Hello all, I was rummaging around through my games wishlist and happened to stumble upon - what else - Psychonauts!

Ah what a game that was, neh? In my personal opinion, I found it to be ver ywell designed and a game that allowed creativity and originality to thrive without becomming so weighed down in that pursuit as to deny a very fluid and fun gameplay experiance.

The levels were well designed with quite a bit of replay value, the graphics were fresh and offered a new look through the set standards of normalcy, and the characters all posessed their own unique back story and quirks that just made the entire thing fun.

However, I must admit that some of the stages were nearly frustrating with thier challenges and Dr. Loboto...*shudder*

But otherwise I dub it a game worthy of the high scores it recieved!

What say you?
How did you react to the strange look of this game?
Did you enjoy the way the levels were designed to flow and offer alternate routes?
Did the characters quirky dialogue and bits of extra plot revelations draw you in?

Simply discuss the finer details on this marvelous and twisted game that we call Psychonauts.

I only got to play a demo in a store, but I have heard tons of good things about it and it looks like a lot of fun!

Psychonauts was the greatest game that not everyone played. Which was sad. I was actually discussing this with some people the other day as to why it didn't do as well as it evidently should have. But that would be me going off on different topic.(but I will if you want)

I have played this game multiple times. Every time I play I see and hear something more that I didn't notice before, like listening to the Coach sleeptalking into the speaker system and making squirrels explode.

The first time I played it I didn't think I'd finish the game in its entirety mainly because of the figments. Some of those things were impossible to spot. The Waterloo World level comes to mind in particular. It was frustrating spending hours combing the same spots over and over again for a figment that is in plain sight, but is so faint you have to do a double take before you notice it. That almost made the game unenjoyable.

My favorite aspect of the game though is the characters and the dialoge. The things that are said in that game are too disturbing for words. And the fact that it's said by little kids at a summer camp just makes it all the more funny.

Favorite level is the Milkman Conspiracy! That entire plot point of the game was pure genious.

I loved that game so much. I need to find it because my cousin said that they finally put it on the backwards compatible list for the 360.

I played the game until I got to the Bull Fight boss level after you get all the cards. I kept dieing and I gave up on the game.

Any one knows how to beat that boss?

You have to throw the pole things with the blades on the end (can't remember what they're called) into his back. Then when you help the bull, you pull them back out of his back and throw them into the matador (spelling?)

AWESOMENESS! biggrin Psychonauts luv- yay!
Yes, I think it was one of the greatest games ever. It had an awesome story and amazing graphics (I loved Black Velvetopia). And the characters are just so...cool!
The dialouge= greatness.

"I'm gonna kill you SO much!"

"Lili! A deranged madman is building an army of psychic death tanks to take over the world, and the only two people who can stop him are you and me!"
"...Oh my god, let's make out!"

"The bad news is that I'm going to take out your brain, put it in a highly-armored psychic death tank, and use it to shoot down innocent citizens with its concentrated power of DOOM! The good news is that your insurance will cover everything."

Okay, first, you need to get Edgar with the banderillas (bullfighting harpoons). Use the Levitation Ball to avoid when he charges at you, then telekinetically toss the spears at him.
When he's down, that stupid matador Dingo will move in for the kill. Pry the banderillas from Edgar and keep Dingo away from him. If the matador comes too close, try to hit him so he'll disappear. When you can, pelt him with a confusion grenade so he'll think HE'S the bull ("Look out! Here comes El Odio!" XD ) before spiking him with a banderilla. He'll teleport away, and then start the process again. Rather, linse, repeat.
