The Wall!! I hate people who say "I love Pink Floyd, they're so awesome, we don't need no education, bla bla bla". Idiots, Another Brick In The Wall pt. 2 SUCKS. If you think you like Pink Floyd and your favorite album is The Wall, then you are not a true Pink Floyd fan because The Wall is not the same as any other album they've made. And you all should know that I like Pink Floyd more than oxygen... I'm just sick of people who wear Dark Side Of The Moon shirts and rave about "we don't need no education". They're idiots and they should all die along with vegetarians and christian fundamentalists...

What if by saying they love Pink Floyd, they don't mean to offend you and you Pink Floyd awesome knowledge, but they're only saying that they love what they have heard? If they liked Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall, let them wear those shirts! It's just all they know, so it's all they'll talk about. It doesn't mean the albums are overrated, actually, some people I know who own all or most of the Pink Floyd records appreciate those two that you're shitting on. I understand how it can get annoying when the "newbies" obsess over the more mainstream stuff, but just calm down, and play Welcome to the Machine. [don't know what album that's on, but it always relaxes me] heart , Mollz.

He probably doesn't like it because you shouldn't say that you love a band when all you know is their most mainstream material and haven't put any effort into researching them. Generally people who have more knowledge of the band will add other information into the statements he talked about them making.

The Wall, I hate pt. 2 and Mother is boring as hell. I love Dark Side of the Moon, as cliche as that sounds... sweatdrop

The Wall probably is the most overrated. Dark Side of the Moon is right up there too though. I mean, it's good, but really... Some people act like it's the only album Pink Floyd's ever done. stare

I'd have to say DSotM is the most over-rated as you don't hear about The Wall quite as much as that one. Yes, it's great..but damn, it's not the greatest album ever. stressed

I knew as soon as I saw this thread that inside I would find a big debate on the Wall vs. Dark Side.
And I know that if I post anything remotely resembling an opinion on the matter, I'll get my a** kicked in a debate by a HS. And I'm not going there.

Yea I know what you mean because it always bothers me when people do that too, but then again, it's them being ignorant by saying they "LOVE" tha band, and no just really like what they've heard. neutral

Exactly the problem. It's annoying when people are ignorant and make no attempt to correct the problem.

Oh comeone Squall, don't ******** with this again. We all know your opinion on The Wall (at least I do). But you can't exactly say that it's the worst album when you told me yourself that Run Like Hell is great.". Besides, even if it's not like their other CDs, it's still pretty good in my opinion. Mother, The Trial, Comfortably Numb, etc are all great songs. Even better than some on their other CDs ie. DSotM. So just leave it . neutral

I know this is a Pink Floyd thread, but this is relevant: I have the same problem with Styx. People listen to Come Sail Away and think they are big fans and know everything about Styx. Sorry, I just...yeah. Sorry if it was wrong to post it here! I'll delete it if needed!

The Wall is not a bad album. If it was by any other band it might their greatest masterpiece. But compared to Pink Floyd's other works, it doesn't compare. (Though it is significantly better than "The Final Cut" or "Momentary Lapse of Reason")
The problem with the Wall is Roger Waters was starting to get way too much creative control. There was way too much emphasis on lyrics and story, and not enough on the actual music.
