Halloween stood outside a small cave within the woods. Her belly bulged to it's peak. She knew it would not be long before she had the foals. A few days before she had snuck into the village and stolen a couple of baskets from the weavers that had been placed under a spell that was made specially for the Soquili foals to be placed within. Now those baskets sat in the cave awaiting when they would be needed. Halloween now was simply waiting for when she would disappear into the cave and come out a mother. She really didn't expect anyone to be with her so she did not tell anyone where she was going. She did not want to be seen weak though it worried her now and she silently wished she'd at least told Princess that she was coming here to birth.

Gingey trotted along, his senses tingling with something that traveled through the air. For some reason, he felt like something was about to happen.. But not to him in a direct way... The only problem was, he could not tell what. Still, he felt like he was needed somewhere... Which was the only thing that kept him going right now.
"I wonder where Halloween is.. I haven't seen her in a few days... I hope she's alright."
Without really noticing it, Gingey was wandering aimlessly around a paster that bordered a very think patch of woods. Within these woods was the thing that was being carried through the air... The feeling that bothered him....

Halloween knew today was the day she was waiting for. Her body was restless as were the foals within her. They were ready and so was she. Her stomach muscles tensed and a sharp pain went through. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. It was starting. Once the pain stopped she turned about and went into the cave. Carefully she layed down on a light covering of grass on the stone floor of the cave. Down now she relaxed and let all other noises around her fade out. She had to concentrate on the task laying before her.

Stopping, the breeze that had been gently swaying the grass around gusted upwards, blowing into Gingey's face and causing him to sneeze a bit. Just as soon as it had come, it was gone. Gingey's white eyes were wide and wild.
"What just happened? Something is going on.. And I'm not liking it. Something.. Or someone.. Needs me..."
Looking around, his eyes taking in the scenery, the brown-speckled stallion spotted the luscious forest, his gaze not being able to leave it.
"I think that's where I need to go... I'm being called.. In some fashion.... Halloween.. I hope you're alright.."
With that said, Gingey started to walk towards the forest, his heart beating faster than it ever had before.

The cave around Halloween was silent and everything calm. She almost thought she was just being silly when minutes passed by and nothing happened. She did remember that there was such a thing as a false alarm but usually only two leggers fell for such a trick and she was smarter than a two-legger. A few minutes more passed and another sharp pain hit her. She clenched her jaw down tight and slowly took deep breaths. She had to breath that was one thing she had to do even if it hurt.

Now coming to the beginning of this vast forest, Gingey took a deep, deep breath, starting to head in. He wasn't really one for dark and spooky-looking forests... However, he did know that Halloween was. So, if she was to go anywhere to birth her foals, this would most definitely be the place. Flicking his cropped, white tail behind him, he disappeared behind the trees, his journey only beginning.

The pain relequished once again and Halloween relaxed. As she layed trying to keep calm and breath she noted that it seemed the pain was coming in evenly spaced intrivals and slowly those intrivals were shortening. Each pain spasm that came was more painful than the last. Her body tensed and her stomach muscles seemed to twitch uncontrollably. She'd been hurt before but never had she felt such pain wrake through her.

"Where to go now..?"
This simple question was rather complex in Gingey's mind, as all paths looked the same to him. Coming to a small clearing in the forest, five different paths surrounded him, all going their own direction. Turning one way, and then turning the next, the stallion was lost and confused, not knowing what to do or where to go.
"Halloween... Help me.. I want to get to you... Please...."

The pain was doubling so quickly she was beginning to panic. Was this supposed to happen? Was it supposed to hurt THIS much? Another pain spasm hit her and she let out a high pitched and pained whinny that echoed out the cave and sent the birds flying from the trees. The pain went as fast as it came and she struggled to breath. She had to breath. Her instincts screamed it but her fear screamed louder.

Freaking out as a mass of birds suddenly flew up from the trees, Gingey looked about, seeing a path lead right to where the birds had so suddenly fled. Maybe that was where Halloween was... Maybe it was a sign for him to follow... Or maybe it was an omen, only there to mislead him. Still, no matter what it was, he had to follow it and find out, for he feared that Halloween's life was on the line.
So, quickly taking the initiative, the brown-speckled stallion galloped down the path, only hoping for the best as his rump and hind legs disappeared into even more darkness.

Halloween got her wits back to her and breathed calmly. She was doing good. Yes good. Her ears swivled about as she heard the sploosh of water and more pain struck her. Looking to the stone floor she noted all the water behind her and blinked. ...That had come from her. Her eyes widened and she snorted as another contraction came. Closing her eyes she began to push down.

Slowing it down some, Gingey trotted around, looking about for any signs of Halloween at all. For a stallion who had somehow helped to conceive foals, he was extremely worried about her. Maybe he was only worried for the foals, but he quickly shook that thought away. He would never think that.. For he loved Halloween.
Did he really? Stopping and staring at the ground, his white eyes wandered, not sure about his current thoughts. Did he really love her, or did he not? He wasn't sure.... But still, he had to get to her. He could feel it in the air that she needed help.
So, he continued onward, the forest starting to curve some, a cave appearing up ahead.

Halloween easily pushed the head of the first foal out then started on the hardest part to push out the shoulders. She grunted and bore down until with a sqluech the first foal flopped onto the straw and stone. She quickly began to clean the foal off but barely got to clean the foals face before another contraction hit taking her attention away from the shivering and wet being next to her. Now Halloween saw why it would have been better to bring someone with her.

Seeing the entrance of a rather large cave up ahead, Gingey's hopes began to get high. Maybe this was where Halloween had hid. After all, it was dark and in the middle of pretty much nowhere, surrounded by things that no one really cared about. So, in Gingey's mind, this was the type of place that Halloween would search out.
Cautiously, the stallion stepped one hoof into the cave, sniffing around. Instantly, a foul smell hit his nose, along with the smell of fear, panic, and Halloween herself.
This was it! She was here!

Halloween didn't even notice Gingey at the entrance to the cave as her attention was still on the immediate pushing. Her strength was draining with each push she gave and the second foal's body seemed to not want to get out. She stopped for a mere moment to take another breath and then gave one hard push sending the last foal out onto the ground in a slight tumble. Both foals were out and now she had to get them clean and into their baskets quickly.
Admist the foul smells of body fluids Halloween caught the scent of something that wasn't there before. She tensed and did her best to hide the newly born foals even though she could not get up. "Who's there?" She shouted towards the entrance. Who could this be and what did they want?
