Yellowish eyes peered out from behind a bush. It was their first time seeing the world since birth, and the owner of the pretty little eyes wanted to take in everything she possibly could, without getting yelled at by her Papa or Mama. 'Don't go too far, my dear.' Her Papa would say in his friendly voice, but kept it stern enough to scare his eldest daughter into not wanting any trouble. When he was mad, Papa was mad...that was for sure. And there was no turning back when he was mad.
But the little filly loved him all the same. She loved everyone, it took a lot to get little Abattie to hate someone, unless you made her cry. If you made her cry, she would have a hard time befriending you. The yellow filly was very sensitive, very emotional, most of what came out of her tiny body were tears.
But right now, Abattie was far from any tears. Right now she was enjoying fun time by herself, hiding from her younger sister and brother, and both of her parents. Both Bairn and Astia had taken to taking to eachother about their newly hatched children and how different their life was going to be. Well, with the three of them...life could only get better, right?
Giggling softly, the yellow filly waited to see if either of her siblings would eventually find her hiding spot.

Kiefers eyes sprung open, and burned for a moment as the bright light of day filled him. Soon, he was able to see the full extent of the world, all the colors rushing into sight as if they were in a contest to capture his attention. With out a thought he scrambled up onto his legs, throwing his head. A small voice in his head told him to watch out for danger, but he brushed it off. Who cared?
Trotting around a bit, testing his legs and the footing, a golden sparkle catching his eye. How pretty. He threw himself forward to the boosh, charging into it, and leaping right over the golden object to take it by surprise. That was a bit of a mistake...his unsure legs did not land properly, and he tumbled down onto his side. No worries, though.

It was only a second before it happened did the little yellow filly even realize that someone was coming towards her. She stood there and stared up at the creature that had tumbled over he head, onto it's side.
Yellowish eyes stared at it for a moment and then she ended up laughing. It wasn't something she should be afraid of at all! In fact it was only a little colt, one that Abattie had a hard time reconizing at first glance. The world was new and big, it was hard to remember things when everything was coming at you all at once.
But the one thing she always remembered was, when she was a basket, her Papa had told her that he'd name her Abattie if she was a female...and then if that was the case he'd call her Attie for short. 'It's your own special name, little one.' He said to her a long time ago. 'Those who care about you will call you Attie, those who don't will call you Abattie.'
"Hello!" She shouted into the little colt's ears, "hello!" She repeated, louder.

His bright green eyes darted to his object of interest. Another foal, he could tell that much. It looked just like him...similar colors, similar size. He remembered his father and mother talking about how he would have siblings, other foals that looked just like him.
Could this possibly be one of those brother or sister things?
His thought process was broken slightly as it came over to him, and screamed right in his ear. The sound stung, and he winced. He knew from his time in the basket that family was valued deeply, that they were all supost to be nice to eachother, that they all were supost to love eachother. That was what his mother and father was constently saying. They had to love family, since there was such a big one. If this waws a sibling, why did it hurt him?
"Owww..." He said, shaking his head as if trying to shake the sound out of his ear. "too...loud.." He got up, shaking again to get the dirt off. The other foal looked like him in the basics, but lacked his stripes, and had a more yellowy tone to it's golden caot.
He struggled to remember what to call himself. His parents had told him many times...but details like that, who needed them? He pawd at the ground slightly in frustrationg. Kee...kief....Kiefy? No...that was wrong.. Kief...er! That was it! Kiefer!
"My name is Kiefer, who are you?" he asked, tilting his head to the side.

Dark brown eyes slid open slowly, and a smile stretched across the filly's face. What was this? It was bright. With a blink, the youngest of Astia and Bairn's children stumbled to her feet, and looked around, trying to remember what this place was. Oh yes- The world. Was that what it was called? Yes, that was what Momma had said. Where was Momma? Questions circled around Tahlia's mind like a blender. And where was Papa? A slight frown tugging at her blissful face, she started to wander away from her protective little nest in the bushes, chocolate eyes darting to each new thing of interest. All sorts of things were fluttering through the air. Brightly colored things fragily floating through the wind, noisy creatures that kept singing... It was almost overwhelming! Tahlia continued to stumble along, still unsteady on her feet.
She sighted something not that unusual- two things that looked quite alot like her! And like Mama, and Papa. Maybe those two things knew where her family was. Should she really ask, though?
Tahlia shook her mane, and stepped closer, but did no more.

