((Pardon the crappy beginning post. >< Ex kept distracting me by blabbering and expecting me to respond. ))
The little pup nervously paced her way through the underbrush. The scent of the sea, so prevelent at her new den, was much harder to identify along the pack borders. The woods draped around Xieros, sunlight splattering through the naked limbs of surrounding trees. Buds were slowly appearing, which was a sure sign spring was on its way.
Despite the sunshine, the black and white pup walked carefully. Everything was still very brand new, and part of Xieros was still very afraid of the new pack she'd met. The little girl wanted very much to trust them - Lindir was her savior, and Toby too. . . in a way. He had helped find her, and though he was a brute, Xieros knew where to give credit when credit was do.
Thayne though - Thayne was a monster. So huge, and yet . . despite his size, he had yet to eat her or rip her to pieces. In fact, the more the little pup thought about it, the more she realized that nothing bad had happened to her. They hadn't ripped her to pieces, they hadn't threatened her or mauled her or caused pain - in fact. . . they'd been nothing but kind.
It was amazing to the little one. She didn't trust them COMPLETELY yet (everything was still brand new) but the little one wasn't quite as sure she wanted to run away.
So lost in thought, the black and white puppy hardly noticed she'd left the protection of the South Seaside packlands and was wandering further and further in to neutral territory. Daydreaming, imagining, the little pup continued lightly on her way.
Despite her deep thought, she still worried about Adenru.
. . . . he could be out there, waiting for her.
Maybe it was time she went back to Thayne and Lindir. . . Maybe it was time to turn around.

From a distance away Mistyk had been wandering to himself alone yet again. He was getting tired of the never ending tragedy of his life. With a shake of his head he swore if he ever did find a pack he'd never leave it if not for the fact that he never wanted to be alone again. Although someplace in the back of his mind he sort of liked being alone. He was used to it at this point and the shock alone being a subordinate, he felt would kill him.
It was with this debate going on in his mind that his heightened sences seamed to pick up on a small beast. Could be food- But as he approched closer he saw it was yet again another lost pup. And from the sight she looked as if she was having the same issues that the deaf purple wolf was having with subordinate issues. What was it with him attracting these lower class. Although her markings did make him smirk. If only she wasn't so young...
With that trotted right up to her with a great big, "Hello, and how are you doing on this fine day?" Yet again he rather missed the social ques that the more socialized wolves had had.

A daydreamer with a wild imagination, Xieros was still very young and very stupid. With age and time she'd learn the trick of multi-tasking; keeping alert while her thoughts danced and wandered. As it was, though, the very young puppy didn't see Mistyk until it was far too late to run away.
"Hello - " Anything else he said was almost lost on the pup. Pale eyes going wide, she litterally sprang up in the air, hackles raised, ears back, little puppy teeth bared, and her tail playing a dance between going up and down. Did she submit. . ? Did she defend herself? Did she run?
It was too confusing.
His markings were too cool to make him one of Adenru's. The large wolf was a plethora of reds, oranges, and yellows - any of his lackeys tended to be just as beautifully coloured, so she knew he was not one of them . . .
but he could still be hired help.
Oh bother.
Staring at him - it was incredibly clear he'd surprised her - the black and white wolf kept the little thrum in the back of her throat. It was instinctive for the female - strangers were NOT to be trusted until they proved themselves in her eyes. " . . . hello. . . " Xieros quietly spoke, retreating a step. Of course, her little hind paw tripped over a small dip in the ground, and she found herself flat on her butt.
Sitting before him, he eyed the blue and teal wolf with complete caution. Slowly, slowly, fear gave way to the rest of his question - he'd asked how she'd been? What sort of question was - that - ? ? Who just asked someone how they were?
Remembering pride, the little female puffed out her chest and tried to late to shove aside her initial fear. Shaking out her black and white coat, she gave a little smirk and thumped her tail once on the ground. "I'm doing quite fine, thankyouverymuch," deep in her heart a sarcasm built. It was her only defense, but she dared not use it . . . yet. "Just out on a trot away from my pack," Words she'd never once uttered slipped through her tongue.
Her pack? Well, it was only temporary, of course, but . . . buti t was another defense to her advantage. Maybe she didn't have to be so afraid now that she had the pack-card to pull. Some wolves didn't dare mess with a packwolf~! She really was protected! (But heaven bless her heart, she was too innocent to realize that she'd left packgrounds AND it wasn't as if they could instantly get to her aid if called for. All in the details.)
Was that a sliver of genuine confidence? Perhaps there was hope yet for the shy little black and white thing.

