Middling, weekend afternoon.
Aristotle once said that you could find out more about a person with an hour of play than an hour of talking. Writ's never heard of this Aristole guy, but they would have probably gotten along with one another just fine.
It was a blockwide game of capture the flag, kids made teams amongst the chaos, others joining in on whichever team they liked better, or whichever one was winning. Right now, Writ was on the red team, being chased by ten or so other people who were on the blue team. Hiding in the cafe was a cheap move, but it worked, a lot.
Writ was laughing so hard while running, he didn't know whether to breathe or just stop and laugh some more.
Best part was, more kids were going to join in, and it was going to be very tough for him to get away....

Maria darted down another alley as she tried to lose a blue player that was tailing her. Not, having luck for the past half of block in losing him, she quickly reached down and grabbed a medium sized stone. which she placed it in her jacket pocket and continued to run.
Toward the other end of the alley, she spotted a long awaited dumpster and jumped on top of it, grabbing the nearest fire escape ladder. After pulling herself up onto the first platform she quickly maneuvered her way to the top. Once on the roof she darted to the other side and threw the stone down the other fire escape, and waited to here the other player, come around the corner. When she heard him come around, she darted back across the roof and down the fire escape in which she came up.
Once back on the ground she looked around and spotted the small cafe, and thought that as a good place to take a short breather. Darting over toward it she entered the cafe' hoping to be safe for just a second.

Fish tended to avoid the neighborhood games. After all, he had more serious games to play, and the kids in Harbor rarely played Capture the Flag as it was. But today he had been around when the game started and had decided to join in.
At first, he had been tempted to join the blue team - after all, his element was the sea - but then he had realized the blue team looked a little rag tag and pathetic and had joined the red team. Which he was suddenly regretting because he was running for his life.
After skidding around a corner, Fish realized he had just enough of a lead to find a hiding spot. Eyeballing a little cafe swiftly approaching, he made the split second decision to duck inside, nearly bowling a familiar purple-haired girl over as he did.
"'Scuse me!"
He tugged the door firmly shut behind them just as the blue player rounded the corner, and he was very, very thankful for the tinted glass on the windows.

Like always, Writ ran into his parent's cafe, the door through the kitchen gave him a relatively unobstructed path to the other corner of the block, where the red base was.
Someone was going to put their foot down and say that's cheating one day...
The door opened, the door closed, and it was quickly opened again by the mob of kids wanting that blue flag. They were going to chase him inside too? He needed a new plan... Writ ran across the small coffeehouse.
Everything seemed to slow for a second as he looked to his left, seeing the two other godlings like him. He didn't know at the time, nor did Coyote bother to point it out, but when you're running from a mob ready to rip that flag out of your lifeless hands, you just focus on running.
With that, he leapt across the counter and through the kitchen doors, going into the alleyway, and to the streetcorner.
Who were they? The boy thought, running, they seemed out of place from the usual crowd.

Just a Maria was about to take a deep breath, for a quick second of relaxation. Somebody came tearing into the cafe and the next moment she was almost ran over by the mysterious someone.
Her instincts told her somebody had seen her and followed her. This caused her to look for another exit one that would not bring her through the front doors again. At the same time, she watched as another person jumped out of a window behind the counter. Just as she was about to dart again and out the window, she realized something why would a blue member be saying "excuse me," wouldn't they just tag her and bring her to the jail, like they always did.
Looking back at the person who almost ran her over she realized it was Fish. "Hey, any luck with locating the flag," she asked as she took a small breath, to calm a coughing fit that was about to take her.

Fish was about to answer when the hoard of blue players tore through and chased a kid behind the counter. Assessing the situation, he replied, "I think it went that way."
He frowned at Maria, remembering the coughing fits she had had the last time he had seen her, and wondered if the same thing was about to happen. "Are you okay?" he asked, hoping that it didn't sound patronizing. "Maybe you should sit down. It looked like that kid was headed for Red territory. We've got this round in the bag."

