in this thread, just write a perk or two you get from marching band.
MINE:
1. able to march people down if they get in your way.
2. watching cheerleaders fumble when we go too fast. (although they got an IQ point and just clapped when we get up for fight songs)

The thrill of mowing down a competition judge... every band geek's dream (the flutes had this whole plan for the last competition how we were going to just veer completely off track just to let the seniors finally run down a judge... didn't work though sad )

Other then friends and memories, it's the joy of having an excuse to run over that annoying little girl and get points for it...
For the brass section, it's the joy of screaming at the arrogant freshmen-brass players, complaining to the director, and then being able to chase them off the field at max speed and getting extra credit.
I hear the guys in my band talking about how when they do the show, they have a perfect view of the cheerleaders butts.

laughing at the only other band member in cross country get attacked by the director for not being in marching band AND watching the idiots in it who dont care get yelled at. twisted

OMG!! on one of our band trips, we went to augusta and on the way home we got lost and ended up leaving georgia and going to south carolina!! that is my perk!!
oh and also getting to watch people get pranked!!((or be the one pranking someone!))