The forest colored wolf just looked at her for a few second before parting his lips to speak. "Well it's nice that your doing well." The smile seamed to fade though as she seamed to talk about a pack. Oh what it must be like to have a family you actully belonged in. Or course if they were total bastards it might change his mind about 'packlife' so to speak; but it was the concept that made him feel somewhat more accepted then just wandering around without a purpose.
"You know your kind of young to be wandering away from them..." He paused trying to remember the closest pack that was around, the only one he figured was a few miles back.
"So anyways just bored with them or deciding on making your own pack?" He said with a playful dart in his eye wishing he could kidnap the pup for his own purposes. He still didn't gather this was an unacceptable concept in the wolf world, and yet was done on a semi frequent basis.

Something about Mistyk didn't frighten the black and white female. She by no means trusted him, but he was young and talkative - there was no malice in his voice, no threatening body language or domination. In fact, the brown and teal patterned wolf was giving her no clues to the way he functioned - he wasn't sugar-sweet like Lindir, nor was he large and intimidating like Thayne and Toby.
He was . . . . just . . .a wolf.
Strange how her fears and phobias were already starting to melt away. Though she didn't dare trust Mistyk's intentions, with the reassurance that help was but a howl away, Xieros felt she needn't be dominated by terror. Would he eat her . . .?
Perhaps if she weren't careful. But to eat her, he had to get close to her, and touch her. So long as that didn't happen, all was well with Xieros.
The little thrummy-growl was quick to die away, though her pale eyes watched him ever so cautiously. Still set down before him, her white ears pricked as he continued to speak.
Her? Far away? . . . whatever. Licking her black nose, the small one just stared at him, not allowing her inner most thoughts to be unlocked. She wasn't that far away - he was the one trespassing through the lands anyway wasn't he? And even if she was super far away, it wasn't as if Lindir or Thayne or Toby were going to miss her. She took care of herself long before running in to the black and white furred family. "S'not like I'm staying long - I can take care of myself, ya know," she told Mistyk, giving him a slight scowl for questioning her age and ability.
She had no ties to the family, except to get a little stronger. She could be free whenever she felt like it . . . . but the shadows, the nightmares, the terrors that haunted her made for a good excuse to stay. Thus far the family had been nothing but kind. . .
. . . but deep down, Xieros knew that could very easily change.
Nothing was a guarentee - therefor, there was no use getting ones hopes up.
Her striped tail flicked ever so lightly as, for the first time ever, she was told that she could make her own pack. What. That was possible. . .? When did this happen. . .? Who had neglected to tell her that she could be her own leader . . . run things her own way. Xieros' expression stayed bland as the wheels of her mind began to work. The only catch was one needed to have friends and lackeys to fight for land and protect the territory.
Thus far, Xieros had no friends. Certainly Lindir and Toby were a few steps closer than, say, Mistyk . . . but took patience and persistance to truly be accepted by Xieros. Friendships with her would be difficult to make.
". . .I can come and go when I please. . . I have no attachments to them." In her head, she wasn't going to stay. . . though maybe, just maybe, part of her didn't want to leave. "Maybe I will go and make my own," she lied, shaking out her fur and eyeing Mistyk dubiously.
"Why - looking to join?" A bit of sarcasm laced her whispered words, hinting that there was more strength to Xieros than met the eye. Her defenses began to build as soon as she judged a wolf as a minimal-threat. She wasn't afraid of being devoured by him. . . at least not really . . . . but if her terror didn't cause her to bolt, her cool sarcasm and mistrust might discourage any from getting to close.

