"Momma, momma!"
Nzigu's obnoxiously loud cries, aimed at his mother, were enough to turn anybody from what they were doing, as the little brown cub herded his mother along, tail flicking from side to side in glee.
Oooooh.. he couldn't -wait- to show mommy what it was he'd found, and it would be so EXCITING and she'd be so PROUD OF HIM.
In the cub's mind, it was an extremely exciting prospect. It never really occurred to him that, perhaps, one of his two older siblings had already discovered every neat thing in the area there was to show Mpenzi and -not- get in trouble for wandering too far away.
Which of course, being the 'perfect' child, Nzigu -never- did!
There was a pause as the only male of the litter turned to look at his accompanying sibling.
"SSSIIIIIIIISSSS! You're so SLOOOOOOOWW!" he complained, parading about Mpenzi's legs in glee.
Mpenzi's patience was astounding. She managed to divide her attention between all of her young ones so well, it was surprising she'd never truly had to raise her voice to any of them in disapproval.
Then again, she also shed a blind eye to her eldest daughter as well.
"Now now, Nzigujasisi," it was a long name that made the boy want to cringe, but it was hard to disapprove of the name mother had given him," You need to be more patience with Nyuni. " she insisted, licking the growing mane atop the boy's head, before turning her attention to dote upon her daughter as well, nuzzling the girl's cheek.
"Are you enjoying our outing, dear?"

"I'm cooooming!"
The little red cub bounded after her brother, her energy certainly not as abundant as her brother. She was clueless as to what was going on, but she was always up for an adventure with her brother. She slowly caught up with them, skidding as it seemed like she would nearly run into her mother's leg.
"Ooof~!" She narrowly missed, but ended up kicking up a big cloud of dirt, all which landed on her to dull her vibrant coat. She huffed, shook herself, and bounced back towards her brother. "You guys just move too fast, that's all." She stuck her tongue out in a pout, and pranced to the other side of her mother's legs.

Nzigu repeated himself. "Nuh-uh! You're just SLOOOOOOOOOW!" he complained, almost latched to his mother's OTHER leg, which, if she'd been trying to do so, would have hindered her ability to walk worth anything.
He sneezed a bit at the FLYING DUST OF DEATH AND DOOOOOM (at least in his mind) which filled the air, before sticking his tongue out at the red lioness-in-training (she was too young to count as a 'female' yet in Nzigu's mind.. and probably never would..).
However, he unlatched from the female quite happily, before turning to start bounding ahead happily, snickering with his insidiously evil plot to win mother over to his cause of convincing daddy that he could be a WONDERFUL goddess of butterflies.
Too bad Nzigu didn't understand that Goddess = female.
Mpenzi smiled a bit. "I'm sorry we're walking too fast for you, love~" the lioness purred apologetically, taking care to make sure there were no little ones in possible 'underfoot' range, before resuming the following of her youngest child, as, with Nzigu's luck, his sisters were minutes older than him.
The brown lioness took special care in making sure she didn't move too fast for her daughter to follow along with her, as that would have been just -horrible- to make the little one work so hard to keep up with mommy and brother.
"So what are you going to show us, Nzigu?" the Kaimu inquired to the boy leading them, before looking to Nyuni. "Do you have any ideas, dear?" pondering if her other child had any speculation.

Nyuni sniffed, ignoring her brother's taunt. Boys were icky anyway, why worry about her stooopid brother when he was acting this way? She'd get him back, ooohh, yes she would. Though her little mind really couldn't think of anything but just teasing him and wrestling him, she was still content to keep her mind wrapping around these possibilities. And hopefully Jicho wouldn't stick with her brother, because even if all the girls, besides Shabaha, tried to take them on, it might not work....
She popped up to her mother's side, trying to keep up with her pace, something that was a bit easier, since Mama was taking care in making sure she could keep up. She gave a shout at her brother, echoing their mother. "Yeeeah, where are you taking usss?" She whined a bit, hoping it was something fun then just....notfun.

