He had watched saddly as the deep red lion had left him on the beach not twenty four hours ago, the pale sands and slow tides eased his pains slightly but he realised all too well he couldn't live on the beach alone. he hoped quietly that Khepri would change ehr mind, turn around and come back to him, but she had not, she had drifted off in to the sunset, a deep ruby red blob vanishing in to the honey golden light.

His huge, jet black paws ate up the miles of coast line easily enough, he had a feeling he would come upon opther lions out here. he had after all, heard rumours of a pride on the sands. perhaps they would let him join. Tossing his now dry mane from his coal black eyes he slowly settledin to a mild mannered trot, allowing the sea breeze to calm his mind andease his sence of loneliness. the sea, the reason for him being here, the one reason why he hadn't followed Khepri. he had waited his whole life to feel the sea on his fur and the sand between his toes. he had to enjoy every second of it.

Taking in a deep breath he let a roguish smile draw on his pale lips. The sea, he had loved it even before he had seen it and now, he was determined to stay by it forever.

His cubs were growing up fast now and Tamba was finding himself with more time on his hands as his brood became more self-sufficient. They'd been classed in most Bahari traditions now and they had the sense to know their limits as far as exploring goes. The only thing left for them was hunting and the intricacies of life, which Tamba blushed at the mere thought of trying to teach!

With Maonari out of action juggling his new cubs, Tamba filled in the gaps and took some extra patrol duty in his stride. New cubs. They had to be kept safe. The advantage of their home was that there was only a few ways in which to approach the coast.

And the dark silhouette had chosen one of them. Tamba stood still and surveyed the figure, watching movements carefully for body language for signs of friend or foe.

The shadow like male padded onwards along the sandy hores, hardly noticing the sea coloured tamba until a breath of air caught his nose and he found the yellow eyed male. With a roguish grin, the jet black male padded towards the smaller dark blue male. "Alo thar matey! Tha tide be pretty high thie ere mornin laddy, I be thinkin' tis perfec' weather fer sailin eh?" He chuckled lightly and sat, his large, heavily mucled black from and thick lock of a mane blocking out a fair amount of sunlight.

"Ere do ye live roun' ere matey? I be 'earin' tales 'o' a sea pride a settin' up anchor on these shores some whar. i'll be durnt if I bin able ta fin' um tho. 'praps ye can point me in tha right direction ey?" he raised a curious brow then, that big, friendly smile never leaving his maw.

the jet black male always knew that he could look quite forboeding, being huge and black as the ace of spades, but those things could be cast away if he came accross as his usual, friendly self. He'd been raised a pride lander after all. There was no other way to be.

Tamba watched carefully as the silhouette not only came into clearer view, but began to get larger. And larger. He was not as big as Maonari or Zizima, but he was certainly bigger tham poor Tamba. He breathed deep, stood firm, and prepared himself for anything...

Anything that is, except for the words that tumbled out of the lions mouth.

Tamba stood and stared blankly at Kota, mouth slightly agape and brow furrowed as he tried to mentally translate the thick and rather strange accent of the pridelander. He couldn't make all of it out, but he at the very least picked up 'sea pride.'

"Urrmm...if you're looking for the sea pride...you're lookin' at it. I'm Tambuzi, the Bahari'mtoto king," he said, taking it slow but sounding bemused all the same.

The large black lion laughed as the deep blue grey male spoke of being the king. He grinned happily. "well I say lad, tis 'bout time I foun' ye! Yas are an ard bunch ta fin'!" The dark male tilted his head then in a bow, he had of course been taught of royalty, of respect for those in places of power, he knew how to be polite despite his rough accent and tough apperance. "Tha names Nahodha'kota but most jus' be callin' me 'kota tis an easier mouth ful than me ole name." He chuckled again then his long tail swishing and causing a long groove in the sand.

"I be 'opin ye won't min' me stickin aroun' ere capn' I be used ta a pridal life, ah'v grown up in tha lan's O pride, but me 'eart she belongs ta tha salty brine ya know?" He grins hopfully. Growing up in the pridelands he was a very social chracter, but the seas pull had dragged him away from those lands. Pert of him still searched for companion ship though, a crew to join. "Ah can be a moighty fine crew man fer ye capn' ifn ye'll allow me ta stay."

There it was again. Tamba's poor brain working over-time as it tried to adjust to Kota's thick accent quickly so he could understand him. He was at least reassured slightly in that Kota obviously understood what Tamba said, so he wouldn't have to speak in accent for the large lion to comprehend.

"Well, yes, we are a bit out of the way, keeps us a bit safer sometimes. Often from things we can't always control," he said politely, almost feeling as though he had to justify his choosing of these lands.

Ah, this lion had some manners, which brought a broad smile to his maw.