The forest wolf stood there with a relaxed pose just looking at the pup. He really did want to kidnap her for some odd reason. Even if she did have a pack backing he could always silence her- at least until her small howl didn't echo threw the trees to the pack she seamed to heavly relying on. Of course something in him told him that probally wouldn't end up so well. Even if he did take her- he'd have to confine her because she didn't seam the type to stay captive even if he put some semblence of a threat into it.
"Actully I'd be the one making the pack- not you."
His eyes seamed to look into her own and figured that he wanted to make a friend out of her. So instead pushed away his deep desire to grab her by the scruff and run off with her.
"And you know there is nothing wrong with being on your own as a pup..."
He was mainly implying about his own life and how he survived almost since birth by commanding the foxes and stealing from the crows. It wasn't the best life, but he felt stronger by the whole experience. Although living with the fact that he was abandoned as a pup probally made him abit more predisposed to choose this life style then if anything else had been offered to him.
"I think it makes you stronger. Anyways back to that pack thing...Know any minions? Or would you be my first?"
It was as if some kind of evil glint darted between his pupils and his retnia in both eyes. He really could get into this idea of being 'king' over other wolves. Heh it was better then being alone. He thought to himself rather pathetically. Of course with his lack of socialization he again missed the que that slaves were entirely different then friends.

"Actually I'd be the one making the pack - not you."
What. . .?
Xieros stared up at the male before giving a snort. Had he just said what she thought he did? He'd be making a pack . . .? Yeah, sure, whatever. Shaking out her fur, the female sat up and glowered at the older one. Who did he think he was, suddenly taking control like that? Hadn't he asked if she were out starting her own, and hadn't she responded that yes, yes she was and then ask if he'd want to join?
First and foremost, had he missed the sarcasm that laced her voice? And secondly - he had said no such thing about starting a pack - SHE had decided to do as much. So where did he get the idea that this was his pack?
Very quickly, any interest and curiousity within the brown and teal wolf began to fade. He was too pushy, too demanding, and already was claiming her idea as his own. The little striped female didn't appreciate that, especially after her life with Adenru and his lackeys.
Blah, blah, blah, blah - whatever was he blathering on about? Strength? Xieros knew she was a strong wolf, it wasn't as if she had to learn how to be strong. Lindir had told her she was, just as Xieros had understood it, and so there was no need for her to be on her own to prove such ability.
"Minion? Look, go ahead and start your own pack, but I never said a thing about joining you." And that was that. Her pale eyes looked up at him, mistrusting. Any fear and fright she'd felt earlier was quickly being washed away by sarcasm and a newfound fire.
She had Lindir and Toby and Thayne . . . though she didn't need them, the little one was fast learning that having such an intricate network made her untouchable. Though Adenru terrirfied her, and most adults as well, this adolescent was similar of size and shape as Lindir and Toby - and they were nothing compared to the black male Thayne.
Stubborness and sarcasm set up against Mistyk, Xieros turned her back and began her trot the way she came. "Go find your own minions then and start your own pack - you're not going to take mine." Chest puffed out with pride, the sharp tongued puppy hid her uncertainty and fear well.
It was obvious this wolf had absolutely no ties with Adenru, or the evils of seer's and shamens. He was all talk (just like herself) . . . and therefor, in her mind, harmless. Just another wolf, another stranger, a nobody. If all he was going to do was take what was hers, then no, there was no reason for Xieros to stay.

