::About the Humans::
There are two different group of human beings on Telk, one of which can be compared to Earth's Native American tribes and the other that can be described as conquesting foreigners. It -is- possible to have a character of your own that belongs to this tribe, if you wish. The only way you can have your wolf bond with a human (which isn't necessary at all...the human character might add a little more fun for some people) is if this human is part of either of the two tribes OR one of the foreigners. That means NO kitty-girls, no demon-influenced people, etc. Anyone who obtains a wolf and does not choose to have a human to bond with it suffers no ill-effects. Images will not be given out of these human counterparts, FYI, however it is encouraged that you create your own images.
*The reason that I will not allow magically influenced beings and fantasy-esque RP characters is because I don't want this world to be influenced by anymore magic than is found with the wolves already. I want things to stay as natural as possible. Thank you.*
Those interested in having a human that will bond with your wolf needs to state so upon receiving a wolf and needs to give me a name for this human. Human-to-wolf bonding will aid a wolf by having someone to care for them if they are injured and will aid the human by having a companion for protection and/or help in hunting.
::Native Tribesman::
These beings are very in tune with nature and are very careful in what they do, how they hunt, and what they use from the world around them. They have shamans, hunters, and warriors of their own and both respect and fear the wolves. They only hunt wolves for necessary means, such as for fur or the meat (if nothing else huntable is available) and these hunts are very rare. Wolves are considered a sign of prosperity and are welcomed near their homes despite the danger to their young children. Guns do not exist in the native tribes.
Their camps are like that of a Native American colony with large hide-covered huts around the outside with a large community firepit and gathering space in the center. They have large racks outside their huts for tanning hides, drying meats and vegetables as well as private firepits for the use of their family. These people have domesticated wolves that have been bred-down through the generations so they resemble domesticated dogs more than wolves. It is not uncommon to find a domesticated full-blood wolf amongst their ranks, however. The natives will taken in abandoned pups if they're found and will raise them to be loyal companions and excellent hunting utensils. These dogs and wolves are never chained up unless they prove to be violent, and even then the wolves are usually allowed free-roam and can return to the wild at any point should they choose.
Appearance-wise, the natives are dark-skinned with brown to black hair and very dark colored eyes. An average adult male will grow to the height of 6 to 6'8ft while an average adult male will grow to about 5-5'6ft tall. Natives are generally lanky to average proportions build wise with very strong facial features. Normal daily wear ranges from hardly a shred of clothing to deer-skin pants and shirts embellished with feathers, glass beads, and bone. Hair styles vary enormously.
::Foreign Invaders::
The foreign travelers are currently located in the extreme north in small groups having left their home country to seek new resources and claim new lands for colonization. These people are very self absorbed, having little care for the destruction they're bringing to the forest and to it's inhabitants. The current group consists of anywhere from 80-100 invaders, a good 80% of them being middle-aged men. These men are the ones directly responsible for the slaughter of the wolf packs that have left most of the RPed wolves homeless. They kill only for pelts.
Their home bases are very small, consisting of wooden buildings much like log cabins. They've started to form "towns", including a trading post, a school, and several community buildings who's purpose is unknown. This town is located a few miles from a port where they initially set foot on Telk. Professions vary amongst the foreigners: the women are usually the teachers, the weavers, and the homemakers while the men are the hunters, the "business men", and the crafters. Children are not abundant yet, but there are some. They attend informal school and learn tricks of the trade that can be used later to help the colonies prosper in the future.
These people have brought non-native species to Telk such as chickens, goats, pigs, cows, and horses to use for their purposes. Large mammels such as horses and cows are not abundant, being that they take up too much room in the belly of a ship, but breeding programs have been started so calves and foals are likely to be seen. Sheep are one of the most wide-spread livestock, being that they are good for food and for the manufactoring of clothing. They have domesticated dogs, usually large burly dogs such as wolfhounds and small terriors that are good for going into underground spaces to flush out prey. They also have wolf/dog hybrids, which were bred during their time in the forest. Full-blooded wolves are rare, but the foreigners do have them.
The average look for the invaders vary more than the native tribesmen. The foreigners tend to have hair colors that range from blonde to black, usually cropped short on the men (though not always) and left extremely long on the women. Their skin complexion is more olive-toned than the bronze of the native tribemean. The men grow facial hair in most instances as well. Clothing is generally made of wool and kept long to protect legs and arms while breaking new trail through the forest. Everything they wear is practical.
