The dark brown, light brown to some, lioness lay wallowing in the shallow waters of one of the pride’s many small watering holes. She was covered almost completely to her shoulders in water as she sunned her face, her body resting in the sands and her face on the shore line. She hummed softly to herself thinking of the time she told Nelu she was pregnant with Kipanya and Kubwa…weren’t those the days! Her worrying had not been so bad in the past, but her sons were nearly adults, alright they were adults. And she was terrified for them, had she taught them right? Would they be respectable upstanding citizens? She couldn’t tell, mainly because her son Kubwa was always gone and she was not sure where he had disappeared to this time.
“I miss my family...” she sighed heavily and switched her tail back and forth extremely agitated by the world around her. Mvumo, her mate, would not be able to curb the wrath of Aadil… she wanted to, and needed to know where her son was…and NOW!

A bright yellow lion wandered through the Pridelands, looking about as good as he felt. His mother was gone, and now it was just him and his father living in their den, and it felt about as lonely as it possibly could. It'd been a little while since she left, but time didn't seem to be helping so much. He guessed the fact his sleep had been so uneasy lately was a lot to do with it, though- he kept having rather intense dreams and had no idea if his mind was going nuts or if any of them were visions. It was all very confusing. Today, he'd gotten bored of sulking and decided to go for a walk- and when he realized how long it'd been since he's seen any of his friends, he decided to try going to find Kubwa.
Wahabu walked slowly, calmly- walking very near where the brown lioness was. He had no idea who the lioness was, or that she was wondering about the exact same lion he was.. and he really had no intention of initiating conversation with her himself..

"Hello little one," she smirked and stopped the thrashing of her tale, "How are you this fine day?" she liked the colors that the yellow dear had, they were beautiful and his patterns made a large happy smile spread across her face, "Might I add quickly that you are extremely handsome, I wish my boys were such bright colors, unforunatly one is a blinding white and the other a dark earthy brown." Alright, it wasn't quickly, but she wanted him to know that he was a very handsome young man.

Wahabu was a bit surprised to hear a voice call out to him, though he knew he shouldn't be. Most lions around here were really friendly, why should he be surprised. He was about to answer her question about how he was, not looking too pleased- but was cut off by wonderful compliments, and a description of two cons.
"I- wha-" he stammered, then took a moment to collect his thoughts, "Hello. Um- thank you.."
Then it hit him that he knew someone who was blinding white, someone that he knew had a family around here that included one brother. Maybe- just maybe- she meant Kubwa. He tilted his head, maybe he wouldn't have to try too hard to find him?
"Kubwa?" he dared to ask, though quietly. If she didn't catch it, then he could claim to have said nothing..

Her smile widdened still as she took his stammering that he was flustered with her compliment but at the mention of her youngest son's name the smile disappeared instantly.
"Yes, little Kubwa..all grown up.." she "mmm"ed softly for a moment, "You know my son? Do you also know Kipanya? They've both got companions through the pride I'd imagine." She nodded, the boy was polite, at least Kubwa was around others that might rub off on him. She would wait for him to reveal some information about his where abouts before asking any more questions. Surely a friend would know where he is.-- She should, after all she was his mother-- but she was uncertain where he was.

He was right? This must be his mother, the one that was almost as goddess-like as his own mother was. The memory of his conversation with Kubwa when they were younger drew a painful frown from him. Their mothers were one of the first things they talked about, and now his was gone..
"You're his mother," he stated in a murmury voice, and then shook his head, "I never met Kipanya, but Kubwa mentioned him, I think.. DoyouknowwhereKubwais?"
His last question came out rather rushed. Wahabu needed his friend, needed to talk to someone, do something other than sulk and dream.

