Chath sat under a tree, the sun was hot that day and though he wanted to practice more of his magic he just couldn't keep himself hydrated. Several empty water bottles lay scattered around him, his close were basically soaked in the stuff while he rested for a bit. The black dragon Keir lay beside him, mostly because the shade of the tree wasn't very large and he wanted part of it. Yes even if it meant laying right beside the boy.
Licking his lips Chath looked to his last water bottle and decided to drink the contents this time afterwards he stood, gathered his mess and placed them in a plastic bag, it was time to get practicing again. Disappointed in missing the center he had dedicated this day to accuracy rather than the size of the water globe. His target was an old dart board his mother gave him, full of holes he didn't mind, it had the center rings just like the one he did in his final so that was all that mattered.

Ligeia was currently hanging out where he had long ago decided was the best place to hang out, it had the best view one could ever ask for, a nice breeze, it was quiet. It was the roof of D-corp where one could sit and see everything! He was sitting on the edge of the building feeting hanging off the edge. He had no fear of heights, in fact the higher the better if you asked him.
Vorel was lounging next to him, head laying next to him while the rest of him was curled up next to the wall he sat on. It was sunny out, warm out and as a frost dragon he wasn't the biggest fan. The breeze made it tolerable though now and again he would give a puff of cold, foggy air to help cool himself off, "Ler ber." He complained, lifting his head to give the sun a momentary glare.
"Its not to bad, will be worse when summer comes along though." Ligeia said, looking over the edge of the building seeming a movement of orange. The bird of prey narrowed his eyes a little to see what it was, wait... he knew who that was. He had lots of classes with him, "Hey! Look Vorel! Its Chath."
The Frost dragon lifted himself up to look down over the edge of the building before giving a nod, "Chath." He agreed, looking around but didn't see the dragon that had been with Chath during class due to their angle.
"Want to go say Hello?" Ligeia as hopping to his feet and brushed himself off. Vorel gave a nod then both of them looked at each other before they got duel grins on their faces.
A moment later with a running start both had jumped off the edge of the building...

Chath...who knew what had caused him to look up, he had no idea what or what had made him look up. A tingling sensation had pricked the back of his shoulders and when he turned all he could see was....the D-corp building...towering into the air, he hadn't been much in that building. Asides from when he needed to take classes there wasn't much interest there.
Now his eyesight wasn't nearly as good of Legeia's but for sure he could see two bodies suddenly jump from the top of the building's roof, his eyes nearly bugged out, someone was in trouble? Chath abandoned what he was doing and turned and darted towards the building....though he was really far away. How would he make it in time?
Keir looked up lazily only to see Chath bolting off towards the tower. He looked up his large dark eyes focusing instantly on the pair in the air. AN areial attack? Leaping to his feet the black dragon darted forward to catch up with Chath, a bellowing roar escaping his jaws. A roar of a challenge.
Chath turned as he heard the roar, Keir? That was Keir making that sound? The small black hardly made a sound except the snigger and snorts of annoyance...what prompted this?

Ligeia completely misunderstood of course seeing Chath heading in their direction he figured that the boy had seen them and was coming to meet them. Ligeia gave a flap of his wings to turn some so that he could catch a good current of air so that he could head to meet Chath halfway...
Vorel followed suit... that was until a sound was suddenly sent their way, a roar? Another dragon? He saw the black dragon suddenly running up behind Chath from where it had been hiding and it was roating at them. Surely the smaller dragon wasn't looking for a fight? Vorel had never gotten in a fight outside of a training class before...
He flapped to catch himself in the air, fluttering to hover watching Keir not wanting to land if he thought that the Black was going to attack, "Ligeia!" He called after his partner even as the owl moved to land near to Chath.

IT was Chath's first time seeing Keir in this light, hackles raise like a foaming wolf the Black dragon eye'd the pair above them in the air....wait.....
Chath looked up again this time he could make out whom it was falling...er flying. Ligeia.
"Keir no! Stop! It's Ligeia! From class remember?? And her dragon!" He wasn't sure what the dragon's name was but this wasn't the time to discuss that, he first needed to get Keir to calm down. He moved over to stand in front of his dragon, perhaps getting in the line of sight would cause the dragon to snap out of his sudden adrenaline.
Keir growled in annoyance.....that wimpy girl? he couldn't believe he ran out in the hot sun ready to attack some whimpy girl....with a huff the black backed off and trotted back to the shade.
Chath could only breath a sigh of relief...he looked up again and waved this time. "Hello!" he called out to Ligeia wondering if she could hear him from that distance.

