I've been doing a lot of sketches and CG practice lately. They're all pretty bad. I'm still working on this one, though: If you've got any suggestions on how to make the color more interesting here, please let me know. A problem I've got is that I have a hard time drawing a picture and not expecting the absolute best out of it, which is why these practice CGs are, I think, going to be really good for me. I try to put everything I learn (am I learning anything?) to use in bigger pictures, like the Game Steve one above. CG is really hard for me. :/ HEAR IZ A NEW 1: One of my favorite Gaians. ninja ninja NEWER CRAP

Seems to me that your highlights are not very pronounced. It's sort of odd.
Also, your skin tone has a strange hue to it, like maybe it's too yellowy.

Try not to use browns/grays for the shading. Try using reds and some purples. Also try mixing some of the skin tone into his sleeves. I'm making the assumption that they're leather, and leather reflects alot of stuff. Other than that, groovy stuff.

the third one is so nice. 4laugh his scars/slashes seem like someone cut into his skin and peeled off his epidermis. maybe a different background color will work better, and then incorporate that color into your shading.
for the other two, i'm not sure, because i'm not so great with CG either.

I think the scarf on the third one needs more texture domokun It doesn't look like a scarf, and even the part around the neck looks really cartoony and out of place, which makes it seem unfinished to me

Skin tones are a b***h for me, too. Someone mentioned not shading with greys and browns so much, and I'd pretty much go with what they're saying.
About the guy with the scarf: If the light source is coming from the viewer's left, then the left side of the guy's nose needs to be highlighted rather than the top. Right now, it's leaving a really harsh division between light and dark on his face that isn't present at all on his body (though some of that also comes from the way you colored his forehead).
I don't know exactly how you're coloring this, but for doing the scarf, when you're putting the colors down or blending them together (if that's even what you're doing), you could try some soft hatching rather than smoothing it all out.

And the b&w one after that is super bold and striking - i love it.
If you ever get around to that art I won you should do it like that.

i love the dude in the black suit; great balance, pose, and line
the first CG seems a little off to me. I think the spot on the right, just under her cheek should be as light. it makes it look as if it's protruding out more than it should i love her hair though
