And/or believe they exist in this world?
I actually found a useful and interesting book about Dragonology in my school's library and I've been reading up on it. Everything mentioned seems very accurate, along with the fact it includes very reasonable sightings and information about them. Even a Hong Wei invisibility spell was included, but I'll leave that out for now. Anywho, I was gonna see how many people were interested before I start posting assloads of information.

Is it that Dragonology pop-up book that has all the little do-dads included in it?

I mean... the mythos of Dragons is very interesting to me. However... I think I just have to settle with the fact that they are not substance. They can be spirit beings, I think... but unfortunately there is just the mythology.

And be careful about posting stuff out of books. Plagiarism and all that. So be ready to credit the true title of the book, author, publisher, etc.

As far as dragons physically existing in the real world, I don't believe that at all.

As far as dragons existing in a non-phyisical form, sure why not. Of course I expect there existance to be in context with their mythology or I expect people to label these as thought-forms, but meh. That's my labelage deal and not about actuality.

If you've got information on it one way or the other, I'd be curious to look at your sources before I made any strong accusations one way or the other. Dragons aren't exactly a specialty of mine.

I'm currently studying a form of Magick called Dragon Maigick.

It is NOT for beginners. I'm a beginner and I'm only studying, finding information and such. Never doing spells.

DF knows lots about it.

But yes they do exist. I've met one that seems to like me. Little silver flame ^ ^

The only dragons this world has ever known are the result of erroneous interpretations of known phenomena and the surrounding environment. They're a nice idea, but have no reality outside of fiction.

Dragons exist. But they don't live in the physical world.. nonetheless they can make strong impressions here.

I've worked with them before, have done dragon magick as well. Its beautiful. But definately not for beginners.. Their energy is very strong, and in only the presence can give you head aches, dizzy spells, nausea, and thats when they are happy XD, happily soaking up the moon's energy and playing around with the nature spirits outside.. I assume it would be a lot worse if they were to attack you or take offense of something...

I would probably still be practicing except its hard when their activity is low, and your dragon friend has disappeared... complications on that side...

As with others, I have seen no indication that dragons exist as categorizeable, studiable creatures in this plane of reality. However, there are many planes of reality and on the scale of 'fictional' creatures that have a lot of collective life breathed into them by the creative enterprises of human beings, dragons near top the list. In that, they have tremendous power as cultural icons and would bring that same power into magical workings.

I've done some limited study into dragonology but in some ways I think it is important to not discount the power of modern mythology, or what most would consider pop-culture genre fiction. Dragons have gotten power power put into them through modern mythology than they probably did by the ancients. It is worth studying the archetype out of which older mythological dragons arose from, though.

Dragons come out as a natural focus for me since I was somewhat obsessed with both dragons and dinosaurs as a kid. The dragon fixation for some reason stuck around where the dinosaur one didn't. It used to be so difficult to find dragon stuff, but now it's almost everywhere! Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. xd Some of the new stuff is a direct steal off the old stuff. Eragon for example strikes me as a child's version rip-off of Anne McCaffery's Dragonriders of Pern series. Not that I dislike Eragon, I just think it's amusing.

I've had a somewhat odd fasination for dragons. Odd being, suddenly, out of the blue 'I love dragons' feeling. I believe they exist, though back in the day, I had some weird theories of how they are gon from 'here'. None of those theories could be real though, I haven't researched into the species further.

I believe in dragons/that they exist, but I don't think they live in the 'pshyical' world now.

Does anyone actually believe in dragons as physical creatures currently or previously inhabiting the Earth?
PostPosted: Mon Mar 12, 2007 8:13 pm

Previously, its possible. Or perhaps something like the fae today, not completely physical, but able to control or touch physically, even be seen as what may have been physical.

Witnesses, throughout history, and even today. Personal experiences of thousands I bet.

Art is a good way too.. countries that never encountered each other had several artwork containing dragons or dragon like creatures (and many other types of beings) in their artwork.

Other than that I would have to study again.

Note that the appearance and properties of dragons greatly varied from culture to culture.

EDIT: What witnesses?
