Faye’s eyes narrowed softly as she lay down within the patches of dead grass that lined the Pride Lands. Her body was recovering from her tango with fate and within no time at all she was feeling better, though she felt pains every now and then in her shoulder she didn’t let it get to her any, she would always feel some pain she assumed- and it came with the title and mark.
Her lean frame lay flat against the earth as she relaxed her muscles and let the sun heat her, soothing out all of her worries for today. She liked it here and she enjoyed being with Jini; he made her life carefree and something about his odd ways always made her smile. He was very different and kind to her... she couldn’t help but be thankful to have him around.
Why he stayed with her though, she didn’t really understand... but she wouldn’t question it. She was just happy that he did.
With a soft yawn she rolled onto her side and gazed up at the passing clouds, smiling sheepishly to herself.

Jini had fussed over Faye like a mother hen ever since her injury. He couldn't help it-he worried about her. But luckily she seemed to be getting better. That would ease his mind a great deal, and certainly be a relief to her. If only to stop him from being such a worry-wort. But despite the situation, Jini felt he wouldn't rather be anywhere else. He enjoyed his time with her, even when she was hurt. Maybe even epsecially because she was so-he couldn't bear the thought of leaving her alone at such a time.
He moved through the stalks of green, the grass brushing up against his legs. He stood tall over the greenlandscape now, though he was still a very lean and lanky male compared to those with bulk. And his new mane, now full, was whispy rather then think and coarse. He wasn't built to be a fighter, but that didn't bother him. He was happy as he was and hopefully that was good enough.
He saw Faye laying on her back in the distance and slowed his lope to an easy walk. When he reached her he sat at his side, offering a shy smile and the delicate lavender flowers he held carefully between his teeth. "Godo morning, Faye," he murmured sheepishly, though he couldn't hide his smile.

“Awww, morning Jini.”
Faye purred softly as she glanced over at her male counterpart. He always knew how to make her smile. Slowly she moved herself up and with a soft yawn sat herself down right beside him. Her yellow mane tuff covered her left eye as she pushed her paws out before her and stretched, trying to get her body to wake up.
“Is that for me?”
She asked with a coy smile, blinking her eyes a few times.
“It’s very lovely, Jini.”

Jini felt his heart warm at her smile and his face rush pleasently with blood. She almost made him feel light headed with looks like that. He felt his ears pull back bashfully as he dropped the flower down and moved it over to her with a gentle paw. "Yes I....um...saw it and it was so beautiful and...it reminded me of you so...I thought you might like it..." He smiled shyly, but there was a glow of happiness in his face.

“Mmm.”
Faye giggled with delight as he let the flower down and pushed it to her slowly. He was always doing the tiniest things to show he cared. It always made Faye feel bigger than life, beautiful and needed. She needed him, she did- and she liked to believe that he needed her too.
She liked to think that he cared for her like she cared for him.
But, at this point it wasn’t care... not anymore. That care had grown it had grown largely and Faye felt an odd feeling swell up within her chest every time she gazed upon his soft face, his kind smile.
She adored him, she really did. His sweet charm was just too much for her sometimes, she often didn’t know how to react to his kindness. He showed her affection every time he was with her and Faye was truly head over heels with it all.
She loved this feeling, she loved being so happy and content, she loved being with him.
Faye loved Jini...
Even though the words always seemed to get stuck within her throat she longed to say it to him, she wanted him to know just how she felt.
Why was it so hard to be open with him? He was open with her.
A soft smile passed her maw as she gazed down at the flower once more, before moving her gaze back up to his. His eyes were so welcoming, every time she looked into them she felt as if she were going to melt. This feeling was just... perfect.
“Jini..”

"I know, it's silly....but...I'm glad you like it..." He murmured quickly. Why compare her to a simple flower when she was so much more then that...? He didn't know why, but he always found himself drawn to spending every possible moment with her. It didn't matter what they were doing or what they were saying, he felt wonderful just being there with her. And no matter how much he messed up or how stupid he felt he always wanted to smile. Smile just because she was there with him and he'd rather not be anywhere else.

