 Sukari woke suddenly in the night, feeling dreadfully ill. She knew it wasn't sickness, she'd had it ever since that special day... she gave a snarl of irritation and squirmed to lay on her other side. She'd had an inkling for a while... That Jani and she were to have cubs... the gods blessed them! However, along with the little ones within her came the pains... and hunger, and even more agitation than normal. She'd been more snappy that usual to almost everyone she encountered- everyone but her beloved Jani- and figured that this was due to the lives growing within her.
The question that had plagued her was when to tell him, or how. She was getting heavier- though not unless you were looking for it. She sighed with the new pressures that had just been put on her, but she had so many questions! What would they look like? How many cubs would she have? How many will be boys, and how many girls? Would one of them look like her mother? She discarded the last question angrily and put her head on the ground under the vast night sky, sighing loudly. She wanted the sick feeling to go away, but she could ignore it if she had to.

 Sukari's fidgeting movements slowly woke the deep green cheetah from his deep sleep, rolling on to his back he played with the sky with his claws as he rolled closer to his large chocolate brown mate. "You know I need my beauty sleep." He smiled playfully his ice green eyes slowly opening to look upon thelioness, his oddly deformed fore paws wrapping around her neck as he nudged her cheek. "What plagues you Sukari? You are not usually this wrestless." he whispers, fully used to her short temper to everyone but himself, he had not foundher actions over the last few days overly different from the norm, however her wakefulness this eve was definately unusual.
"Something on your mind?" He smiles lightly his dark green head tilting in a curious, cheeky manner, a slow flash of white fangs showing between his lips as he grinned at the larger lioness.

She nuzzled him back. "I didn't mean to wake you," she said softly to her mate, gazing into his eyes. The thought had occured to her (more than once,) what would she ever do without him? She speculated that she'd lose her mind, but she couldn't imagine anything in the world that would be worse than that- it was her biggest fear.
Back to matters at hand. "I've just... not felt well the past few days. Stomach ache and all," she said, buying herself more time to think about how to phrase her question.
"Jani..." her voice cut off suddenly, unsure if this was the opportune moment. "I wanted to tell you something too," she said, waiting to see if he wanted to hear it now or in the morning.

He raised a brow when she appologised for waking him, he really didn't mind, in the moonlight of the savannah, she looked wonderful, glowing even. "I don't mind being awake, the moon makes you all shiney." he chickles, his lame attempts at being romantic always felt so strange to him.
Those cool green eyes watched her face changeslightly, and a slightly worried crinkle rolled over his brow. Since their 'special night' alone he hadn't really thought about cubs, he even wondered if lions and cheetahs could have children together? He had never heard of it, though, he had never heardof alot of things, still the thought hadn't occured to him, so he automatically asumed there was somehting wrong, rather than right.
"You've been sick?" His heart tightened in his chest, the thought of loosing Sukari to some sort of desease made him afraid, what would he do without her other than waste away and vanish upon a breeze? He nudgedher cheek lovingly. "You can tell me anything love, if I can make it better just tell me how and I will." he whispers, his voice a little drawn and tence, he had no idea she was simply pregnant, or what the symptoms of pregnancy were, he simply feared she was not well.

She chuckled at his attempt. "Shiny, hmm? Does it show a bulging belly?" she asked, trying to give her mate some foreshadowing about what she was about to say.
"I know why I've been sick, and it's all your fault!" she said playfully, even though it was the truth. "You're going to be a father, Jani," she said fairly bluntly. She didn't know how else to present the issue. She smiled back at him. "That's why I've been more hungry recently, more reluctant to catch my own food, or do any substancial travel... I'll have to work that whelp more," she said moodily.

Jani was rather confused by her round about questioning. fatter?".." he was about to ask why she would say that only to stop himself in his tracks. "A Father?" he swallowed hard, he hadn't really thought about it, truthfully he had questioned if lions and cheetahs could make babies. Flattening his ears, he gave a slow careful nod and licked her nose. "I'm sorry i didn't mean to make you ill Sukari." he whispers, feeling guilty and worried that he had hurt his lover, something he had never wished to do.
The fur ont he back of his neck stood on end though when it hit him. "wait..I'm acctually going to be a father?" he raised a brow and looked atthe females belly, he knew that was where babies came from, he just didn't espect his babies to be coming from that particular belly. "I don't know what to say." He smiles garishly at his larger make and licks her cheek slowly. "I wasn't really sure if we could have kids..guess we can huh?"

"Yeah, I guess so..." Sukari said quietly. She knew what this meant, as did Jani, odds were. Soon enough, there'd be little ones running all around. What would she do? She was awkward enough around other individuals, how on earth would she handle the one creature she'd never dealt with? The youngest creature she ever bothered with was an adolescent- how was she going to raise cubs? She'd always believed that it'd come to her in instinct, but what if it didn't? The thought made her feel like she had a rock in her stomach.
She was silent and troubled, not knowing how this would turn out.