Ligeia waved then fluttered down to land in front of Chath giving him a bright smile, "Hello." He greeted his classmate then looked up over his shoulder to where Vorel was. The dragon remained in the air until Keir was back to the shade and he landed, good. No fights. It wasn't so much the fight he worried about but instead that he would be fighting with the dragon of one of his partner's friends. It would make Ligeia sad so he wouldn't fight with him. He trotted over to the pair and sat back on his haunches and nodded to Chath, lifting his wings up to shade himself from the sun.
"This is Vorel." He introduced not sure if he had ever told Chath his dragon's name, then smiled, "What are you two up to today?"
Oblivious to the fact that poor Chath thought he had fallen off the building...

Chath ran a hand through his hair giving a half grin at Ligeia's landing. "Oh...nothing, I was practicing some magic earlier but it is really warm today.." He explained though it really wasn't all too warm...he just tended to be more sensitive to temperatures than most people.
"Sorry about Kier...he is a bit grumpy today is all." He continued trying to cover up his dragon's rather hostile behavior. He then focused on the dragon Ligeia was indicating and Chath grinned and gave the dragon a wave.
"Nice to meet you Vorel." He said with a nod of his head, and then looked back to Ligeia, "Isn't it a bit dangerous jumping off a tall building like that? what if something had happened to you?" he asked giving Ligeia a look of concern. It wouldn't be good to have his fellow classmate get hurt....

"Ohhh... your working your magic? Thats great. You had really neat magic." Ligeia said thinking about the spell that he had cast during their final with Mr. Barkhelm. He looked up at the sun a moment before he nodded in agreement, "Vorel was just saying the same thing. He does something special for when he wants to cool down though. Show him Vorel?"
Vorel nodded then gave a puff of cool, foggy air that was sent into the air and settled down around them.
The owl child glanced over at Keir then gave a wave to the black dragon, "Thats alright, I'm sorry if we scared him when we came flying down." He looked up at the building then looked for a moment unsure, "Hmm... maybe dangerous but we do it a lot. Its a lot of fun because its so high up."
Ligeia gave Chath another smile, the other boy was worried about him? Chath had said that he wanted to be a hero so it made sense that he would worry about someone else's safety, "Thank you though, that is very sweet of you."

Chath grinned at Ligeia's words and praise. "Yah well, I thought your magic looked really neat too. I wouldn't mind learning ice, or fire. But i doubt i will get that far in magic. I find it really hard to do." He explained as he lifted his hand and formed a small ball of water at the tips of his fingers.
"This is all i can manage thus far. . ." he said his voice sounding disappointed but his face perked right up again as he watched the frost dragon breath a cloud like fog into the air. Even at this distance he could feel the temperature drop, it felt good.
"Wow your dragon can do that? Keir can only spit acid..." He mentioned glad that the black was far enough away that he probably couldn't hear this conversation, especially when Ligeia mentioned Kier being frightened...that was the last thing he needed...his dragon trying to prove he wasn't afraid...
Shaking his head he let the water ball float into the air and then travel up his arm and then down the other arm, like when a basket ball player roll a ball across...just a lot smaller. Yah he was showing off, and why shouldn't he? Ligiea was cute a girl he wanted to show off his moves to her.
And it made sense that one who could fly would like heights...he wasn't too fond of them, though he thought it silly to be afraid or such things even when he was trying to be a hero. He looked up to Ligeia and gave a half laugh, "What is flying like?" he asked, he had never experienced it, even Kier didn't leave the ground very much, his first few attempts at flying were....uh unsuccessful.

"I love magic quiet a bit, its what I am working on specializing now that I have go choose Magic or Battle classes, I wasn't very good in my battle courses..." He gave a little laugh, flushing some. Saying he wasn't very good was... being nice about it but he didn't want to sound that bad in front of a potential friend.
"I have only done my one spell myself, I wanted to concentrate on it so that I would be ready for the Final. I am really interested in this stuff I read about in a book, Summoning magic. It sounds quite interesting." He watched the way that Chath manipulated the ball of water seeming quite impressed by it, he was pretty good at that. So far Ligeia could only get his to make the spears and hover or shoot with them. Maybe he should try that?
He looked over at Chath then grinned, "Flying is the best, total freedom!" He said, "Want to see what its like? I can take you up, maybe not to far since your about the same size as me but far enough so you could see what its like. Or if you don't trust me to do it you could ride Vorel."
Vorel was good for Dragon rides, Ligeia had brough Alora up on him and the mellow Frost didn't seem to mind others that weren't his partner crawling on him thus far.