It didn't quite process just exactly what she had done to the poor colt, screaming in his ear like she did. Why would it hurt someone so badly, just to be friendly and talk to them? The little yellow filly wasn't much of a talker to begin with, but the golden colt in front of her definitely intruiged her. Just like her Papa had told her, 'Don't let those you find interesting leave you, you'll find that they're all you have in the world besides your own family.' The little filly blinked as those words came to mind.
What? That didn't make any-oh!
The golden colt in front of her just had to be who she thought it was, he definitely smelt like Papa. Yea, the scent on him was almost way too familiar to just let it pass.
"Sorry." Abattie mumbled softly, tearing sweeling up in her yellowish eyes. "I didn't mean to hurt you..."
Her voice trailed off as she listened to him say his name and then it was almost as if a lightbulb had went off in her head. Kiefer, she repeated, and Tahlia...right? That's what he said, that's what Papa said to her. Her siblings, Kiefer and Tahlia.
"I'm Abattie, silly Kiefer don't you know me?"
It was then that the presence of another foal arose into the area and caused the emotional little filly to spring up and look around. "Who's there?" She questioned with a scared tone...her Mama and Papa weren't around, now she could get seriously hurt. The familiar scent of her parents continued to sting her nose and Abattie knew the two of them weren't around. She knew where they were...they didn't find her this easily.

Kiefer blinked, noticing a third foal coming into his feild of view, this one with different colors, but certainly the same patterns. Perhaps....a sibling as well. He knew he had two, and could it be a conincidence that he, and two other foals that looked so similar to him be in the same place? Probubly not.
Soon he became aware of the smell. It filled his nostrils, a farmiliar smell, like his parents. Yes...this was his....family. The world that held such importance rang in his head.
"Abattie...oh...yes.." the name clicked immeidetly. And he was kiefer...that meant.... "You...are my...sister? And you are Tahlia!" he said, clearly proud of making such a exellent observation, since Abattie was clearly a bit quicker on the up take.
"Mama and Papa... where are they?" He asked, looking around. Ah, whatever. He streched out, begining to get a feel for moving comfortably. "What shall we do...sisters?" he asked. They were strangers, in yet, he knew them. It was an akward comfort, an uninformed knowlage. He would have to get to know these sisters, but somehow, he felt like he already did.

Oh, her name! Tahlia smiled warmly and skipped over to the other two foals, occasionally stumbling, but never falling. Kiefer and Abattie, yeah.. Mamma had told her about them. They were already off though, by the time she got out of her basket. The filly nodded eagerly towards her brother.
Papa had said her brother and sister would know her name, and not a doubt was in her mind. They smelled like Mama and Papa, too. Where were they, anyways?
Tahlia shrugged in response to her older sister's question, but still did not speak. She just didn't feel like it, and it would remain that way till she decided to talk, the stubborn thing.
Her brown eyes finally lessened as her eyelids slid over them, till they were only have open. She wasn't so eager to go explore right now, the comforting smell of her siblings made her feel safe, and suddenly... ever so tired. The little filly yawned, but waited for her other siblings to become tired and to lay down before she allowed herself too.

Tahlia...Kiefer? Yes! That would make perfect sense, even more sense because they were foals and they were all around here. Most parents didn't let their children wander off far...and as far as Abattie was sure of, they were the only ones. And their parents? Oh, there was NO way her Papa or Mama would let her or her siblings wander off.
"Tahlia?" The little filly repeated, yellowish eyes staring at the new filly that looked so much like their Papa. Yes, that had to be her it would only make sense.
Turning back to her younger brother, Abattie frowned. "I know! But I don't want them to find us, so no." A young, light and happy giggle escaped her throat...it sounded almost opposite to the laughter her Papa carried with him.
And then his second question came, which made the little yellow filly bound over to her younger sister. "Well, Tahlia's tired, Kiefer. Papa and Mama says that siblings do things together." She blinked, and then plopped her little body on the ground. "Tahlia can't do nothing if she's tired!"
Now, she was definitely the oldest, it was her job to guide her younger sisters in their lives, that's what Papa said being an older sibling meant...

