What a pleasant day. The sun was, well, sunny. There was a nice breeze, and the temperature was mild. It was perfect weather for Grete to put a new mini-dress to use; today's selection was a slinky dark green number that ended just above her knees. She was content, and was making her way back to her trailer.
This task was made a little more difficult than usual, considering that she was reading a book and carrying a bag while walking. The book was an old, tattered book of poetry that Grete had just bought second-hand. There were several pages in it that were loose due to it being so old, and she was being extra-careful as to not lose them. The bag contained clothing of hers that she had washed, and were now dry. Most of her dry clothes she had already put in her trailer, but these items remained: the usual couple of dresses and then a short red nightie.
Grete had been doing a good job of reading and walking at the same time, until she ran directly into someone. She gasped, and dropped the bag, and at the same time, many of those loose pages from her book decided that they would fall out. Now, scattered across the ground were pages of the book, dresses and the nightie.
"I'm terribly sorry," Grete said, flustered as she dropped down to her knees to pick everything up. She picked up the pages of her book, and delicately tried to put them back in where they belonged, while her clothes remained strewn about the ground.

Dieter took the nice weather as an excuse to get some food for his friends. He was on his way back from a marketplace near by, holding large bags of packaged meats - Only the best cuts for his 'little' pups. He had yet another little pleasant surprise running into him. And though her things seemed to go flying all over the place, he barely even stepped back and his bags were still in hand. Regardless, he quickly dropped them to his sides, and began to pick up all remaining items.
For a moment he stopped completely when he reached the fragile little nightie. He stood up, holding it in front of him with the other dresses in the other hand and raised an eyebrow.
"Ah, nono, it's okay." It took a moment before he realized that perhaps he should stop staring at the delicate item and return it back to her. "Very nice? For very hot nights, I'm guessing?" He said, chuckling to himself.

After she had all of the pages of her book back in the right place, Grete smiled, and looked up to see who, exactly, she had run into. She brushed a strand of hair out of her face, and smiled at Dieter. When she noticed him stand up and ogle her nightie, Grete arched an eyebrow, stood up and gave him a flirtatious and confident smile.
"You would be correct," She said softly, with a hint of sensuality to her voice, "It wouldn't exactly be practical elsewhere, would it?"
Grete held out the bag for him to drop the clothing in, and she cocked her head to the side. Huh. She didn't recognize him. Regardless, she kept a smile on her face.
"I'm Grete, by the way. I don't believe we've met; I tend to remember faces."

Oh, you're good. Dieter's grin grew wider. Finally, someone playing back. "I supposen not."
He held onto the items for a little while longer until he realized that he was still eying the nightie. Quickly, he handed them back to her, fumbling as he returned each item.
"Ah! I am Dieter! Dieter Von Brandt. Grete? Very German name, ya? I didn't expect to find another German here."

"Well, I'm not German per se," Grete responded. Where she was from was geographically identical to German, as all of the places were identical in landscape to their Earth versions. It was all rather complicated, and Grete didn't feel like explaining it, "It's fine all the same," she concluded.
Once all of Grete's clothing was back in the bag, she smiled, and glanced upwards at Dieter. She closed the bag, and extended her hand gracefully for a handshake.
"Nice to meet you. You new around here? Or have you just been hiding from people?" Grete enjoyed this feistiness that she was currently exhibiting. She was nearly always feisty, but not usually on the first time she meets a person. The playful exchange between the two of them was probably fueling it, she reasoned.

His hand almost entirely enveloped hers, and he made sure to hold it firm as he shook. You can always tell a man by his handshake, they say.
"Ah, No, no. I've been spending much time with my friends. They're easier to talk to, ya?" He laughed. "I don't have to waste extra brain power on speaken ze English. Hm, ich sprechen sie duetsch?"

Grete watched her hand completely disappear in his, and she raised her eyebrows. She knew she had small hands, but she had no idea they were that small. Perhaps his hands were just overly large. Either way, she looked back up from her hand (or, rather his) to his face as she let go.
And then she was pelted with a new language. This happened to her more often the more time she spent at Cirque. By now, Grete was surprised that she wasn't used to it.
"Beg pardon?" she asked, giving him a half-smile. It was clear on her face that she had no idea whatsoever what he had said, and Grete was mildly embarrassed.

