Depends on your guitar mate; what are you working with for an instrument?

In any case, I can tell you you're looking at a serious body modification. Floyds are neither easy to install or set up. As for the pickups, if you're going from singles to humbucking, it's a body modification. If you're going from passive humbuckers to active (zw pickups) then you'll need to put some kind of mounting bracket or rout a cavity out for a 9V battery to sit in. It'll take a long time to get this set up, and it most certainly won't be easy if it's a do it yourself project.

youd have to route the guitar for the floyd...and unless you know what your doing your gonna have to do touch up work in the area thats getting routed. the battery probably will fit in the control cavity...thats where mine is biggrin

yea, take off the pick guard...youll have to do that evrytime the battery dies, but if you follow the directions and take the cable out when your done playing the battery will last over a year

That was my very first guitar, I got it when I was 10 or 11, about six years ago. Now I have an Ibanez.

Many output jacks have a built in switch, and its likely that the battery would automatically be engaged as soon as the cable was inserted. Unless you have a seperate switch for the pickups.

exactly. the jack acts as a switch and turns the pickups on an off. by leaving the jack in your wasting battery life
