Do any people here play games like Warhammer or Warmachine and the like? Seems like the word "gamer" only means console gaming or PC gaming.

Yup.
I have around 2000 points of Eldar, only 300pts or so are painted however. I can almost start doing Combat Patrols instore and not just playing with primed/proxied models xD
I also have a 1200pt Rohan army, almost entirely mounted. They're currently still sitting in their boxes on the sprue, unprimed.
Figure I'd finish my Eldar first :3

Probably going to get a Gothic fleet. I've played a few games and I like the way the Eldar maneuvre.

Warmachine's models look nifty but I dont want to get into anything else until I have at least one army completed.

Sounds like you have quite a few armies. Cool.
I'd personally never play any of the Imperium because I dont like the way they play.
Nids look funky, though, and I've painted about half my boyfriend's tau army.
Hehe oh right, my boyfriend is a redshirt so he (and thus I) get funky discounts on pretty much everything GW, even Forgeworld.

Hope you didnt think you were the only one xD

It's tough to find any people, much less of the female sort, who have any clue what Warhammer is. Have you seen the new Eldar Codex?!?! Harlequins=love for sure, and I am totally happy they brought them back. The sisters were my first army, so I can't really turn my back on them. It's funny, when they were threatening discontinuation of the sisters, I actually started converting them for a Slaneesh army, then lo-and-behold, they annex into Witchhunters. I'd say my Tau are my pride and joy for now.

The great thing about Warmachine is it's a bit simplistic, and 300pts will get you good to go. So I'm all for it, I'm just surprised it took me this long to get started on it really.

I personally am not going within twenty feet of the Harlequins.
Make no mistake, they kick a** gameplay wise, but I hate their models so much I'm forced to hate the entire idea.
They're just a**-ugly and even those amazing paintjobs they gave them did them no justice, if there is indeed any justice to be given.
I've thought about starting a Slaanesh daemonette army, but then again I think a plague marine/nurgling army would be a lot of fun to play.
It really depends on my mood, I think.
I love the new codex, though :3 They boosted Scatter Lasers to a base 4 shots, but then you dont get the max shots you could have. razz Then again rolling ones dont suck quite as much xD
One thing I didnt agree with was the use of Spiritseers and that new Wraithlord rule. I thought Wraithlords were comprised of many different souls and through all of the souls acting as one they didnt have the same kind of silliness as Wraithguard did, but I guess not.
Lame.

I haven't read through any of the new rules for Eldar yet, but need to.
I always thought the new Harlequins looked pretty freakin awesome, and they look like they should, at least in my mind. I'm willing to pick up at least one to try my hand at painting them. Who knows.

Have you seen how they're releasing new Dark Angels stuff? That's an army I wanted to start just for their story. Their's is the only fluff that's driven me to want to play them... well, except for sisters, but I like flamers, so It's kinda mixed.

So why did you start Eldar first? What was it about the army that you started playing them?

I'm learning slowly. I can't justify spending that much money on a game right now, so I'm slowly learning when I go to my mate's place.

Easycaek. The models are ******** pretty and nicely scaled, too.

The Eldar were indeed my first army. I thought about getting 'Nids for a LONG time, but after awhile I realized just how long it would take to paint an entire Nid army and it just totally threw me off.
They're still very cool and now that I've gotten better at painting I'm seriously thinking about starting them.
I think what drew me to the Eldar was that they were so ridiculous and that their models were so pretty.
Think about it...they're emo space elf pirate mages. Its ******** awesome.
The Biel-tan paintjobs in the codexes were also so pretty.
Couldnt have picked a harder army to start with, though ><
They're complex. Less than easy to put together, to paint, and to play, but I guess the best way to learn is to just throw yourself into it.
And I'd rather take a blow to the head than play space marines. Ew.
Unless they were greyknights. xD

My boyfriend works at GW so I hear about all the new stuff way before most people do. I read the White Dwarves sooner and I see all the new codexes/models sooner, too.
I personally hate the way Dark Angels look and their fluff is nothing special. I have this thing where I dont like many things out of the Imperium.
If they had made the Dark Angel's robes look more Templar-y somehow (because those guys and grey knights are the only marines that actually look decent/good) then I think they would have been more acceptable, but as it stands, ech no.
Although I do kind of like the way the last imperial jetbike guy looks.

I have a few (old, very old) examples of stuff I've painted in my DA gallery. Let me dig em up.

Falcon (ANTI-GRAV PANZER LOL)
Oldskoo Wraithlord

My painting has gotten a LOT better since then. I'm almost done my War Walker for combat patrols, I'll probably take pictures of that too when its done.
