Bini yawned and stretched, nose twitching as she started to wake in Uzu's den. She'd slept quite a while and now her body was well rested. Oddly she had felt increasingly tired the past couple of days. And something else she didn't like? She was getting fat. Not huge... but still she was putting on weight and she could feel it and she did not like it one bit.
She stretched out her legs and stood, shaking off before moving slowly out the den. She didn't smell Uzu in the den so he must have been around somewhere. What if Uzu didn't want to be her boyfriend anymore because she was getting fat? She whined slightly and her ears flicked back as she began to walk through the grass. She was headed for the nearest source of water, thirsty and slightly hungry. Maybe she would just ask Uzu how he felt about her weight problem!

He stood very, very still. As still as still could be. He hardly breathed, didn't blink, didn't twitch an ear.
For on the end of his nose perched the most beautiful butterfly he had ever seen. It's wings were like miniature fields of flowers and at this range he could see the tiny hairs along it's body and antennae.
"Pretty..." He breathed, watching as the butterflies' wings flapped slightly in the breeze. Must show Bini He thought to himself, turning ver, very slowly around, being careful not to bob his head as he did so.
Luck had it that he was standing close to the water and he was quite easy to see, standing out in the open like that.

Bini yawned and began to pant as she got closer to the water, then frowned for a minute. Can't even walk this far with out feeling tired... this sucks... Suddenly she spotted Uzu and almost shouted a delightful hello to him, until she spotted the beautiful creature on his nose!
"Oooh where did Uzu find that?" She breathed out softly, tail swishing back and forth as she came closer to the male dog.

His tail wagged furiously and as he saw Bini he bounced a little on his paws, trying to hold back his excitement. It seemed he hadn't noticed anything different about Bini, so long as she was her normal happy self, everything was fine and dandy!
"Over there." He replied, pointing his snout towards a patch of bright pink flowers. As he moved the butterfly fluttered from his nose and moved to circle Bini's ears.
"Look it wants to make friends with you too Bini!" He squeaked, very glad that he could move freely now.

Forgetting about her little problem right then she just yipped and moved in a circle, looking up at the butterfly and giggling. "He's so pretty Uzu! What a good find..." and then she looked back to Uzu and darted toward him, snuggling into the male. "How is Uzu today!"

He poked his nose into Bini's fur and inhaled deeply, releasing it in a sigh. He was so happy right now. He tried to think back to life without her and found that he couldn't. When he had been a pup was nothing but a blur...a juv? He had some memories...But he knew these ones would never fade with time. Never.
The only thing missing was Kalpana, the seer part of his brain that seemed to have a life of it's own.
Was she so mad that she was never going to speak to him again? His ears drooped but he decided that for now he wasn't going to bother worrying about her. He'd try and talk to her later.
"Uzu very happy!" He replied, nuzzling into her. "Everything is perfect! Don't you think?" He nudged her with his snout and blinked his liquid-green eyes.

Ah! The question that seemed to get Bini's mind back on her weight. She licked at his ears and face a minute before turning away with out answering, moving to the water's edge and lapping some up. She seemed a little shy about it, which was weird because Bini wasn't easily described as shy. She finally turned around. "Well almost... Bini thinks everything with Uzu is perfect! Except..." Her ears pressed slightly back. "ExceptBiniisgettingfat." She said in a rush, whining. "And Bini doesn't want Uzu to not like her anymore... and and... and.." She whined as she cut off, taking a deep breath. Maybe she should do more running?

He leaned forwards on the tips of his toes, head canted and ears drawn forwards. He seemed to be listening for the most amazing speech of all time. Yet what he did hear shocked him a little.
He gave a small whine of surprise and took a step back, glancing at her form carefully. She didn't really seem to be that much fatter. Actually he thought that being a little more filled out suited her. She would be much nicer to snuggle with in any case.
He wagged his tail fiercely andf moved over to give her nose a few kisses. Bini! Don't be silly! Uzu will never stop loving you, ever. You are beautiful! More beautiful than the butterfly even!" And he beamed happily, "Plus I like Bini for being Bini!"

What a relief to hear! "Really?" She said quietly, and then snuggled into him and nipped his shoulder playfully. "Bini is not as pretty as that butterfly! But if Uzu thinks so... " She smiled again and her tail was wagging. "In any case I am glad this won't make Uzu stop loving Bini!" She licked the side of his face and then sat down, yawning.

He nodded and yipped happily, moving to roll over on the grass to expose his underbelly. He reached up to bat at her nose with an extended paw.
"Bini should trust me~ You are much prettier than the butterfly! And much harder to squash!" He giggled and his large ears flapped in a somewhat amusing fashion.
"Maybe we should eat grass? The antelopes are always skinny and they eat grass. Though...they don't have poofy fur like us." He blinked, "Maybe if you cut your fur off you'd realise you weren't fat? That actually you are as perfect as perfect can be!" He rolled slightly on the ground.
It seemed so strange to worry about something like weight.
Maybe it was a girl thing?

She laughed and layed down, batting a paw at his tummy. "Grass is not very yummy... and Bini liked her fur!" She suddenly whined out, but then she glanced back at herself and her fur. Maybe it was just extra poofy lately and the weight thing was all in her imagination?
"So where has everyone been lately?" For being in a pack she sure didn't socialize very much...

"I don't think grass would taste very nice..." He agreed. And giggled as she batted at his tummy.
"I guess everyone has been busy lately...I saw mother a couple of days back and my brother too. Not seen sis for a long time, not since she was mean. I suppose that's for the best though. Kalpana's gone too." He sighed, "maybe everyone left?"
But he was sure that wasn't the case. He still smelt the scents of other wild dogs about. "Orrrr maybe they are just playing hide and go seek?" He smiled.

Bini huffed. "Well no one told me they were playing! And only one dog can be it Uzu... so one of us would be hiding too if they were playing hide and seek!" She grinned and nipped his paw, rolling to her side. "Busy is no fun.." She said slowly, tail wagging in the dirt. At least, she liked laying around like this more than keeping busy with important things.

He nodded, it was sad that even though he had many brothers he hardly spoke to any of them. He wondered briefly what they were doing but had to admit he had never been that close to them. From the moment he could walk he had been off adventuring.
Always looking for that rainbow...
The rainbow he never got to chase.
"That's true! Ah well I guess they'll turn up when they get bored with all their important business!" His tail beat against the ground. "But your right Bini...it doesn't seem too lively around here..."

"Maybe that will change soon!" She shut her eyes and cuddled up against Uzu, very sleepy. "Like the calm before a storm... I was only in a storm once really.. it wasn't all that calm." She said slowly, a little puzzled over the fact.