Jani knew how Sukari felt, he had never really had to deal with young anythings. Even his 'little brother' had bee an adolecent when he had met him. However he was pretty certain that Sukari would make a good mother. He watched her as her moods changed like the winds, a slow depression crawling over her features. "Hey, don't be sad" He whispers tagling himself under her chin and nuzzling her throat. "You know I'll always be theer for you, and I'd feed them if I could." He grins sheepishly pullingback slightly to admire his chocolate coloured mate. "You truely are glowing, like an angel carrying chrubs!" It was a strange thing for jani to be so romantic, but he truely thought she looked radient. She was carrying his cubs after all, something he never thought would happen either.
"I'll look after you, and them, no matter what, I promise." He nudged her shouldr thena nd worked his way down to her belly where he buried her nose in he rslowly forming bulge. "I Promise."

Jani always knew how to make her strong again. That was one of the biggest reasons that she loved him; because he could make her feel good again. She smiled at his words, glad to be able to be with him, and even happier that he had come with her out of the jungle.
"I'm not sure when they'll be here, or how many there are," she said, feeling like before anything else she needed to get this information out. "I'm sure we'll be fine," she said more confidently, returning to her old strong self.

Jani looked up at her, fropm his possition nuzzling her belly. He was baffled that he wasn't more frightened. He didn't even know what to do with children. he supposed because this was with Sukari that it didn't matter what happened they would get through it together.
"I'm sure they'll come in their own time." He whispers looking to ehr belly with admiration. Heacctually couldn't even fathom what it felt like t have other things growing in you, he admired Sukari for that, she could return to her strongest, true self, she wouldn't allow herself to be beaten by this, situation, a situation he had never been sure would happen. He grinned and looked at the little pot belly that would soon form in to a girth to bear his cubs and couldn't help but smile. he determined he would have to start feeding Sukari more,s he looked wonderful with a little weight on her hips.
"Lets hope they are all as beautiful as you are, they wouldn't want to look like me." he chuckled curling in closely to his larger mate his head pressed tightly against her throat line.

"How would you know what they want?" Sukari asked playfully, simply absorbing all of her mate's compliments. "Are you happy to be having them?" She asked, curious. They'll probably be the only cubs in the new pride! Sukari realized. This would be either very good, or very bad. They might be alone all the time, but... nobody would be around to give them a hard cub-hood. She glanced down at her belly... These things were going to be alive!
She snuggled up to Jani- if she knew what he had been thinking she would have gone berserk. ((XD))

Jani grinned playfully and nipped at his mates cheek softly. "I'm sure they will want what ever is beast for their beautiful mother." He chuckles leaning tightly against his chocolate brown mate, his mind absorbed int he situation at hand.
"O course I'm happy." He lifts his ehad and gazes happilyin to those golden eyes he adored so much. "Ileft the jungle for you, and for you I will have cubs , for you, I will do anything, and these cubs, they are yours and mine, theres nothing more I could want, things born of the two of us."
He glanced down her body again and licked his lips, he truely loved Sukari for amny things, her larger size was strangely one of them. "you must relax more now. Rygea and I will take care of the hunting." He wrapped a claw around her body then, his deformed toes moulding on to her belly. "They must walk on the ground when they come. I will not restrict them as I am restricted because of these." He held up his claws before his eyes. "I will teach them to climb but they will walk the ground as cheetahs and lions are supposed to." He smiled whistfully, he wasn't too sure how useful he would be with rearing cubs. He hoped he could take responsibility while Sukari established her place in the pride they were heading for.
"I'll do my best to care for them and for you." He gave a little nod then admireing her with loving eyes.

"I think it's important that they learn how to climb; most definitly. And learn how to fight, but that should be natural. Certainly we can teach them the speed of a cheetah and the strength of a lion," she said, thinking out loud. She'd never thought of the possibilities this way. These cubs were going to be awesome warriors, if they so desired. The benefits of two species... They would be truly amazing.
"You'll be able to teach them lots, Jani." Sukari said, giving her mate a light lick on the cheek. She plopped completely down on the ground, taking Jani's advise to relax more with a smile.

Jani grinned at his mate as she lay down, admireing her from above he allowed his eyes to trail down her body and rest upon her stomach. "I hope so." He puurrs laying down close to her his head draping accross her stomach. He felt very protective of her suddenly, afraid she might be under threat from creatures around them. He curled tightly, protectively in to his large mate. He wouldn't let anything befall her or his cubs. "They will be wonderful."
He nuzzled her stomach again then, pleased that this had come about, fear replaced by sheer happiness. Sukari looked amazing to him, glowing with life, her belly only just showing the signs of pregnancy. He did not doubt that she would end up much larger as her term went on. That made him smile. She looked so wonderful now, he could only imagine how much more radient she would look when her belly was full of his cubs.

She yawned, letting out what could be interpretted as a quiet growl. Her teeth glimmered in the moonlight for the moment that they could, and her mind turned to her cubs. Would they be little warriors? Or would they be prissy, like that blue lioness she'd met not long ago. Or would one of them be blind like the whelp? So many things could go wrong, but so many things could also go right. Who knew what the future held? As for now, she was happy to be with her mate under the stars, and she fell asleep, dreaming of the possibilities.