Oh SNAP. They were still after him? Ugh!
Writ rolled his eyes and stopped, he was out of breath, and he really didn't want to collapse on the street. Besides, his teammates were coming to help him out. So, he just took the flag, and threw it up in the air between the two clashing forces. Yelling and screaming ensued, and a bystander would've thought that a gang turf war was coming about. Writ slipped into the alleyway he came from and back into the kitchen. His curiousity got the better of him, those two other kids, they just didn't seem to mesh, they stood out in a way. That seemed more important than the flag at the moment.
So he did what any kid his age would do, he strided through the dining area, sat on a chair near the two and said, "Hi!"

"Nah. I'm fine. I run like this all the time and know how to deal with it," she said as she gave Fish a small three finger wave, with her thumb, index and middle. "Let's just get that flag."
But before she could take off again, she saw the other player she just watched jump out of the window come back inside, sit down and say "hi" to them.
"He's giving off that weird feeling just like Fish gave off when I ran into him. Is he another Godling," thought Maria as she looked the other player up and down. "He does have those pointy ears."
Your right he is another Godling, I sense it too. spoke Izanami. Stay and chat with him, try to find who he is.
"Hello," Maria replied to the other player's hi. "And may I ask who you exactly are."

"Didn't you just have the flag?" Fish asked, watching the boy take a seat. Not that he really cared. Neighborhood games were mere dalliances to him, but still. He was curious.
There seemed to be something odd about this boy. The air felt like it was crackling with divine energy, between Maria, whatshisface, and himself.
"Never mind," continued Fish before anyone could reply. "Same question. Who're you? My name's Fish."

"Tossed it." Writ said casually. People just don't say "Hi" back around here, it was natural. Well, he did just intrude on two people on a whim, he wasn't expecting anything less. Up close, they were basically screaming interesting just sitting there. So he stayed put.
"Fish?" Writ smirked at the mention of the boy's name, turning to him, "That has to be the coolest. Name. Ever."
There was a pause.
In a flash, he replied to the girl who asked first,"My name's Writ. What's yours?"

"Maria, but please just call me MJ for short," said MJ as she got that minor introduction out of the way. "So your name is Writ, nice to meet you."
Maria took a small respectful bow, and then raised her head again to look at Writ. "Intreseting ears," MJ commented and thought about what to say next, so that nothing idiotic would slip out.
Remembering what happened last time when she spoke to a fellow Godling she never met before, she took a step back and began to take a few deep breaths to calm herself even further. Just so that a coughing fit would not have a chance to occur.

"Actually," said Fish, dropping his voice, "It's Phineas, but don't tell everyone that. People have been calling me Fish since I was a little kid."
Hearing Maria's comment on the boy's ears, he leaned around for a better look. Hmm... Did human ears come like that? Maybe this was the new Godling that Miss Floros had told him to track down.
"Those are pretty cool," he commented. "Were you born with them?"
He looked back over at Maria and asked, exasperated, "Are you going to cough up a lung again, or are you okay?"

Writ's ears seem to perk up at their mention.
"Yep!" He said, "I can wiggle them too." They flicked around a little.
He turned the chair around and leaned his arms on the backrest, getting comfortable.

"Nope, I need both my lungs still," started MJ as she began to have a small coughing fit, still she thought it was getting better to handle.
"Maybe I," said MJ between a few bouts of coughing. "Spoke a bit to soon."
During the small coughing fit MJ managed to keep a smile on her face though, and laugh a bit at Writ's funny little antic of wiggling his ears. "How cute," MJ said when the small fit ended.

Fish forced himself to look away from Maria. True, she was a godling and a player like himself, and possibly Writ, but it still seemed odd that any god would select such a sickly prophet. He chose instead to focus on Writ's ears.
"Hey, those are cool!"
Definitely a Godling.
"Do you know where Seasons is?"
