It was a hot morning in the desert. The sun just gaining its full height over the mountains. Ziya loved mornings like these, bright sun and gloriously clear skies. Grinning to himself he flopped to sit cross legged on a random rock and started to munch on some bread that he had stolen from his grandmother's tent.

If the truth be told he was bored, no, beyond bored. There was no one to play with in the Caravan. Well there was his cousin, but she was so small and annoying now. Chewing a piece of bread he eyed his uncle's horse with a smirk. Riding could be fun, but where would he go?

"When you said you wanted to go out, I didn't think you meant this far, Zee."

"Iss th' beach."

"No. Not the beach. I don't even know how the hell we got here."

Really. Of all the places they'd accidentally wandered into lately, a desert took the cake. At least London had been a city. But a desert? Isaiah was certain they'd started out in the fields bordering Durem earlier that morning. This was just crazy. But Uziri seemed happy, so he supposed it wasn't so bad.

Uziri, kicking at the sand and keeping a keen eye for seagulls to feed her breakfast to - the place was coated with sand, she was CERTAIN the ocean had to be somewhere - had shed her cat-eared hoodie and rolled up the legs on her battered jeans to counter the heat. She skipped ahead of Isaiah, making clucking sounds to attract the nonexistent gulls.

Ziya looked up as he heard the voices in the distance. He blinked. People, out here? Now that was an interesting turn up for the books. Grinning he jumped down from his perch and hopped across the sand with ease towards them.
"Hi!" he said, waving a little. He wondered if they knew what they were doing all the way out here. "Do you need any help?" he asked, grinning at the thought of meeting new people.

"Huh?"

Zee's head whipped 'round to see where the voice was coming from, and her eyes widened.

"You have sand-feet," she informed the new boy solemnly.

Isaiah blinked in confusion. This was getting odder by the second.

"Um...hi. We're just kinda, uh, here, so..." he said awkwardly.

Ziya smiled at the young girl and looked down at his feet as she pointed them out.
"yeah, i suppose I do." He said, turning his eyes back up to her. "Makes it easier to walk out here." He winked and turned to smile at her guardian. looking around at the arrid landscape.
"Um, my family live just over there." he said, pointing to the tents and the smoke from camp fires not too far away from them. "Would you like to come and have tea?" He asked with a cheeky smile. "My name's Ziya by the way."

"Neat," Zee said, staring at the boy's feet enviously. Why couldn't she have sand-feet? Hmph. Eyes flicking towards where he pointed, her eyebrows shot up. He got to live in a tent, too? Jeez, this boy was too awesome for life.

Realizing the kid was talking to him, Iz nodded politely. Hell, why not?

"Yeah, sure," he said. "I'm Isaiah."

"He lives in a tent."

"That's Uziri. Say hi, Zee."

"Hi, Zee."

Ziya laughed at Zee's observations and grinned as he led the way to the camp.
"Don't you live in a tent?" he asked, looking from the girl to her guardian. "You can see inside mine. It's really cool. Ohh! and my mum can make us some tea! her tea is the best!"

He smiled proudly as they stepped past the various camels and goats. and into the centre of the circle of large, colourful tents. None of his friends had seen his home yet, so he was quite excited to show it off.
"That's my tent there!" He said, pointing to one opposite them.

Following after Ziya in a state of awe, Uziri turned to look at Isaiah.

"Da, can we live in tents?"

"Maybe when you're older."

Isaiah was looking around the camp in something bordering Uziri's own awe. They'd stumbled across something very....unexpected. To say the least.
