{Crossposting}

Okay, so, I'm making my own personalised curse/hex/cursmitex, but first, pick your favourite belief and stick to it:

For those who object to this idea, and wish to say something about how unethical hexes are:
I communed with Ma'at, Egyptian goddess of truth and justice, and she told me my idea was both stunning and ethical; therefore, you should say nothing about the moral stance of casting or creating this hex. The statement below is a lie to make me seem cooler to the people in the guild I want to impress.

For those who do not object to this idea, and don't want to say anything about the ethical standpoint of hexes:
You're all wonderful people. The statement above is a lie to sate the appetites of ravenous three-fold-lawyers who insist on pouncing on threads about teh black magix and spouting "kharmic [sic] law".

Cheers.

Now, on to my idea. I'm in the middle of planning a Hex of sorts, that, simply put, causes the victim to have that creeping someone's-watching-me feeling, as well as giving them brief, fleeting visions of people's faces out of the corner of their eye, outside their window, when looking in mirrors, etc. As part of the ritual, I'm using one of those cheap masks you get out of art stores, and decorating it with a montage of faces cut out from photographs and such, all featuring someone looking straight into the camera in a rather creepy fashion. I know, I know, it's an awesome idea.

My problem is this, though: for some added Oomph! (not the band, sadly), I'm looking for some sort of deit(y/ies) to ask for a blessing in the rite, but so far I can't think of any. Their domain has to be something like watchfulness, fear, faces, eyes, curses, paranoia, and so on. I vaguely remember there being an angel whose name means "The Eyes of God", but I don't remember the name at all ~_~

So, people of the guild, I beseech thee: Can anyone name or provide information on particular deities, spirits, powers e.t.c that may help my wee ritual along? I'm willing, even, for fictional beings, but I'd rather go with one of the Old Hands if I possibly can. Cheers in advance.

EDIT: Kay, I'll keep track of powers suggested here, for those that want to jump right in with suggestions without reading the thread:

[Loki/ Norse (Trickster Domain): Pretty good suggestion]
[Ma'at/Khemetic (Justice Domain): Only works if the hex is deserved.]
[Deimos & Phobos/Classical Greek (Dread/Fear Domain): Damn good suggestion.]
[Graeae/Classical Greek (Dread/Fear Domain): Good, but Deimos is proly more suited]
[Eris/Discordia/Classical Greek (Chaos domain): A grand idea, but chaos wouldn't be focused enough.]
[Nemain/Irish&Celtic (Frenzy and panic domain): Pretty good idea, although more geared towards militancy]
[Arawan/Welsh&Celtic (Terror, Revenge/War domain): Again, sounds kind of militant]
[Pangu/Chinese (Creation domain): As a demiurge, not much to do with the hex]
[Bamapana/Aboriginal (Chaos/Trickster domain): Neat idea.]
[Tezcatlipoca/Aztec (Just about everything domain): Wouldn't go near the Smoking Mirrors with a cosmic bargepole.]
[Nemesis/Classical Greek (Revenge domain): Alright idea, but relies too much on 'just desserts', which only works if the recipient is deserving of a hex)]
[Suadela/Classical Roman (Persuasion, seduction domain): Not related to the idea.]
[Tengu/Japanese (Trickster domain): Awesome idea, although using a tengu mask would be more appropriate]
[Maya/Hindu (Illusion domain): Could work, would probably bear some freaky-koo results.]

Not that I can really give much input on the topic, but I would like a brief explanation as to why you're putting a hex on someone? If you don't mind, that is.

The beauty of it is, I'm not! 8D I'm just making it for my own ego[t]istical reasons, so I can develop a ritual of me own. I guess you could say it's practise. Or backup. XD

...Ok. Why did you choose/think up that particular hex, then?

T'was down to a mix of a) my own paranoia, b) boredom, and c) anger at someone a while back, wanting to curse them in my own special way as punishment.

ZOMG HECKX!!!!1!

Ah hexes....I've done a few in my time. Most of them involved 2x4s though.

I think the idea of yours is kinda neat. Its potent, but it doesn't over overboard. Its also quite subtle, which is useful. I bet it'd be funny as hell to watch too.

Now, as for spirits/gods/entities that could work well with this, I'd have to suggest gargoyle spirits. It may sound goofy, but there's a reason they are depicted with huge eyes and placed in different areas on the roof. They are supposed to give you the creeps. Another type of entity you could like at: Japanese youkai. Many of these were the inspirations for movies like Ringu (the Ring) and The Grudge. I haven't worked with them though.

Thought forms all the way.

Just come up with your own creepy-crawlies. Invest time and energy into them, give them thought, and unleash. Then use them for your hex. Maybe tie them to a certain thing you own, and thereby bind them to your service... you want them to be strong enough to give people those feelings, but not strong enough to oppose you.

Now there's an idea I hadn't thought of; I think I might just make an alternative version of the ritual for a group of servitors! Cheers for the input =D

Dude, Khali, that was a pretty good point! Why didn't I think of that?

...Oh right, probably because most people I want to curse have done a pretty bang-up job of doing it to themselves. Still, it *is* a neat idea. I still think it's a safer alternative to stick with illusion, though. That whole weaker-servitors-than-you thing just sounds like badness waiting to happen. It's like raising children to be your personal scullery maids. Sooner or later one of 'em's going to beat you to death with a skillet.

Hmmm, that didn't come out sounding remotely sane. Please excuse me. It's a lovely day, and apparently my brain is already outside...

Outside in a world where badly raised children turn into violent homocidal maniacs with rather interesting murder weapons, apparently. o.o;

Servitors/constructs/thought forms: PLEASE remember to put in a kill switch on the base level. Being able to command self-destruct makes you less likely to resemble Dr. Frankenstein one day.

Failsafes make it too easy. ^_^

Plus... I LIKE Frankenstein (I have read the original, of course).