Aadil sighed in disappointment as the handsome yellow fellow shook his head about knowing Kip, but he did know Kubwa, and she physically shook sending ripples through the water as Wahabu slid the question in hurriedly.
"No..I havn't seen him either, I meant to ask you. He isn't around much...never really was around. I think I will need to go searching for him soon if he does not return. I am worried for my little lion." she nodded quickly and looked back up at Habu with intent in her bright blue eyes, she couldn't tell but she was sure that this young one wasn't lieing.
"If you see him, tell him that what ever he has done, he is not in any trouble."

Wahabu was about as disppointed as Aadil to hear that she did not know where Kubwa is, their relationships were different but it seemed both of them were looking for him. What on earth could have happened to keep Kubwa away from his mother? Right now, Wahabu would have given anything to be with his mother.
"You don't know where he is?" he asked, sounding somewhat confused and somewhat surprised, "B-but he was always talking about you, why would he not be around?"

Her ears perked, she was pretty sure her son had run because of something she had either said, but she really hadn't spoken to him in some time. But he spoke about her? To his friends? That was something that made her heart ache to see her little boy.
"No, I thought he might have been ignoring coming home, but it has been such a long time, do you think he could be hurt?" she shook her head and stood up for a moment out of the water, mud and plants clinging to her fur. She trotted up next to him and sat down. She'd moved because of the awkwardnes of being in the water and talking to someone on the land, the angle she had to look up at was skewed.

He could almost see the surprise in her eyes when he told her that Kubwa talked about her. It'd been one of their first conversation topics, and ironically what they said turned out to be all-too true about Wahabu's own mother. He couldn't help but frown a little at the idea as she emerged from the water.
"I don't think he'd be hurt, this is a big place with lots of lions, someone would have noticed," he answered, looking at the ground, "I haven't really seen him in awhile, that's part of why I came looking.."

"How did you know my son?" she shifted over the topic of him being hurt, she may have mentioned it but the idea he had fallen from a tree was too strong in her stomach and she feared that she might start crying. Meeting a new lion is supposed to be uplifting, seeing the progression of the pride through the eyes of someone younger, "I assume you were close friends?"

"I met him when we were little, we had a race climbing up some trees and I think he let me win," he answered, smiling a little. It was good for Wahabu to focus on some happy memories, especially those not involving his mother, "I can't prove it though. He's my best friend that's not--"
Wahabu caught himself before he said 'a god,' for something his mother had asked him to do was not reveal her to the Pride out of respect for their beliefs. If Kubwa believed in gods, though, surely his mother did.
"That lives around here, anyway," he finished with a shrug.

Aadil blinked as Wahabu caught himself before saying something, she did not always listen too much, but it was an odd enough moment where Habu skipped a beat that caused Aadil to give him an odd inqusitive look. What are you hiding? she wondered inwardly.
"Ahh, my son always loved being high in the sky," she smirked, "I bet you won, you were both just cubs, do you still climb trees?" She let her mood change to a more uplifted one and actually laughed allowed; it would be like seeing a giant yellow furry bird clinging to a tree.

"I was never that good at it, I'm sure he should have won," Wahabu said matter-of-factly, nodding a bit, "But I don't climb anymore, it's always hurt my paws. I don't know how Kubwa does it."
With a slight shiver, Wahabu took a seat. It was much more comfortable not to stand, especially if you found yourself in a conversation. He wasn't sure if they should keep talking about Kubwa or not, he was a common interest between the two of them but neither knew where he was at the moment even though that's what both wanted to know.
"What were you doing out here?" he asked, making a small effort in the direction of a subject change.

"Cooling off of course, my Kubwa may like the sky, but I love the water," she smiled.
"His father loves storms..and my Kipanya..I'm not very close with but he is my son and I will protect him with all my heart and soul," Kipanya was much closer to Mvumo it seemed, he spent more time with him that he did with her..she was sure that at some point she had time to change that, but it seems they grow so quickly.
"What're you wandering for?" her maternal instincts kicked in, surely a young lad should not be allowed to wander, hopefully his mother knew where he was!