Chath listened in interest, Ligeia was so different from Earako. The polite bat girl wasn't good at fighting and seemed frightened of magic but he was going to help her, perhaps he should offer to help Ligeia. He didn't want to be presumptuous though and just assume Ligeia needed help.
"You seem really keen on magic, I know you will probably become a very powerful uh magic weilder some day." He said as he couldn't think of the female term for magician at the moment.
"Funny I find I have that feeling when I am in water." he said with a light laugh and then gave a widened eye'd look to Ligeia....her? Pick him up and fly?
"I don't want to be a nuisance to you, but if Vorel doesn't mind that would be neat....Kier won't let me ride him..." He explained, the black dragon was small...not too small to let Chath ride him....the black dragon just had too much pride to let Chath ride him.
Keir though as much as he seemed to be ignoring the group, was watching them like a hawk. Still riled up from the earlier part of the day he wasn't about to let his gaurd down..

Ligeia flushed brightly then gave a brightly smile, "Thank you Chath, thats so nice of you to say. I hope that your right about that." Ligeia's wings flapped in a happy sort of way, to hear someone say that he was going to be good at what he wanted to do was something that lifted his spirts quite high.
"You swim? I learned the skill so in chase I ever fell in but... aside from that I'm not the best. Wings kinda get in the way." He had fun though learning since it wasn't him alone, "I got to learn with Sahra." He wondered if Chath knew her?
Ligeia gave a happy sound as Chath agreed to go flying, "Naw, Vorel doesn't mind." He said then to make sure he looked at his dragon, "Is it ok for you to carry Chath up in the air for a little bit?"
Vorel looked at the orange boy, "Leo d'na scov." He said, puffing up some looking for a moment serious, enough to make Ligeia's eyes go wide before the dragon gave a laughing sound, nodding, "Ana, ana."
"Brat." Ligeia muttered.

Chath was proud of his swimming abilities and the fact he could breath underwater helped as well. "Well if I am ever with you and you do fall in I will save you." He cliamed with a fist thudding his chest to prove his point that he was sturdy like a rock. Only he ended up smooshing the water ball into his shirt...which exploded like a water balloon all over himself.
Feeling a bit goofy he dropped his hand away to reveal he now very damp shirt... "er....If Vorel doesn't mind me being a bit damp now...haha...haha..ha.." He laughed off his accident with a rub of the back of his head.
"Sahra? Is she a cheetah? I can't recall meeting someone with that name...though it does sound familiar..." he explained trying to change the focus away from his mild accident with the water ball.
He wondered what exactly Vorel was saying that way he annunciate things was different from Kier and Kier didn't really speak much dragon so it wasn't like he had a large opportunity to learn either..
"So ...it is ok Vorel? jsut a quick ride...I don't wan tto bother you too much..."

"I will definately keep you in mind when I need a hero." He promised him, then gave a little giggle when he suddenly crushed the water sphere he'd had in his hand when he thudded his fist against his chest, "Ahh... sorry. I shouldn't laugh." He applogized not wanting to insult his friend then giggled a little more hiding it behind his wing.
"Yes, the cheetah. I've only seen her in a few classes since then." He mused, then again he got to see a lot of people in classes, fewer outside of them. He really should remedy that. Ligeia walked over to Vorel and hopped up, fluttering so that he could land on his back and the dragon knelt down for Chath, "He doesn't mind he was just joking around."
Vorel gave a toothy sort of smile and then lowered his head so that Chatch could easily climb up.
"Sit on his next above his wings and wrap your legs around." Ligeia instructed as he'd been shown how to do a while back when he'd taken his first ride on Vorel.

Chath looked a bit ashamed of his stupidity with the water ball but only laughed it off once again. It made Ligeia laugh, boy she was cute when she laughed. So ah well he made a joke of himself who cared? Now he was going to get to ride a dragon!
"Hmm I have met her breifly through class but that is it...I really only know Earako well and the poor girl got frightened off by our magic teacher..." He explained to remind Ligiea of the bat girl who basically they only saw for their first magic lesson.
Moving he went to do as instructed. This was so exciting! He was going to fly! and on a dragon! The dragon part shouldn't of been that exciting but he never flew on a dragon...Kier wouldn't let him. Sitting hapharzardly on Vorel's back he did as Ligiea instructed and felt himself steady...though he was still excited he was also feeling a bit nervous.
Kier looked up suddenly in alarm. WHAT was that dragon doing??? Didn't he know that Chath was his partner?? He let a low growl emit from his throat, he didn't like where this was going...