Yes, these were definetly his sisters. He stood inbetween the two, looking back and fourth from one to the other. He felt like he was in the middle in a few sense. He was the middle in age, the only boy, and as far as his markings went, he had the different stripes that Tahlia wore so well, as well as the golden color that glistened on Abattie's coat.
"I don't want them to find us either!" said Kiefer, suddenly exicted. They were certainly doing something their mama and papa wouldn't want..they were alone. But the rush it gave Kiefer...he liked it, quite a bit. It didn't even cross his mind that his parents may not like him being out alone.
He smiled. Abattie was the oldest, it seemed. But he was the only boy. Certainly...that meant he would have to protect his sisters through it all. That was what it meant to be the only boy in the family, right? He tought of his papa...he was the only boy as well! Kiefer frowned...he didn't know much about his Mama's family. She never spoke about it.
"But.." he said in protest, looking around. Suddenly the small area that he was in seemed very boring compared to the very large....everywhere else! He wanted to explore...he wanted to play! But....Tahlia was tired. He felt guilty about thinking about abandoning his little sister. He would have to stay with her, it seemed. Even if he wanted to do something else.

There was a soft thud as Tahlia plopped down on the grass, relieved that she could lie down after so much walking. The filly smiled at her older sister, and mumbled quietly, "But.. Mama and Papa will get mad, won't they? And.. What if.." She frowned, trying to find the right words to say, but none came out. But the others wanted to.. and it wasn't so bad. She could explore some more, maybe.
Tahlia yawned, a settled her small head on her outstretched legs, looking up at her brother silently. She felt a bit seperate from her siblings, she was the only one that looked like Papa...
"Can we explore?" All thoughts of Papa and Mama slid out of her mind, and she had to admit she was actually rather excited. But still a bit tired. "Would we be able to explore?" She asked again, chocolate eyes hopeful as she looked up at Kiefer and Abattie.

A small nodd came from the little yellow filly as both of her siblings had so easily agreed to not letting their parents find them. Well, at least her brother had said so, little Tahlia had to have a bit of convincing, but that shouldn't be too hard.
"Okay then!" Abattie said loudly, her voice rang out into the sky. Another thing that made her different than her Papa, was her voice. It was loud...but not annoying. Just loud.
"Kiefer listen to me." The little yellow filly looked at her brother sternly, then turned to Tahlia. She leaned in a nuzzled her little sister softly when she finally spoke. "So what? If Mama and Papa get mad they'll go looking for us. They'll find us, they will." Her voice went back to it's softness, trying to get Tahlia to agree to the exploring idea.
"Of cource! We can always explore, we just can't go too far, I don't know my way back home if we go too far." Abattie stood up again and laughed. "Come on, let's go! I'll lead the way!"

Kiefer looked down at Tahlia. She wanted to explore...great! She didn't look as enthused as he was, however. He hoped she wouldn't mind going as far was he was hoping to go.
"Yup, exploring will be fun!" he said, backing up his older sister. "and don't worry about what mama and papa will say if we go exploring. That is later...we should just have fun, now!" that statement very much summed up Kiefer. He lived in the present. Thinking about the consequences of his actions....it wasn't something he did often.
He felt a bit crestfallen in hearing Abattie say they couldn't go too far. "But...I am sure we will find our way back. It can't be too hard!" he said, looking at the area. Yup, he could remember it, right?

Tahlia frowned for a moment as her sister explained. "But..." What if they didn't? The thought disturbed her slightly. But still... exploring! The filly thought it over for a moment, and slowly got to her feet, still a bit weary.
"Okay!" Tahlia chirped brightly, and started scanning the area with young eyes. "As long as we don't go too far, I guess." Suddenly she stopped, her head perked to one side, an ear pricked up towards the babbling noise of a brook. "Whas that?" The filly blinked, and looked up at her two siblings. "Can we go see what it is? Please?"

She frowned, Kiefer seemed to not mind getting in trouble, for it was later..but Tahlia on the other hand seemed to still not want to give in to the words of her older siblings.
So Abattie shrugged. She couldn't take sides, she didn't want to upset one of them. "They'll find us, Tahlia. They're smart. They're our parents, silly!" She giggled, then turned to Kiefer. "We DON'T want to get in trouble because then we won't be able to explore anymore so we have to stay close-"
The yellow filly jumped at her sister's sudden interest in a strange noise. It caused the young foal to turn and stare off into the direction she thought it came from. "What?" Abattie turned to look at Tahlia and Kiefer with a wicked grin placed upon her innocent face.
"Well, of cource! Let's go, guys! Let's go!" She repeated, bounding off towards the strange noise. Whatever it was better be ready to meet three young foals, cause they were coming.
