First, before the actual discussion part of the thread, i have created a mule account solely for raising money to buy a guild ( eek 20K eek ) and if anyone could help me create the "Chivalry's Revival Guild" I would be grateful. Either by donation to chivalrysrevival or just getting the word out, please assist teh ammon in this endeavor.
Now for the actual discussion: i have noticed the lack of respect for women by the general population of the country. the only word i have for it is revolting. what happened to cause the downslide of feminine virtue and character that is unfortunately so lacking in todays young women? i have also noticed that with the increase in the number of shallow men that the women feel more and more like they have to dress and act, frankly, like "scarlet women". how could we as a nation let this progress so far? is this really how you would want your daughter(s) to live?! i know that if any guy so much as looked at one of my sisters the way they do at other girls at school, he would never do it again by the time stephon(one of my brothers) and i got done with him. i know its over-protective but i would much rather have them be sheltered than treated with such indignity and disrespect. i challenge the men of this guild to open a door, use kind words, and just treat them like a person rather than objects whose only purpose is to cater to your every sexual whim. be a gentleman, help them think highly of themselves, and help them to maintain their dignity in such an undefined existance. watch and see what happens because i promise you, even though it may be a little thing and even though not everyone will change or even care, it will matter to someone and you never know when that someone will be someone like my friend who was at the end of her rope and almost attempted to kill herself. small actions can alter the course of many and the world can be improved by a minority.

Where have all the cowboys gone? gonk
I totally agree with you and it disgusts me to no end. Have you seen the scandalous hoochie clothes they make for LITTLE GIRLS !?!?!!? Oh my goodness. Hopefully I'll get luck and have kids in the millenium x-X I'm kind of scared to have kids in this day and age. I was watching Motel the other day and they were talking about all these scandalous trends taking place in high schools there days. I've only been out a few years and I've never even heard of them. If I'm this out of the loop now, I honestly do not want to think what it will be like when my kids are just a few years younger than me.
You know what I absolutely love? Is how much Heavenly Father loves and respects woman, He shows it in like everything, it's awesome. People need to be more like that.

Shyah, the world has gone-to-pot in that sence, and in most others, yah, most, almost all, nearly all, but mostly just most others, pretty close to all others, but not quite, you know what I mean?

chilvilry seems to have died, but think about it, it gives us a chance to grow for our lights to shine brighter. as the world grows harsher, more people will try to find true happiness and will turn to the lord. it just means the time is nigh, and we should rejoice with such tidings.

Power to the gentlemen! I completely agree. Even though us women should learnt o be independant and not toally rely on guys, courtesy and just plain manners and respect still are important. We can do things outselves for sure but it doesn't mean guys can slack off and do whatever they want and expect us to deal with it.
I'm so willing to donate!

Chivalry's not dead, it's just registered on the endangered species list.
One of the cartoons my 10yr old sister watches is called Xiaolin Showdown, and one of the characters refuses to ever fight a girl, despite his buddy telling him chivalry's dead. The only reason he gives is "Just wouldn't be right." When an evil cat woman stole a sacred relic, he went as far as to ask if she had any male relatives he could fight in her place. He just couldn't bring himself to do it. (For anyone concerned, he eventually bear-hugged her long enough to allow one of his buddies get the relic back.)
So I figure if it's on after school-hour cartoons, chivalry still has a fighting chance.
That, and even when I was in highschool, I would tell my guy friends not to swear in front of a lady, and they actually listened. They'd go as far as to remind each other in front of me. And it may well have been because they read too many fantasy novels that chivalry actually mattered to them, but that's leaps and bounds better than most teenage boys, I think.

original godsmack chilvilry seems to have died, but think about it, it just means the time is nigh, and we should rejoice with such tidings. Definitly. The D&C is always saying "I come quickly." If He was saying that almost 200 years ago, think about how close we are now eek

I agree, since the 1940's chivilrousness has all but gone, Girls don't expect guys to be kind anymore. it is sad But I have to say that there are still a few good men. Yesterday when my 2 friends and I were at the temple we were doing confermations and a girl walked in late. Every guy in that room (exept the temple workers of course) stood up and offered her a chair. It was really cool. I prepose that we should have a fund raiser. Who seconds?

Tiancum Girls don't expect guys to be kind anymore. Naw, I still do. I don't nessessarily expect them all to meet that expectation though, if that makes sense, lol. All my friends are usually guys. If they're not kind to me, what sort of friends are they?
