD anymore?))

He tossed a bit of his hair out of his eyes. Thankfully aside from his...forelock?...his mane was short-cropped. "She's...a friend...a couple others have made it here, so I was wondering if she had. But I'll have to keep looking for now."

Lovey frowned at the stallion and almost wished she had the right appendages to give the human equivalent of a hug. The stallion seemed most desperate to find this.. Rinoa? She'd not heard of her before and she had met quite a lot of people so far...
"Uhm... What does she look like... anything that I would know her about.. so I could tell her that... uhm Squall is looking for her?"
She shook her mane out again, it was a shame the stallion seemed all work and no play.. They were the most uninteresting to her.

Eyes of steel-tinted blue flicked to the mare, showing a hint of puzzlement. He'd just described her...hadn't he? ...Well, it wouldn't hurt him to say it again. Just irritate him a little perhaps. "Black hair, with a brown streak or two, a blue dress with wings painted onto the back, brown eyes...I would imagine she's also wearing clothes like me, if she's even here, or in a form like mine..." He shook his head with a snort. Too many unknowns, dammit!

A slow shake of her head and a slight blush followed by, "I think I was too wrapped up in trying to place the name with an image to realize I had already been told what she looks like." Her cover was likely to be true - space cadet that she was often missed well - obvious things. She smiled up at him as sweetly as she could, "You won't hold that against me will you?"

Squall shrugged indifferently. "Wouldn't matter if I did." He wasn't really bothered, but he figured that he wasn't likely to see this mare again, with how big the place was. He just had to keep looking, trying to find if anyone else he knew was here. He'd even be glad to see Irvine, honestly.