Mistyk sighed as she began to walk off, he was only having a spot of fun with her. She seamed to take things to heart about as much as he did almost as if she was some sort of clone. Kinda creapy but also somewhat enjoyable to one who'd never met a normal wolf before.
"What about sharing the minions with me then?" He blurted out hoping to make her stay. It was almost as if he was hoping to bate her enough to have her give him time of day. He did mean it however. If she wanted a pack and minions he'd get it for her on a silver platter- bleh what the hell was he thinking? Mistyk fended for Mistyk; and the minions would be Mistyks! But then again he did kind of find her attractive...damn his homones.
The forest wolf tried to ignore them as much as he could, but he seamed to only be converting his feelings into boundless energy. Comming up from behind sprang infront of her making it impossible for her to find a way around. It wasn't as if he was threatening her, oh no not Mistyk but it was more the fustration of her ignoreing him. Prehaps and he couldn't quite fathom this....maybe she just didn't understand his behavior because she was too young.
"Sooo- do you want minions?" The smirk seamed to spread over his face losing any hint of sarcasim it once had. In all honestly his face had become more serious then it ever had in his life.

Xieros truly did have every intention of returning back to Thayne and Lindir. The anxiety was twisting her stomach into knots, and his pushy attitude didn't help ease her nerves. Right now, she wanted nothing more than to return to the safety of Thayne and the wolves of South Seaside. . . but this wolf wasn't making that easy.
She'd taken but three steps when quite suddenly he had sprung in front of her. Jumping a good foot in the air, she quickly scurried backwards, opening the space between them. Starteled, her ears had dropped back against her head, and she almost cowered to the ground.
Yes, he'd scared her . . . But it was because she didn't know him, didn't trust him, and couldn't understand his intentions. The stories Adenru had told her had skewed the little ones mindset and judgement. Though she didn't fear the teal smeared wolf was going to eat her . . .
. . . he surely wasn't as sweet and gentle as Thayne and Toby.
"Sh-sharing. . .?" She asked cautiously, black and white ears pricking as soon as she realized he wasn't going to bite. No no, Xieros didn't dare get too close to him - he hadn't earned that right yet.
Minions, huh. . .? Did she want minions? What was the correct answer? What would she do with them even if she had them. . . ? Xieros knew what packmembers were, and lackeys . . . minions were just another term for one in the same, right?
Oh dear . . . what had she gotten herself in to? Mistyk seemed so very serious about everything - did he really expect her to get minions? "I want . . . I want . . . " What did she want?
A pack of her own?
. . . .no.
Not yet. Right now, all she wanted was the black furred family who'd been nothing but kind. "I'll get minions someday," she softly responded, though her pale, mistrusting eyes never left Mistyk. "But I think I'd prefer allies and friends instead."
That she said with confidence, despite her soft-spoken words. Minions were one things, but friends were something else entirely. To be a minion . . . Adenru had used the term minions, hadn't he? The difference was little and yet Xieros was too young to understand the definition of stigmas.

The last comment that the black furred female seamed to stall him ever so slightly in his comebacks in 'winning' Xieros. He didn't quite fathom that there was no compition and Xieros was not a prize to be won. With his hormones still raging his mind began to wander yet again, You could always kidnap her. But again he shook the thought out of his mind. How could he be a 'friend' if he was only going to bond her into a life of slavery? Eh maybe minions weren't such a great idea; but god if she wanted them he's turn every wolf in the land into her own personal slave! God Mistyk...Shut up- you disgust me with your lack of manors. *piff* She dosn't like you because she's too young...
"...and apparently smarter too." He seamed to mumble out as he returned the gaze that she was giving him.
As he realized he had said that outloud he just blushed then shut his mouth as if a bear trap had muzzled him. Again he seamed to freeze and watch her from the stance he still had infront of her.
"Anyways the offer still stands if you want minions...but for now I'd like to be your friend."
He rather choked out the words wondering yet again what happened to his street smart demenor. He went from being so tough to being quite a pitiful wimp...and to a puppy none the less. What the hell was wrong with him? Mistyk, get a grip on yourself. You should be debating eatting her; not keeping her as your own personal toy. His body shook slightly from the changes in his mind. Come on eat her; you know you want to. It was then that an evil sort of smirk painted over the adolecents face but it was quickly washed away when he relized just how much his hormones were controlling him.

