Corvus found his wings were slightly stiff from several weeks of disuse and was immensely grately that they were not a large component of his flying. Still, he could think of no more appropriate verb than "winged" to describe his journey to Yeande's residence. His wings were quite large and awe-inspiring and today he found a perverse pleasure in admiring the feathered protrusions.

This brief foray into the ridiculously self-indulgent was soon cut short as he found himself drifting outside the balcony and staring at the bonsai garden wondering if this was, in fact, a good idea, and decided that it probably was not but he was going to go through with it anyway. This farce had gone on long enough and he would no longer be held a prisoner in his own home simply because he was too proud to admit when he was in the wrong. The thought put a deep scowl on his face as he surveyed the miniature plants.

Amidst the plants, a darker figure moved. At first, it seemed to be cloaked, but as he approached closer, Corvus could see that it was a pair of black leathered wings folded over the back of a slender form that was currently working at getting those plants ready for the coming of winter. Yeande had been out here since well before dawn, the feien preferring to doze during the day and be active at night. She liked this time... it meant no one else in the apartment was up at this ungodly hour, except Ankou, who seemed to hardly sleep at all.

Still, he wasn't out HERE, he was currently draped over Mr. Cat on the couch, watching something on television. Last Yeande had checked, it was several channels at once, the young feien playing the game that Youko grudgingly called 'channel surfing'.

Clearing his throat, Corvus drifted towards Yeande and tried to look regal with his stiff wings and posture. He only managed to look, well, rather stiff and uncomfortable. "Morning," he said as amicably as he could manage, which wasn't much. He dragged out the first syllable in a sort of contemplative way.

Glancing up, Yeande's eyes were widened, and she appeared almost owl-like, staring up from where she was working on one of the tea-rose bushes. "Corvus!" she exclaimed softly, getting up and dusting herself off slightly. "It's good to see you out and about once more. I gave your message to that Yanvir... odd bird that he is... but he refused to come. I would have stayed to convince him, but he vanished."

"COMPANY!" Ankou's voice shouted from the livingroom, where the small Feien had caught sight of the golden glow surrounding Corvus. He darted towards the sliding glass door, only to crash into it a moment later and go sliding down into a heap on the floor.

Rolling her eyes, Yeande glanced over to make certain that he hadn't REALLY hurt himself this time, then just shook her head and turned back to Corvus. "I wonder about him sometimes."

Corvus shot Ankou a decidedly annoyed look and placed himself between Yeande and the glass so his wings blocked her view of the juvenile. He sincerely hoped that would give Ankou the impression that he was not welcome in the conversation. "I wish I could say I had more confidence in Yanvir than in Ankou, but I don't," Corvus said simply. "That's why I've come here."

One brow lifted and Yeande perched on the side of the flowerpot, her hands at either side of her hips against the orange clay. "They both seem to be a bit 'not right' in the head... I had thought that perhaps I'd just gotten too used to Shalafi being around. That boy has a logic and reason that confound me at times." She tilted her head to the side then, watching Corvus intently. "Tell me then, what brought you here?"

Corvus dreaded asking, but he had to. "I've come to a compromise with Emperial. She agreed to let me see Yanvir provided I at least send Aileron an apology by proxy."

That explained it. Yeande normally would have made a rather smartassed comment in a situation like this... but she also knew just how much it took for Corvus to swallow his pride at least enough to make it this far. "And I am to be that proxy," she said simply, nodding towards him in understanding.

He could have sighed in relief, but he did not. He simply afforded himself a small smile that seemed entirely too smug and nodded. "So long as Emperial hears that Aileron has received my apology, I'm free to pursue my immortality quest, and not a moment too late."

Time to wipe at least part of the smug off of his face. Sitting up a bit straighter, Yeande let a wry smirk cross her lips. "Then the moment I have delivered your apology, I will come to your home and inform Emperial."

He seemed not to notice anything odd about this statement. "Excellent. I don't suppose we can get this whole thing taken care of today?"
PostPosted: Mon Nov 08, 2004 4:47 am

"Perhaps later today," she responded. "I'm not even certain if Aileron will be around today or not. Either way, I can do nothing until it's at least a more hospitable hour... the only ones awake so far are the two of us, and the idiot in there." Frowning at his sudden turn of attitude, she watched him carefully. "Is there anything specific you wish me to tell him? I'm not going to be foolish enough to suggest you tell him youself, but if you want me to deliver an apology, you should at least give me the message I'm supposed to deliver."

Corvus screwed his face into a thoughtful expression and rocked on his heels. "Ho, hum, just anything that sounds apologetic I suppose. 'Corvus is sorry he nearly killed you' would do, or something like that. You can use your own discretion in the matter. I did contemplate delivering it myself at this point, but I rather don't think I'd make it through the door, or even within five feet of the door. I'd hate to run into one of those so-called guardians of his."

She shouldn't have expected that much. "Fine. Not only will I deliver your apology for you, I'll think it up for you too. Will you have this much trouble thinking of what to say to Yanvir, or do you only have lapses with things you really don't want to do?" She pushed herself away from the pot then, moving towards the roses that she'd been tending.

Somewhere between the forming of thoughts in his head and the opening of his mouth Corvus forgot to pause, which resulted in the unfortunate response: "You mean you need me to help you compose the apology?"