Pouting at both of the females whom were, quote-unquote, 'picking on him', Nzigu stuck his tongue out at his sister, before turning to continue his leading.
"Well....You'll see!" he said, trailing off at first, then blurting out at the end, almost admitting he wasn't sure if where he was taking them constituted as 'fun' in Nyuni's eyes.
BUT IT WASN IN HIS! That was all that mattered though, right?
Mpenzi laughed at bit, in good humor, not -AT- at, her son's outburst. "Why, I'm sure it will be, sweetheart." she called to him, even though he wasn't exactly -that- far ahead.
He was only a child and hadn't exactly adopted 'land legs' quite yet, so she humored him as it was.
"It -is-!" he insisted, looking about in a sort of 'now where did I leave that thingy with the stuff and the thingy' sort of a look, before running off to sit under a tree, looking up into it's lower branches, which were barely out of paw's reach for the cub.
"See see see?" he said, pointing and stretching out a short little leg to point at, and possibly bat at, something on one of the branches.
Mpenzi sat behind her son, looking at what was being pointed out to her and sniffing at it, before smiling.
"Ah! I know what this is!" she beamed, carefully bending the branch with a paw so the two children with her could get a better look at it.
"This will turn into a butterfly, Nyuni, Nzigu." she explained, beaming at an opportunity to teach her children something new.

Nyuni huffed as her mother caught up with her brother. What was so great that he found? She was....eh? Her ears pricked up, the pink fluff all attentive to hearing her mother's tone change a bit. Well....well....she couldn't help it, her curiosity was too much, and sorely outbeat her stubbornness.
She swirled up, her tail following her briskly, the only 'dent' in her red markings the white snip that mimicked her father's. Her brown eyes opened a bit as she peered at what her family was looking at.
"A....butterfly?" It was a bit hard for her to vision something like that turning into something as pretty as a butterfly, but Mama was always right about everything...so she must be right...right? A puzzled look stuck on her face as she peeked back up at her mother.

FUFUFU! He'd found one of his followers in HIDING, Nzigu discovered, a sort of 'I win' grin forming on his face for a moment, before spending a moment to ogle the motionless object which seemed to just.. hang from the branch.
In his opinion, now that he knew what it was, it was a bit boring.
"How does -that- turn into a butterfly?" the boy inquired, sitting on his rump while careening his head back, almost causing him to topple over, to look at his strange clarified-by-mother-discovery.
Mom sure knew everything.
The response from the two gained a bit of a smile from the lioness, whom, in the same manner she'd lowered the branch, kept her paw on it until it settled back into it's previous position without shaking the cocoon loose.
"Yes, a butterfly. It's inside of there growing it's pretty wings, and someday it'll open up and it'll fly away to it's new life and be chased down by cubs in other parts of the world."
It was a very brief explanation, and she wasn't even going to get to explaining on the caterpillar part of the entire process, as that alone had confused her own little mind as a child.
"Do you think it can hear us inside?" she pose in inquiry, looking to each of the pair in turn.

Nyuni's brown eyes still stared at the thing. But...how could something so ugly become so pretty? She eyed her brother, believing that this was just a fluke of his. No way did he just find this, sorta knowing what it was. But then again, her brother seemed a little talented in that.
She sat herself down next to her bother, daring another peek at her brother before she piped up. "So....we won't be able to play with it when it comes out?" She didn't really get why they wouldn't be able to play with it, if it was right here, right now! But...maybe it didn't like them a whole lot?

"You might be able to play with it. I don't know where it will go. Perhaps it will come and find you." she suggested, leaning down to 'hush hush whisper' to the two cubs, as if telling them a deep, dark, ultra secret that nobody but they could know. Not even daddy.
However, that was not the case at all, since she was sure that 'daddy' would find out soon enough anyways, and be mobbed with the huge story that mommy knew a lot about butterflies.
At least, she knew what her own mother had told her.
Nzigu looked at his sister as she spoke, before getting a look of horror on his face. He wouldn't be able to play with his disciple? GAAAASP.
He all but latched to Nyuni, shaking her a bit with his paws.
"But if it doesn't play with us, who will it play with?" he whined, before looking up at their mother as she answered the question about whether the butterfly would play with them or not.
"... Really? But who will it play with while it's like that and not doing anything?" he asked, looking at the strange object it currently hid in, using his sister as a sort of 'stool' to boost his height.
Leboya gently pushed him off of his sister with a paw.
"I dunno..." she looked at Nyuni. "Who do you think the butterfly plays with, sweetie?"

