Murdoc Otori Vice Captain

I decided to make a small tutorial for some guild members who may be new to the concept of RPing: Role playing is the act of taking on the role of a character who interacts with other's own characters who are also involved in the same role play, or RP. It's like writing a story or adventure with a group of friends, and is rather easy to get the hang of: These symbols: *...* or ::...:: Usually indicates action, example: ::Murdoc danced about the room like a freak, screaming,:: Lookit me! Sometimes RPers use different symbols to indicate action, or use the style found in books where they don't use symbols at all, and instead use quotation marks for speaking. Example: Murdoc walked through the forest, kind of wary of the creepy trees, "This is really creepy," He said aloud to himself, This symbol: (...) Indicates when a player is going 'OOC', or speaking out of character, such examples can be, (I gotta go, mom wants me to take out the trash), meaning that the person is speaking as themselves and not as their character.

Well, if it is for literate Rping. Mostly the rules would apply in a way that you don't use "U" or the other text word shortcuts. (Sorry. I don't know a lot of text words..that one of the only ones I know. >->; ) Check your grammar. It doesn't have to be perfect just try and check on what you are spelling and placing the commas at. Another, is to try and picture the event going in your mind and drawing it out into typing, like describing things would be a good example, " The room of which the young bunny was staying aboard in was a pretty plain, standard size room. It had a double bed laid against the wall, where the window hung over it. The damps of the window was a light violet color and when open the sun would reveal the white layers of the walls in the room and ran color carpet on the floor. On the right side of the bed a desk stood plainly in sight, four drawers were on the sides for the use of storing away stuff and all sorts of other things." That just a basic thing, but you can actually just shorten it and limit out the information to stuff like what was in the room. Even walking you can make some fun out of it by thinking of where you are going. From most of the Rp's I have been in. Most people want at least three sentence or five, I normally go to the extent of making it into paragraphs. (If I can think.) The last I can think of is to just basically have fun. That is what Rping is all about.
Will update it if I can remember more. Or if another wants to add to it.

biggrin Thanks for putting that up there, Shunny Bunny. I would have done it myself, but I wanted to first make sure there was room for literate RPers.