"Pleasure to meet you Kota," he said, and returned the bow. "I'm sure you can find a niche of your own here and fit in well. Sounds like you like to be around others. You're welcome to come and stay in the pridal lands for a while, see what you think. All I ask is that you're careful around the cubs."

He hoped he didn't cause offense with this last request, but a father and a king had to be careful.

"They're still youngsters y'see."

"Aye capn', Ah'll no interfere wit teh cubbins less ye see fit." He smiled and chuckled lightly "Ah do love tha littluns, they brings a smile ta an ol sea dogs face. Wish ta ave a crew o me own one day." He looked sort of wistful for a moment then, but the look was only breif. He could only hope that khepri would return to him one day.

"Ah'll be appy ta be 'o' service ta ya in any way tho sir, ah'v lived on me own fer a while now, I know 'ow ta fish an' ow ta play tha look out on tha crows nest. If ye need a 'andy paw jus' lemmie know." He smiled and gave the king of the sea another bow. "Ah'll jus' be a kippin in a bunk oer yonder capn'" He tilted his head towards a scattering of rocks further up the beach. "If ye be wantin' anythin' ye be a lettin' me know, Ah'll be appy ta oblige ye!"

With one final bow the large dark male gave a very humble bow and turned his back to Tamba, his heavy strides taking him up the beach to his 'bunk' in no time. At last he had found the sea pride. Perhaps he would at last be home.

Tamba watched, quite bemused as Kota left, obviously eager to explore these lands and start making a name for himself. Although he'd never been close enough to the Pridelands to find out, he absently wondered if all of them talked like he did...

'Kota glanced back down the beach to watch the king of the sea pride leave. This was certainly going to be an interesting place to live, he was excited, maybe he could be a part of a pride again, and by the sea! The only thing that could make this better was Khepri..She was long gone, he ahd to stop dwelling, at least he had the sea...

As Tamba vanished from the beach the large male decided it was time to explore the sands a little more. Raising to his dark paws, the pale lips split in a cheesy grin as he padded off down the sands, his ears cocked forwards. The sea had been his mistress his whole life, it was only now that he had grown to a floruishing adult that he could enjoy the waves, enjoy their beauty.

A slight squirk came to his lips though, the reason he had travelled to these far reaches was so that he could see the sea, but the female that had led him here. She was gone from his sight. Dark eyes looked out atthe sea, his onyx like orbs reflecting the briney ocean. He let a single sigh roll over his pale lips as he thought of her, that red feamle whom spoke like him, whom he adored, whom he doubted he would ever see again...

His toes soaked up the briney water when they came in to contact with the waves. Wriggling his very large toes in the salty waves he chuckled. Despite his heart ache, the sea always made him feel better. He felt like, well he was made for the sea. Closing his eyes he let the sea breeze ruffle through his large thick mane, his nose wrinkled the salty air filling his lungs , his chest thrown forwards, thrown wide, every scent on that salt tainted breeze flowing through his body. He loved the sea.

Without a moments notice he catapulted in to the waves, his paws pelting through the shallows causing a great rucus "Yee har!" he shouted, scareing a few near by seaguls from their nests amongst the rocks.

Wadeing in to the deep ocean the water lapped around his body as he started to doggy paddle, the cool waters splashing against his fur as he swam around enjoying the cool feel of the water upon his body. This was what he lived for. The waves.

Paddling back to the beach 'kota stepped showly on to the shifting damp ssand. Flickering his soggy tail he laughed and shook out his dark fur. For a moment he was extremely fluffy, his thick pridelander fur poofing out. It soon settled though and he simply dripped on to the sand. With a smile he looked back atthe sea behind him. "Ah'll be seein' ye again soon lassy!" He whispers padding up tehe beach leaving large damp foot marks as he went. The trail he left from the sea was pretty obvious but it would soon fade in to the sand leaving nothing but dry sands once again.

Sighing lightly he gave another shake half way up the beach, further drying his dark fur though the heated sun warmed his fur and quickly turned his back from wet to dry.

Returning to the spot where he had gone when the king of the Bhari had left him, he lay with his paws crossed and eyes closed enjoying the warm sun on his back and the gentle breeze at his nose. This was the life.

With the sun beating down upon his back the large dark male put his head on his paws with a yawn. It had been an interesting day. To have met the king of the bhari, to be considered for joining a pride. He was sio used to being within a pride being out of one concerned him. The pridelands were long behind him sure enough and he could not leave the sea. A pride here, it was perfection in itself.

Letting another yawn roll down his dark body he closed his eyes. He could think about it more after a nap. Letting sleep engulf him the large shaggy male fell in to a deep dreamless sleep, with nout on his mind but the sea.
