Being rather new to WoW, as of yet I'm not using any mods. I'm not sure I need to with my main being a 35 priest just yet.

In any case, what mods does everyone use and find the most helpful?

Also: Where are they? ninja

((I'll compile them in this post for everyone's referance))

At 35, you don't really need any yet... Wait til you hit at least 50 before you start shopping around.

My thoughts exactly. Don't really fool around with mods until later on. I started off using CT on my first day because it was what my boyfriend was using. So I grew "up" with the little interesting things it does. I also got into roleplaying early on, so I downloaded flagRSP and later moved to MyRolePlay and ImmersionRP (I use both because IRP has a nice little button to remove all of your UI except the chat panel. If there is a mod out ther that does just that, PM me immediatly).

I'm still shopping around for some fun things. But otherwise my UI is pretty much standard with a titan panel across the top.

Im a purest. I dont use mods because I like the bare gameplay, kinda feels like cheating... Plus im always worried about account hacking. So I leave it as is, serves me well. Although I must say atlas loot mod would be a mod I would get if I where to get one. Its tried and true as well as its just overall a great mod which doesnt alter gameplay (thus it doesnt kill the purest thing), I use thottbot in game so atlas is just easier that alt-tabbing out.

Previously a purist, I only started using addons as a level 68 priest, when I really needed more action bars. Bongos is my friends, yes it is.

I can't get any addons to work on my computer

I DL it
I choose fastest mirror possible
I save file to Addons
I open the folder for the Addon, in this case, Zhuntermod
I extract the files from the smallest folder, where all the files are
I log on WoW
It's not there

Can i get some insight on what i may be doing wrong?

I'm a raider so I need a coupel of mods. At 35 you don't need mods really but later on when you start to do raids or hard 5 mans you strat to see a little more need for it. Currently I use..

CTmod + CTraid- a must for raiding in my guild

DeadlyBoss Mod- another must for my raiding guild

Atlas + Atlas loot enhance- very nice little add on that give syou boss drops and maps of some dungeons.

Itemrack- A very nice add on that lets you switch gear in just a click of a button. ex.- if you need to switch to healing gear for a fight instead of looking through all yoru bag space you just click a button and it all comes on you at once so you save time.

DamageMeters- Use it to track DPS and teh damage of others

Some mods that I did use at oen point but no longer do

Bongos- great bar mod with many different options can get a little confusing though

Necrosis- Great warlock mod that allows for quick acces to some things

Titan Panel- Used it when grinding ranks, also has some very nice features besides counting honor.

Thats all I can think of atm x.x;

Once you open the .zip, theres just the one folder, or a couple depending on the mod. Just copy those over. From what you say it seems like you are taking the straight files and shoving them like that into the Addons folder.

I use Cartographer, it has coords for when I get those off of thottbot, and also marks ore, herbs, and treasure on the map for easy tracking, as well as allowing me to make notes and marks on the map for my personal reasons.