He chuckled. "Ah, I'm guessing no." He shrugged. "Wishful thinking maybe? Not many people are speaking ze German, I've noticed. I guess I'll be speaking English for a little while longer."
The tone of his voice seemed to soften from it's usual Husky tone. The implication of home sickness was quite evident, even his eyes began to sadden.

"I'm sorry," Grete said softly. She touched Dieter's arm in a reassuring manner, and she smiled at him. Home sickness was a b***h. Not being exactly sure of how long he had been there, Grete wasn't sure of just how homesick he was. The longer people stay, they tend to either feel it all of the time, or hardly ever.
"If I could speak German, than you know, I would. Be speaking it," Grete frowned, her attempts at cheering him up didn't exactly come out as intended. She never was very great at that. If she had more experience with cheering people up, then maybe...
Well. Whether or not that would help, it didn't particularly help the situation now. Grete decided that she would think of such things later, and try to help out with what was going on.
"There anything I could do to cheer you up?" Grete asked, hoping that perhaps this was the better way of helping out, and not realizing exactly how this could be construed.

"It's all good!" It was strange how quickly he could regenerate his spirit. And within a state of enthusiasm, he gave her a large pat on her shoulder. The amount of force put into it was most likely enough to knock the poor girl over.
"Perhaps I can teach you! German is fun to speak!" His eyes grew exceptionally wide with excitement, he adored sharing things with people. Especially his culture and his past.
For a brief moment, his mind flickered through possible things she could, aha, do, to cheer him up. "du tanzen für mich reizvoll! Ah, that would be good, that would be good!"

That was another thing that Grete would need to get used to. Getting nearly knocked over all of the time. She stayed rooted to the ground, and then had a reflex of coughing after being 'pat'. Once Dieter told her what she could do for him, a clueless look once again appeared on her face. Not sure what she should do, she just smiled and gave the very slightest nod.
Seeing just how excited he got over German, Grete laughed, and her smile became genuine, as opposed to just confused.
"Well, if it's as fun as you say," she smiled, and glanced downwards. There were a few blades of grass on her knees from picking up the pages of her book. She leaned over, and brushed the majority of them off.
"I like fun things," she resumed with a smile.

"es macht Spaß! der Heidenspaß!" There was a slight glitter to his eyes. Maybe if she got good at it, they could speak in German together.
"I will teach lots of German. I'll make you as fluent as me. If not better!"

Grete frowned, worried about the sudden pressure of being taught a new language. And also the fact that Dieter might be telling her to say (or saying to her) dirty, dirty things. Regardless of her feelings on the matter, she began to smile again.
"Well, that sounds like a plan. If it's not a bother, I think I'll go set my bag down first. My trailer's just right over there. Do you want to drop yours off somewhere?" she asked, standing on the balls of her feet, trying to peer into Dieter's bag. Who knows what could be in it.
Not waiting for a reply on whether or not it was okay if she went back to her trailer, Grete decided to go ahead. Her trailer was only a few yards away, she figured it shouldn't be a problem. Dieter could follow her if he wanted to, it didn't really matter. Grete walked slowly in front of him, and shortly got to her trailer, and left the door open in case Dieter decided to come in. Grete walked over to her dresser and began to put the clean clothes in one of the drawers.

Dieter had almost entirely forgotten about the packages of meats he had been holding. His attention span was bad like that when around the presence of the opposite sex.
"Oh! The foods. Eh, they can wait a little while." His wolves had already eaten that day and he was just restocking and planning on giving them treats. Treats could wait, and so could restocking. "I can help you carry, maybe?" He said, following her. Sure, he already had a whole bunch but he could still take on a few more.

"That's quite alright," Grete said, as she glanced back at Dieter. In her trailer, Grete left the door propped open, and then opened a dresser drawer. She put the small, leather-bound book on top of her dresser, and then sat down on her bed. Her trailer was, for the most part, tidy, except for around where she slept. Her bed was unmade, and clothes littered the floor. This didn't seem to phase Grete as emptied all of the contents of her laundry bag, and began to fold them slowly.
With one eyebrow arched and a smirk on her face, Grete looked at Dieter. "Seems to be awful big bags for food, eh? I suppose you get awful hungry...?" Grete trailed off slightly, and smiled as she folded up one dress, and set it down softly on her bed. She reached over for another article of clothing, and started to fold it as well.
