Faile reclined in a relaxed manner outside the den she shared with her mate, Jaxom, and their pups. Jaxom was all that a devoted mate should be, and the puppies were growing well. Bindi seemed to be content enough, too. Faile's ears flicked back as she remembered the day she'd brushed close to humans again. It seemed that everyone she knew had reason to hate and fear the two-legged fiends. Fear for the pups had spurred her to lead them on a merry chase away from the den, allowing them to escape. The jet-she wolf had escaped as well once she was certain the pups would be able to make it to the den, and returned to what was quickly becoming a home.
The nightmares still plagued her now and again, but she'd had trouble with those since the death of her former pack. Jaxom understood, having lost a pack and most of his family himself. She loved him for that, even as she wondered how the inevitable meeting with Damu would go. She knew little of Jaxom's brother, or his mate.
Her tail beat lightly against the ground as she simply relaxed, enjoying the relative peace. She'd be pounced by energetic and playful puppies soon enough.
