Considering we're taking our sweet time producing an RP, and I know many members are looking forward to writing something, how would members feel about writing a short, solo story, with the chance of winning a prize?
Say, 1000 word max limit (or is that too short for some of you? xD), judged on originality, grammar/punctuation/spelling, entertaining-ness (is that a word? xD) etc.
Three prize places, 1st, 2nd and 3rd (duh! xD). I don't mind fronting the cash for the first-place prize, if some of the other Mods don't mind chipping in for the other two.
Thoughts?

bribing members to produce work.... hmm... in the great words of Guiness makers Brilliant! as for the word limit rule, i feel it may short change some people stories, unless you want a more overall description of the story. OR (heres an idea) hold the event, have any and everyone, come up with a short description of thier story (u can use the 1000 word limit here) then depending on the amount of people participating, pick like the top 5-7 that have good sounding stories, take the description they gave and turn into thier full blown story, then you can judge for the top three. We can call it Author Idol. good idea seph.

I think it's a great idea! 1000 words is enough for me, but I don't know if I'll compete. What are the prizes going to be?

Love it! I totally agree with the original idea, 1000 words makes sure that the judges aren't wading through absolute stacks of text, but a skilled author can still get his point across.

10000-word max on stories.
