"Erm...Saix?...Sir?..."
The little angelic nervously stepped through the doors to the throne room, green eyes darting around for any sign of the current Superior. In his hands, Demyx carried a small box, tied shut with a somewhat messy bow. He wasn't exactly the most coordinated of the bunch, but at least he had made an effort to make it presentable.

Saix sat atop his throne, reading through some notes he had found that were left scattered about the castle. Nothing too relavent, learning no more than what he already did.
Hearing a squeaky voice, his eyebrow raised, it could only be one person. He put down the notes and looked down seeing just who he thought he would. Raising himself up and placing the notes down on the chair he lowered himself to the ground, standing infront of the young angelic. "Yes Demyx? Is something wrong now?" His eyes moved down to notice the box, could this be what he was waiting for all this time?

"Nothing w-wrong...just w-wanted to bring you s-something..."
A sheepish grin present on his maw, the sitarist held out the box so Saix could take it. It wasn't likely the demonic would find the thing he seeked contained inside, but he -had- worked hard on the gift. During his free time that morning the angelic had found himself a recipe book and managed to bake the other some cookies. Some heart shaped cookies even.
Now Demyx hoped Saix not only liked the treat, but didn't go off on him for wasting time or anything like that. Nervously, the boy shifted back and forth, wings fidgeting on his back.

Opening the box, with the utmost care, not knowing really what to expect, especially after seeing Demyx's small grin. That usually spelt somekind of trouble. Plucking off the top, Saix's eyes met the contents of the gift. Looking between the small boy and the cookies, he honestly had no idea how to reply. He had been making an effort to be nice to Demyx, especially after all that had happened in the past, but...he didn't expect this.
Alright, Saix hoped, these weren't too sweet, but he would eat one for his second in command anyway. Plucking out a heart shaped cookie, which was dwarfed by the size of his paws, giving it a quick inspection, he ate the cookie in one bite. The plus of having a giant maw.
It was pretty good, though still, not the kind of gift he'd expected. "It's good...but I do have one question for you." He swallowed the cookie and stared down at the young one. "Did you destroy the kitchen to make these?"

"You like them?"
Tail swishing happily, the sitarist grinned up at the other. Okay, heart shaped cookies weren't a heart, nor the lost papers, but if the diviner liked the gift then Demyx would be thrilled.
His ears flattened at the mention of a question though. Crap, here it comes...sure they were good, but Saix wouldn't appreciate the way he spent his morning would he? But...the yelling never came. Just a simple question... Ears perking back up cautiously, the youth moved to answer.
"N-no....Well, there was a bit of a mess with the pans and stuff, but I cleaned it up! Promise!"
The nervous grin returned, and Demyx quickly went back to his fidgeting.

"They're pretty good." He covered the box up and placed it under his arm.
Hearing that Demyx didn't make too much of a mess, and that he had the responcibility to clean it up showed that the younger audio was growing up. Maybe it was time to toughen him up and make him more assertive, though, he'd have to make sure that he stayed loyal to himself, or that would just cause problems.
Though all that would have to wait just a while. "Demyx, you're a good cook. But you should learn to cook something besides cookies and cold sandwiches."

"But I like cookies and sandwiches..."
Tilting his head, the sitarist stared up at the other curiously.
"And Luxord cooks for me and stuff....what would I learn to cook anyway?"

He stared down, slightly glaring. "You need to become selfreliant Demyx. What if you were completely alone, would you be able to take care of yourself?"

"But I'm not alone...."
Demyx's ears flattened back. The sitarist was -not- happy over such a thought. Being alone was one of the last things he ever wanted. Still, despite the arguement, he had to answer Saix's question.
"...N-no....I w-wouldn't..."

"What would you do if you ended up stranded somewhere? Hm? Even worse, if you were stranded not alone, but with others, but you were the only one uninjured, would you be able to take care of the situation?" Glaring eyes seemed more distraught than angry at this point. Demyx not being able to take care of himself was not something that was becoming of a second in command. He'd need to be able to take care of himself, and others, if needed.

"I....I....I d-d-don't know..."
Whining, the sitarist looked up at the diviner. He could see that Saix's eyes didn't contain only anger, but his own eyes were growing moist with tears.
"I'd t-try! It's not like I'd just ignore t-them..."

Saix sighed, "Calm down. We don't know if this will happen or not. The point is, it's time for you to grow up Demyx. You have to become someone people can depend on and be strong. Acting like a child may have it's benefits but you need to grow past that. Do you understand?"

"P-people will d-depend on me? R-really?..."
Sniffling, the angelic lifted a paw to wipe the tears away.
"Is it because I'm s-second in command? I...I dunno how to be a s-second in c-command Saix..."

Saix placed his large paws on the slender male's shoulders. "You are more capable than you let yourself on to be. You're strong, but you choose to ignore it. You must toughen yourself up, you are worthy of being second in command, but you must not take the position lightly in knowing that."

At first Saix would find the other trembling underneath his paw. Demyx had thought the diviner was moving to strike him, or some such thing, but slowly he calmed down under the touch.
"I...I am? But...what can I do to get s-stronger?"