Xieros, thankfully, was oblivious to Mistyk's train of thought. She was too young to understand the blurred grey lines that made up relationships - right now she understood friend, enemy, and family. Thus far, the black and white striped had no friends, had a handful of enemies, and a potential new family in the works.
Lindir was a friend, a family, along with Toby and Thayne. But now this forest wolf . . .this . . .stranger . . . he wanted to be her friend? First he took her pack idea, then her minions, then offered to SHARE their minions, and now he wanted to be a friend? Perhaps it was her inexperience and shyness, perhaps it was the nightmares that haunted her, and her secret fragility that rested beneath her defenses. Whatever the case, the dark furred female just didn't know what to do. . .
So, he wanted to be her friend. Well, that was as good a start as any, wasn't it? Her pale orbs were still washed with wary mistrust. Mistyk had a long way to go before the black and white female put any ounce of faith or trust in him.
But that was just the way things went with the girl.
"Friends first, minions later," she whispered, giving a little nod of her head in agreement.
Yes, that sounded good . . . right? Oh dear - she'd have to speak to Lindir and Thayne and Toby about this later! Maybe she wouldn't stray so far from the packlands, from those who were gentle and kind with her. If Adenru and his lackeys were out there, somewhere . . . and now there was this strange Mistyk . . . what else could be waiting within the shadows?
Part of Xieros wasn't sure she wanted to find out.
Her imagination was already running wild - had she just agreed to form a pack with Mistyk? Was she now stuck forever within the company of the strange one? Was there no way out. . .? Had she signed her life away by agreeing that they'd be friends first nad find minions later?
Oh no.
Did she have to leave Lindir and Thayne now. . .? All because her silly pride got in the way!? Too young to understand the workings of a pack, deep in her gut Xieros regretted ever getting up and trotting away from the den. Now she had a strange male offering to get her minions and share a pack with her. . . !
Whatever was the girl to do? This hadn't been what she wanted - not at all.
Dumbstruck at what to do next, the puppy licked her nose and tried very hard not to show her nervous anxiety. Pawing boredly at the ground, it occured to her that she knew not his name. . . . "Whats your name?" It wasn't a command, it was an inquiery, and one that Xieros wasn't sure if she had the right to ask.
The inner workings of friendships, socialization and packs were far too complicated for the girl. Her imagination was already burying her alive with thoughts of a future that she was certain had to be. . . All because of her silly pride and inability to reign in her sarcasm.
Childhood innocence at its most apparant.

Mistyk almost doubled over with joy on the inside as she seamed to accept his invite to be his friend; that and she seamed to hint that she herself wanted minions. Maybe she was old enough to understand the hormones raging threw his body? Whatever the case was the forest colored wolf seamed to stammer a few paces closer to her; almost as if he was in a drunken glory.
"Just tell me when you want to go further and have minions...I was thinking about three or four."
But he now wasn't implying a pack and was talking about children. Whoa there Mistyk- cool the jets slightly. He blinked for a few seconds and stopped moving as if a bucket of cold water had been dropped over him. Maybe it was just a bit to much for even him to be thinking about a litter of his own.
"Anyway back to your other question- I'm Mistyk."
He semi-bowed at her regaining his manorizms to a certain extent. Prehaps it might have been the relization that he had his first friend; or prehaps it was his own childhood innocene that seamed to calm him. But it seamed the adolences was finaly reaching a point that his energy seamed to be waning. Or at least so it seamed outwardly. Inwardly Mistyk was raging and having quite a dispute over what to do with the pup that he was growing so fondly attached to.