“Jini.”
Faye mumbled softly before moving her eyes to her paws. She gazed at them for a moment, as if looking for the answers to all of her unasked questions. She wanted to say it so bad, she wanted to...
“Jini I—“
She couldn’t! It was just too hard. Why couldn’t she just say how she felt.
“I have to go..”
She was running from it now. Slowly she moved herself up and started to limp away. Her left shoulder was still sore so limping was about all she could do right now. She didn’t want to make him upset but she was upset with herself... she couldn’t say it, for once in her life she felt loved and she couldn’t even say it.

Jini blinked as she suddenly got up, his ears falling back to disappear in his mane. Oh no-! What did he do this time? Was it something he said? H-had he offended her? He knew he should have picked a prettier flower! O-or maybe she was alergic or...so many possible mistakes swirled in his mind that he couldn't possibly tell where exactly he had screwed up. He got to his feet, hurrying after her with a lowered head. "F-faye-!" He stuttered, guild tearing at his heart. Oh, the last thing he ever wanted to do was upset her! "I-I'm sorry...I-I-I didn't mean t-too-!"

“Jini, no, no! You didn’t do anything wrong…”
She stopped in her place she gazed back at him with envy colored eyes. She needed to just say it already! It was killing her- she wanted to, she did. Her ears pinned back as a soft sigh passed her chest. She didn’t want to hurt him.
Slowly she moved herself back and stood in front of him, looking him up and down with a soft smile. Faye didn’t know how to say it... but she wanted to. A soft purr rumbled within her chest as she moved herself closer to him and nuzzled her neck along his mane. Her tail curled along her back legs as she did this and a soft whisper passed her maw as she spoke into his ear ever-so-softly.
“I love you.”

Jini felt his heart jump into his throat and he flushed under his fur. He stood still, quivering for a moment as if he moved she'd go away again or, perhaps, disappear into thin air. And this was simply a reaction to her touch. At her words he litterally jumped, his eyes round with surprise. Was he truly awake? This wasn't one of his silly dreams was it? He swallowed, feeling as if his head was spinning and his tongue was tied into knots. Finally he stuttered, his voice sounding a little high, "R-r-really?!"

“Yes...”
Her voice went dropped as she gazed at him with a rather bashful expression. She had never felt this way before- not about anyone.
“I do, Jini, I love you.”
As if you make sure he knew this she repeated it and would gladly repeat it one million times more.
“I really... do.”

Jini's shocked look slowly faded, his eyes of spring green softening before he slowly looked away, his ears remaining flat against his mane. He swallowed, barely able to hear her due to the thunder of his own heart. Warmth tingled through his blood from his head to his toes. He had been sweet on her for so long, it almost seemed to good to be true. After a moment's pause he suddenly moved forward without hesitation. He rose on his hind legs slightly and caught her in a tight embrace, one paw draped across his back, his chin resting just above her neck. His eyes shut tightly, his body quivering slightly. But it wasn't from nerves, or from fear, but rather from his whole-hearted passion. "I love you too," He mumbled into her fur, for some reason feeling close to tears.

“Jini..”
Faye spoke out his name softly as she nuzzled her face into his fur; she loved this feeling… and it was swelling within her chest like a sickness… but she never wanted this sickness to go away. She never wanted Jini to go away.. never.
“Oh Jini... do you really?”
She questioned with a muffled tone, softly purring into his fur now as she let a soft gasp pass her. He loved her too?! This was crazy… this was so crazy, Faye never knew what the word love meant, not until she found him. He changed her… for the better. He saved her, he really did.

Jini nodded his head against her fur, feeling the water lingering under his eyelids. She smelled so nice and made him feel so warm inside. "Yes...for a while...actually..." he mumbled, feeling a little bashful about it. He didn't know when he had started loving her. He wasn't sure if there was a definate beginning. But he knew he had never felt like this about anyone before. Was this what he had been missing when Mosi found her mate? When Kit had started a family with Ashki?

“Oh Jini...”
Faye spoke out with a soft gasp, nuzzling her face into his mane again. She was so overwhelmed right now; she wanted nothing more then to lay beside him forever, relaxing like they were now. She wanted to be with him always, she did.
“I am so happy you feel the same way...”
She added on softly before moving herself back so that she could gaze into his soft eyes.
“I want to be apart of your life Jini, apart of your family.”
