Forsaken Swordsman presents another cult story, "Journey Into the Unknown". Here is the key info you need about the story. -To help keep people reading, (and also because I don't have much free time) I hope to update in short chunks. -The story features culties as the main characters, but with more realistic names. -The adventure is set in a victorian style seting, so don't expect lasers. -Characters won't have special powers etc, but will behave in a more real manner. -There will be plenty of excitment and even some death along the way. -The story is based on Journey to the Centre of the EarthAnd that's all you really need to know, please enjoy the story.

Current Chapter -----
Version 2 of the final chapter
040: Sacrifice
“Not another crazy maniac,” sighed Alyssa.
“The sapphire city is gone,” said Silverman, “There is no reason to fight.”
“I live only for battle,” said the woman, “I care not for the city. I was sent here as a final guardian for anyone who was fortunate enough to make it this far. If you can pass me, I will die and you will be free.” The woman skilfully swung her sword around her body, before speaking again, “But you shall not pass me.”
“Everyone move to different parts of the room,” signalled Miles, “We need to open that door.”
“I will strike you all down, one by one,” declared the woman, moving swiftly across the floor at Miles, “Staring with this one.”
Miles raised his rifle and hit the woman in the knee, causing her to fall. She was quickly back up however, seemingly uninjured.
“Another invincible b*****d?” snarled Miles, moving around the room.
Whilst the woman was down, Foxley had made it to the door. “Throw me the tablet!” he shouted to Silverman, who was still a little way from the door.
Silverman threw the tablet as hard as he could, but then he noticed that the woman was heading for Foxley too, “Watch out!” he yelled.
Foxley raised his hand instinctively, ducking slightly. When he looked again, he saw that the tops of his fingers were fingers were missing. Luckily, it was his broken hand, so he felt no pain. “You’ve had an hard day haven’t you,” said Foxley lovingly to his hand, as he went to retrieve the tablet, that had fallen to the floor.
“I don’t miss twice!” yelled the robed assassin, as she prepared to swing at Foxley again.
“I don’t miss at all!” said Miles, shooting at the woman again.
“Your petty weapons are annoying me,” she snarled, throwing a long dagger at Miles. It struck him deep into his chest, and he fell to the floor.
“Miles!” exclaimed Foxley, running to help him.
“I’m okay!” shouted Miles, despite his injury, “Get the tablet man!”
“Too late,” laughed the woman, picking up the tablet herself.
“You won’t stop us now!” shouted Drakam, punching the woman in the head as hard as he could. It was enough to cause her to drop the tablet, but she recovered quickly and brought her sword quickly back around, stabbing Richard through the stomach.
“I’ll finish this,” said Justina, grabbing the tablet from the floor.
“I’ll kill you next,” snarled the woman, starting to move. But she couldn’t, Richard Drakam, was holding her arm tightly, the sword still sticking out of his back.
“Time for you to die,” he laughed, blood spilling from his mouth.
Justina shoved the tablet into the slot, opening the hole that needed a sacrifice. “I’ve got this one covered,” said Foxley, shoving his broken hand into the hole. The gears started to move, and the door began to open.
The robed assailant fell to the ground, her life quickly departing. “Richard!” yelled Justina, as Bill helped him to sit up, “That was a very brave thing you did.”
“Too little too late perhaps,” laughed Drakam, as he closed his eyes and departed to eternal sleep.
“This whole place had been one sacrifice after another, “ said Alyssa quietly.
“Let’s get out of here,” said Miles, blood still dripping from his wound, “There is a town not far from here.” But his words faded as he too slumped to the floor.
“Miles!” shouted Foxley, running over.
“Not another one,” said Justina, holding her mouth in shock.
“He’s still alive!” said Foxley, “But barely, we need to get him to a doctor!”
It took only a short time to apply some bandages to Mile’s wound. Bill and Silverman were tasked with carrying his body, whilst the girls moved Drakam into a corner.
“We will return and give you a proper burial,” smiled Justina, as the group headed out into biting winds, each remembering the deeds of their friends that had enabled them to get back to the outside world.

Sauvie I love the idea as I have said before but on that little list shouldnt you and Skull have the same last name or are you not family in the story? At the moment, we're not brothers in the story. I might make us brothers, but I'm not sure yet.

I'd prefer to be called Fish, as that's what I'm called in real life, but if not, Meta is a good backup name, too. If neither of those, PM me. Great to see you writing again, David.

I added a few details for some of the characters, as a preview of the story. Once I have names for as many people as possible I'll be able to start the story.