If Mistyk was excited about getting to have Xieros as a friend, sadly, the black and white puppy didn't exactly feel the same. If this was how friends were made, part of the wolf pup didn't put it high on her list of priorities.
Mistyk was still a stranger, one she didn't know whether or not she could trust. Was he that desperate for friends. . .? Didnt he have others? How was he going to go about finding minions if he didn't know anyone?
Things just weren't adding up for the black and white pup, and it only caused her to heighten her defenses. When the forest adolescent stammered closer, Xieros naturally retreated to keep a space between them.
Oh no . . he wouldn't get close enough to touch her. If had a change of heart and wanted to bite and maim her, or eat her . . . he'd have to catch her first. The distance betwen them served as a security wall, and the female refused to let the unknowns breech it.
"I'll uh. . . I'll just let you know," she agreed, realizing that there was a loophole, a safety check in saying as much. They wouldn't have to have minions and start a pack until SHE said so! And if she never told him that it was ok . . . .well. . . then that meant she was off the hook!
Still standing guard, pale eyes never leaving Mistyk, the little one was sure to remember his name. "I'm Xieros."
And that, as far as she as concerned, was that. Maybe it was time for her to go home now. . .? What if Lindir and Toby and Thayne thought she had run away? Well, so she had but it wasn't permanent! Not today.
Maybe someday, her stubborn pride whispered, but right now . . right now she just wanted to get back to the safety of their den.

"Well thats great then!" He beamed outwardly at the pup as she yet again seamed to accept his offer. If was as if his ego got a double shot of expresso and nobody could bring him down. It's still not like he understood that she really didn't have any intrest in him. It was also apparent that he didn't understand that was wasn't accepting to be his mate just because she too said she wanted minions.
"As I said- moment you give the word...I get minions for you..."
True Mistyk didn't seam like much of the hunter- or the type that could get a pack together; but it was a misunderestimation if they truely thought that. With Mistyk being on his own for so long he'd had become quite intune with his sences, not to mention quite a bully amoung the foxes. If she wanted a pack he'd just change the air about him and get her one.
Sadly though he was becoming something like his father with the fact he was just going to completly hand over the pack to his 'mate-persay'. It was as if the men really had no desire to rule anything and let there mates deside their lives for them. The only thing that really seperated the two was that despite Mistyk being a loner for his life...he wasn't clinicly insane. He didn't actully 'think' he was a fox or a squirrel for that matter. He was just lonely, and that small error could probally be cured by a few friends or prehaps even joining Xieros pack for a small while.
Either way he wanted nothing more then to be with his new friend- even if he did feel like quite some burden to her.

Xieros stayed quiet as this new "friend" agreed with her command. Part of the little one was relieved; she was smart enough to get herself out of this strange situation with the forest coloured wolf. She was still afraid that by agreeing to have minions with him and lying about forming her own pack that she was stuck with him forever. . . .but . . . maybe Thayne and Lindir could give her a little helping hand.
The black beta of South Seaside was much larger than the brown wolf before her. One call and maybe . . . maybe he'd come to her rescue. She didn't dare go back to her packlands with Mystik in tow. He was older than she, and Xieros was intelligent enough to understand her place.
She had no rank, she was but an outsider whom they fed and cared for and were loathe to eat.
Just because the family took a bit of pity on her didn't meant she was accepted as a South Seaside member nor did it mean she had any right to bring Mistyk in. Just her luck, really - out of one situation and in to another! The black and white pup had yet to trust this male - though he had yet to eat her for dinner, there was no telling what he might do.
She couldn't run away lest her follow. She had no real good reason TO call Thayne and Toby and Lindir to her aid. All Xieros could do was sit and stare at him, the cogs of her mistrustful puppy mind staring miserably up at him.
What did friends do. . . .? Xieros wasn't the playful type, at least when it came to games with others. There was too much physical contact, too much vulnerability. Games were out of the question, and the little one didn't know what on earth to talk about.
So she sat there and stared, looking a little uncomfortable and a little out of sorts. "Now what?" She finally asked, a little sneer lacing her whispered words.
This was all Mistyk's idea, wasn't it? Taking her pack, offering her minions, becoming her friend - if that was the case, then he should know what to do.
Right?
Xieros had never had any friends before.