Nyuni was so absorbed into looking at the oddly shaped thing that she barely noticed that Nzigu shook her up a bit. Eep! Before she could even recover, her legs shook as they tried to carry the weight of her brother and herself. Growling at him as a warning, she was thankful when their mother nudged him off. He was heavy! She bit her tongue to keep a comment of him being fat, since she was sure their mother wouldn't quite accept that sort of teasing.
She huffed indignantly before giving all of her attention to her mother, most willingly. "Well! I hope that it'll stay here so..." she looked at her brother before continuing, her snobby tone dying off as she picked her sentance back up again, "so we both can play with it." Her tail swished behind her as she fell silent.

Mpenzi smiled at the answer that was given to her by her daughter. She had to admit the personas the pair were already developing were rather adorable. Especially how, although she wasn't pleased with her brother, Nyuni took care to include him in the entire ordeal.
"Maybe it will. We might have to come check on it every so often, won't we? Butterflies don't stay like this for long, so it might come out any day now~" she explained, sharing more of her elusive butterfly knowledge with her little ones.
Nzigu growled back at his sister, but let out an 'oomph' as he landed on his rear from being nudged off of his sister, pouting a bit at having lost the 'fun' of the game, but forgave his mother, since she was only doing her mommy job (which was, apparently, to ruin his fun..).
He looked at Nyuni as she spoke, tilting his head to the side a bit, before looking at their mother as well.
"You really think we'll be able to play with the butterfly that soon?" he beamed, starting to grow excited by the prospect.

Nyuni's ears perked up as her mother spoke of how they might be able to play with it soon. That seemed really soon! She wanted to know what it would look like, more then how she wanted to play with it, but hey....you never knew if you were going to be in a playful mood.
She slinked up to her brother, acting as if she didn't know that she was getting preeetty close to him. "Really, Mama?!" Her excitement mirrored her brothers as she gazed up at her mother, and back down at the little 'bubble' that it was wrapped up in. Oooh, exciting! She wriggled her butt a little in anticipation. Maybe her and her brother could check on it everyday until it popped out!

"Really. I'm sure it appreciates our company to come and check on it as well!" she beamed, moreso looking at her children, and how they were fidgeting, then Nzigu's little discovery.
Oh, they were both so adorable. It reminded her why she so loved being a mother.
He was far too oblivious to realize the female was sneaking up on him, and stared at the little blanket that the butterfly had wrapped itself in while waiting to come out.
He had to wonder if it were comfortable in there, now that he thought about it for a moment.
Because he knew that he was uncomfortable sometimes when one of his siblings found the opportunity to jab at him, probably unknowingly, in his sleep. "Why can't it come out -NOW- though?" he whined impatiently.

Nyuni stood straight up again, soon her own mind straying a bit from what they were doing. She didn't think that the butterfly would come out today. Why? Because it would of already come out to play if it wanted to! Besides, she was certain that her and her brother were being loud enough to wake it up, anywho.
She let her brother ask the questions this time around, and instead eyed his ear. That looked mighty tasty...and her little childish mind just couldn't help but go with her impulse. She motioned to chomp on his ear, a little gnaw never hurt, did it?

"Because it's still resting. Being a butterfly is tiring work, and it's preparing for how beautiful it has to be." she explained, thinking about this for a moment, before nuzzling both children.
"However, I will not accept that you're preparing to be beautiful as an excuse for either of you to sleep in all day." The lioness added, then fell silent, watching the pair, Nyuni's expression in general.
Ah yes, she had a feeling she knew that that meant.
"Awww.. But how will I become beautiful with-OW!" Nzigu protested at the 'assault' on his ear, but accepted the challenge, batting his little harmless paws at the red female to try and get her off of him. Grr grr grrrrrrrr!
"Rrr! Meanie!" he protested, though his tone had a bit of snickering to it. Ah yes, Nzigu was -so- laughing.
