I don't know if he's a friend or foe yet - but I do like him. He's one of the more interesting characters in my opinion - the fact that he's so... well - mysterious. You don't really know what he's thinking and it's quite interesting.

Personally, I think he's one of the biju (tailed beasts), having been found among dead bodies at a young age, and his red eyes during the chuunin exams arc.
